Today, I took a moment to reflect on the Dubai of my memories-vast stretches of sand, not a single McDonald's in sight. Al Mulla Plaza and Al Ghurair Center were the exclusive shopping destinations back then. If you craved pizza, Pizza Hut stood next to Pizza Inn on Al Wahda street in Sharjah. While flipping through an old VHS Dubai documentary recording from Channel 33 that my mom captured in the late '80s, I found it remarkably inspiring, prompting me to share an article with you. The striking resemblance in the mindset of UAE leaders then and now is truly noteworthy.
