There was a great piece of fan art that had a "Mighty Nein the Next Generation" with Kiri a couple of her Shuster siblings, a child of Vox Machina and Calianna as their leader. It was Beyond Adorable!

The Mighty Nein, much moreso than Vox Machina, had a journey characterized by all the random happenstances and people that they came across who helped them on their way, or that they had to help, like Kiri. I could see it now, Kiri showing up in an episode maybe halfway through the season and then it culminating in this, though with Jester fully present this time.
The fun thing is, Kenku are obsessed with shiny things, for example, a shiny dagger. Her giving it back to them means she trusts them so much. Its sad how they might never see her again. For all they know, she's moved away, or grown up, or, likely not, but still possible, died. It's a sad thing.
Every time I hear a music box I think of this and I get so overwhelmed with emotion. Critical role is so good and special and I think they have built such an amazing world and have an amazing fan base

For people who watch this in the years ahead, lil extra context: This was near the time where the US was separating kids and parents seeking asylum into the US. (hopefully we're not doing that anymore?) Lot of the cast was very vocal about their outrage of this. Laura and Travis were in the hospital for the birth of their son Ronin earlier this afternoon. This was a very bittersweet moment. 😭 not a dry eye in the chat that night.
It does seem likely that it was intended. Especially since they kept reiterating, "no child should be separated from their parents". Felt like art making a statement. Plus Geek and Sundry did a big fundraiser for RAICES texas lately.
That's not a context I was thinking of while watching this clip, but now that you mention it it makes 100% sense for me. The whole cast, and Mercer in particular, are vocal about their human rights views, and it sometimes shows up in the game in more literal senses than others. I'm glad you reminded me of it, it gives the scene an extra layer. Also, I hadn't caught the news of BabyBlam's name yet! Ronin is so nice :D

This video makes me think, and I don't know if it's gonna happen but if in one of my games I play as my big stoic Raven aarakocra Otar and I come across a Small little kenku I'm gonna have him adopt them. Like can you imagine seeing this huge bird barbarian walking along with a little kenku either holding his hand or fast asleep in his arms? That would me pretty neat. Tho that thought of Otar being secretly being this sweet loving Dad that is very protective while making small toys for the kenku to play with between jobs, me I'd love that But of course as a DM this gives me ideas for plot points or scenes that, like this video, can cause the eyes of meny to turn into waterfalls
