I can't explain how nostalgic is this song to me, I just love Kurapika and this arc with Genei Ryodan. I remember the first time I watched this episodes of Kurapika's hate, and I don't know, I admire him. laugh or whatever but he´s more than just a character to me.
kurapikas anger and determination and torment are depicted so viscerally, u can really feel the depth of emotion when u see him in this arc 😢 love it to bits
@@gilso884 i am OBSESSED with episode 45, kurapikas "training montage". where they show how he developed his nen ablitily, ITS SO DARK AND FOREBODING!! and artistic!! also the way he loses it and gets sick after killing uvogin, that felt like a gut punch. i was rly surprised when i found out that doesnt happen in the manga!
@@crossedeyes the 2011 anime is faithful to the manga but the aesthetic and atmosphere of the 1999 version is definitely more fitting to the story esp Kurapika's. I love the added scenes that isn't in the manga. It's beautiful. If they are gonna adapt succession war arc, I hope they animate it like in 1999 version 🤗

Im SO glad i did because the OST isABSOLUTELY phenomenal and just fits the type of manga it is IMO. Love the added scenes, and the sub VA's are also so fitting for many of the characters. Has a completely different feel than the 2011
I was 15 when I watched the OG HxH. This arc took me on such a turn. Kurapika’s hate and anguish were so well written. I remember being somewhat traumatized by the Uvogin fight for some reason lol. Anyway, props always to Togashi. This song, too, has inspired lots of my own writing

This arc felt a lot more personal to Kurapika in the way this was directed. The Spiders were also characterised better in this in my opinion. The 2011 version has the better voice actors, soundtrack/ sound design and animation. But there's something about this version that appeals to my heart and the darker aesthetic fits this arc a lot more. Of course, the 2011 version is probably a lot better by all means, and that's also the version of the story I will recommended to a newcomer. But the 1999 version is really really good and every fan of the HxH series should watch it

No I agree. Season1 of first anime had big pacing issues but this arc was much better made than the 2011 version.
