As a Saffer... Jerry Collins in the toughest 'clean' player I've seen. I am a Bulls fan, and I think Bakkies was a brilliant lock. But when I saw him try take out Gio Aplon in a ruck, I lost a ton of respect for him as a player.
I didnt like that either,or trying to dislocate Rory Cockotts knee. But I did rather enjoy how Ben Kay thought he was hard by cleaning one of our guys out then Bakkies made him fly from the ruck.
Scariest player I ever played against was Jan Tredoux, loosehead in SA. He used to meet you in the first scrum with a hit to the head, and say don't cry now because you still have 80 minutes of it coming.
Jonah lomu, Jerry collins, henry tuilagi and brian lima were the scariest for me. Botha one hell of an imposing lock though, along with victor mat field.
That incident isn't worth discussing. The comment at the time said it all. Ref are we not allowed to tackle Carter?? I'd rather discuss how he put bakkies botha in his place at the 1st scrum
No his not the scariest Rugby Player ever! Theres Sebastian Chabal/ Henry Tuilagi/ Viliame Satala/ Brian Lima/ Jonah Lomu/ Josua Tuisova/ Levani Botia and others including Botha. His one of the scariest not the scariest.
I’ve seen bakies back down to one man, and he is more feared than Henry Tuilagi and that was Trevor Leota. When Trevor debuted for Samoa for the last 20 minutes he knocked out 4 Tongan players. He was the reason they abolished the shoulder charge in union.
@Edit Name just google 'Francois Hougaard hair' I'd say he has a toupee, it's way too thick to be hair plugs. The glue that you get now is incredible, hence why he can play rugby without it being pulled off
Bakkies was also one of the dirtiest players of past 20 years. He threw in cheap shots every game and got away with most of em. These days he'd spend most of his time on sideline hehehe
@@asghaabjob9603 I agree, in the 80`s punches were flying all over the place, it made a great day out for the spectators. Very few players were totally destroyed in a punch up cos they knew how to defend themselves. The TMO is killing the modern game, 4 minutes of replays and they still, too often, get the decision wrong. No-one can challenge in the air anymore and the worst is a player standing up to an attacker and taking a full brunt collision is seen as a high tackle even if the arms wrap. Bla Bla, player safety and long term effects from concussion, so what, they chose the sport for financial gain, bring it on. The players know when there is foul play in a ruck, if some guy grabs your nuts, he IS going down, screw the ref. We need on field justice. Reduce the amount of games the modern players are expected to play, let the bodies recover but most of all "Let the bodies hit the floor".
Just so we all know who you are talking about....... "Marc Cécillon (born 30 July 1959 in Bourgoin-Jallieu, Isère) is a convicted murderer and former French rugby union player, who captained the national side on five occasions. He represented France from 1988 to 1995, with 46 test caps, including playing in the 1991 and 1995 World Cups. Cécillon, who played both number 8 and flanker, was known as the Quiet Man of French rugby."
Bakkies and Victor one of the best lock pairings in the history of the sport 💯
No one could clean out a ruck like Bakkies Botha
About 10 years ago I played with Henry Tuilagi at Perpignan. He was scary on and off the field. On the drink he was a ticking time bomb 😂
i knw wht u mean downt downt auckland on a sat night is a jungle

Jerry was a legend. Loved rocking up to club games and playing with the boys
Met Jerry once in 2003, the guy was very down to earth, the night before he played a test against SA in Auckland
I didnt like that either,or trying to dislocate Rory Cockotts knee. But I did rather enjoy how Ben Kay thought he was hard by cleaning one of our guys out then Bakkies made him fly from the ruck.

Bakkies could take it as well as dishing it unlike the northern forwards who just complain to
Ref and anyone else who would listen! Richard
In that Bulls team Danie Ressouw was sceary on and off the field, by a country mile... Danie after a few Branewyne was not a nice person
Danie Roussow was a beast. He was I think 6'4" & 130kg.
Jonah lomu, Jerry collins, henry tuilagi and brian lima were the scariest for me. Botha one hell of an imposing lock though, along with victor mat field.
So scary I named one of my weimeraners after him, had a beer with jonno in Paris a few weeks ago, good lad even when his boys lost.
Jono was in my class lol. Good to hear he is doing well
Get Bismark the battle ship on to talk on his Dan Carter tackle :) Would love to hear his version of events
The most bullshit red card in rugby history
That incident isn't worth discussing.
The comment at the time said it all. Ref are we not allowed to tackle Carter??
I'd rather discuss how he put bakkies botha in his place at the 1st scrum
Jerry Collins, Sebastian Chabal, Brian Lima, Pablo Matera

i think he mentions bakkies because he has a screw loose. Like a mental case scary. The other guys you mentioned arent like that accept maybe chabal
Chantal didn’t carry the size of Bakkies and was really over hyped. Lomu I wouldn’t call scary either. Others on the list agreed.

Bakkies in a fight would bash his brains out.
@@markbrown-sb2zm pffffftt
Bakkies was beating people senseless as a doorman, straight from school,he is as hard as they come and would beat any player in a fight.
the first ad I've never skipped.... hubba hubba
You're here.
Did he just say the monsters from Space Jam? Lmao....
Ron Templeton was 7'9" and 42 stone. He was rubbish at rugby but could kill a man with a single punch.
Who are they talking about at the beginning, the person who is much bigger in real life and has a baby face? Luke someone?
Lood De Jager
"Do I look like play golf"..... classic😋
i remember bakkies head butting all black jimmie cowan from behing on the ground, one of the most cowardly displays i've seen on the rugby feild,
Hang onto that one bru. Lol.
Hahaha cowardly 😂😂😂
He deserved it
because jimmie held him back and the ref did nothing about it
but i bet you wont tell bakkies that to his face.
Sorry but nothing on Cowboy Mark Shaw. Shaw never did handbags at dawn. He only sat opposition players on their arse or out cold.
i think ther wer a few nazi scientist tht escaped to the high velt at the end of the war... wuld make a lot of sense
Francois Houkard, always makes me laugh with that absolutely _ridiculous_ hairpiece.

Botha and Mattfield are the scariest and dirty enforcers. And they're both locks
Ah, the dream duo.
