One thing i'd like to mention is that 3rd years too didn't really get much of the training. They couldn't play practice matches with others coz of loss of connections nor they had a coach to train them properly(unless the few times coach ukai came) so basically all the 3 of them trained by themselves and u could say that 2nd and 3rd year players of their time were bums not them coz I believe if they had proper training they would have become great too coz at the end they are very passionate about volleyball and they practiced hard even when they got no chances.
Main thing being that all the third years chose to stay on for the spring tournament when traditionally they should/would be cramming for their finals.
One key point about all the seniors that they don’t talk about is how strong their basic fundamentals and consistency are because that’s all they have been training without a proper team/coach.

That's truly impressive that they chose to stay for the spring tournament when anyone else in their place would have left to focus on the studies that really shows how much they respect and love volleyball. Plus when they didn't get to properly train in their 3 years, they didn't slack off but instead practiced hard in whatever area they were lacking and became strong.
I think it’s also important to remember that the Karasuno didn’t even have a coach to train them and that they were essentially running practices by themselves before hinata and kageyama arrived. If coach ukai hadn’t agreed to help the team, hinata and kageyama’s quick would have been stopped pretty quickly

That's a very astute observation. You're picking up on the small details, like the 3rd years looking like "bums" while the 1st years are rapidly growing. It's great for the story because it answers all these questions and develops characters in a way that might make you change your opinions.
Bokuto could be in the top3 if his mood swing gone. If he always in first-rate condition, he could be in top3 like Ushiwaka and Sakusa. Why he is in top5 because he has that mood swing or his emo mode. Trainning summer camp is being the most comfortable arc for me in Haikyuu. Anyway, spring high will come soon.......can't wait to see your reaction, guys.
The first two seasons follow a pattern of half a season training arc and then half a season is matches, season 3 switches this up a bit and then season 4 picks that pattern up again (I think this is the best one), love that you guys are enjoying this series though, I think we’re all similar that it takes some time but we all have that moment that makes us fall in love with it..
People, just let them watch the frikin show, let them form their own opinions about the characters and the story. This constat of "oh you don't understand the show"

Yeah and both of them are intently watching them grow in official matches and rooting for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up as teammates with them in college or in pros.

3rd years are great at volleyball. kagehina are just greater as weapons with a special move. hinata literally doesnt know how to do most things. it's an anime at the end of the day; 3rd years are regular everyday skilled players

All I'll say is that there's a reason super teams in sports are a thing and fail terribly.

This anime isn't about superheroes, it's just athletes and high school students.
I'm so happy Takeda-sensei gets screentime. Japanese teachers are like next level overworked and exploited, they deserve some flowers ❤️. The supportive staff in this anime is so wholesome. In other animes so many teachers are some bums istg.
I'm glad you guys do enjoy this training camp, but do find it interesting/weird that the training arcs take up half the seasons. To address that: Karasuno's evolution is actually super fast. It's only been 3-4wks since their last training camp with the Tokyo teams, and they're already going neck and neck with Fukurudani, a frequent national team, with half-cooked new techniques. Taking up half the season just simulates how difficult it is to improve technical skills. This isn't a fantasy world where they make up own rules and techniques, and they can just flash some scenes within a few episodes. The skills they're developing are real, and would take more than 1 month to reach their current level in reality. If the anime didn't do so, you'd be weirded out that Karasuno has grown stronger with barely any training. The animation style exaggerates how Kageyama's new toss looks like, but it's legit. What it should look like is closer to Ukai's explanation back in S2 E6, when he 1st described to Kageyama what kind of toss he should try out.
In addition, while Karasuno is training, so are the other teams that they might face again in the coming tournament: Seijoh, Dateko, and maybe Shiratorizawa. It's kinda forgotten, but Karasuno will battle evolved versions of these other teams. It ain't like other shounen where the main character fails once, trains, gains a new skill, then fights the enemy who didn't change, and so the main character wins because of the new skill.
I think blue lock is more appropriate for them than haikyuu 😹😹😹😹 anyways, cant wait for them to finally understand the show

The reason Bokuto isn't in the top 3 is *because* of him being moody, when he is in the zone he is at the same level, it's just that he is inconsistant
And again, Nekoma is in Tokyo, Karasuno is in Miyagi, they are like 5 hs apart by car, the tournament they are doing now is for a chance to get to nationals, since Miyagi only one slot, they have to win everything, Tokyo has more schools so they get two slots, and this year they get anotherone because it's being held in Tokyo, so it's like a venue representative slot
One thing about the third years, they arraived to Karasuno already fallen, no coach, no adviser, no practice matches, their first years they were just on the bench because of seniority, their second year they improved a bit, don't know how many of them where allowed on the court (the second years may not have been, maybe Nishinoya), enough to be number 8 in the prefecture, sure it doesn't get you to Nationals but with the few to no resources presented to them it's impressive
Don't want to belabor the 3rd year stuff, but I will say, them losing in previous years isn't necessarily on them. They were 2nd years the previous year. Them not having success probably had more to do with their 3rd years than them and they had a really weak crop of 1st years aside from Nishinoya. Them not having success the year before that, again probably had to do more with the talent of the 2nd and 3rd years rather than theirs.
I think it is well established that Daichi, Sugawara, and Asahi are all above average players, with Asahi especially being a top hitter.
People need to understand that one can have different opinions than anyone else. Especially the haikyuu fans.

Well if that's what he believes then okay, I don't mind it. People have different opinions and he's technically not wrong but if you say outrageous things like bums and shit then yeah people are gonna defend it. You can't go getting butt hurt if your instigating and we believe your wrong. If you throw fire your probably gonna get fire. When you say they haven't achieved anything before this current line, I'll have you know that with this current lineup... they haven't won anything either. That's why it's funny because let's say it's in reverse. Hinata and kageyama are the third years then would you say they would win without the other 4 or would they win without 2 of the players, it's all hypothetical but they definitely wouldn't be as strong as they are now. This team exists because they mesh so well together and they found a winning formula with the pieces they had. A majority of this is through daichi their team captain and his vision. I dunno why I'm writing this god dam essay XD I'll stfu now. EDIT by the way we don't hate you guys for disliking characters, we dislike it if you have no reason for disliking characters. Just disliking for the sake of disliking something is silly.

Oh my god guys. first of all, sorry as a person from the fandom for rude remarks. Also, once you watch more episodes you will understand why these people are getting agitated with your examples. Do you remember during first season tsukki was just an annoying rude mouth. Now how do you feel about him? The same happens with all players. haikyuu just make you feel connected to many players. There will be some characters whom you with connect more because they have similar thoughts like you. For me its Kenma, Kunimi, Tsukki, etc. About the sentence iwaizumi told oikawa that there are 6 players on court. you will understand it later. The training arc important because now we only know about Seijoh as a power house. Karasuno has to win against power houses before competing with Nekoma. Its like how students has to win state level competitions before competing with other states schools on national level. Only if the receivers and blockers improve, the ball will reach setter to do freak quick. Everything will make sense later.

I was about to sleep and then I saw and tapped.
Just so you know: when you throw a ball up in the air it goes up (velocity is positive), then stops (v=0) before falling (v negative). That is because of gravity. If we didn’t have gravity the ball would just continue flying with the same tempo, but since the ball is forced up but accelerated down bc of gravity, there will be a moment where it just doesn’t move, before then being pulled down. So the physics in the show are real just shown very exaggerated and slowed down.

I agree but people don't really understand that what makes a good team just isn't talent. It's how well the team meshes together and how they problem solve through their personalities. It's not a hard concept to understand BUT I will say that even Sports managers don't understand this concept because super teams in sports are still a thing and most often fail miserably.

Guys, don't even worry about telling them about what the 3rd years had to deal with during their tenure at Karasuno. We literally get backstory into what they are up to as first years, and it reveals to us that they're the only ones who even get a damn about improving, and that they had no guidance that entire time. We do NOT need to spell it out for them when the damn show does it eventually.
The third years aren't remarkable tbf but no point people getting weird.
