This was originally a rap song by Jay Chou (silent U) that Hua Hua rearranged over the course of 2 days and nights without sleep. That's how he always works. He wrote and recorded the choir section with a group of music students plus the backup singers. He wrote the classical piano section and added the Peking opera section. If there's anything else he could have included, I don't know what it would be. He even did Orchid hands during the opera sections, though the lady in the audience did them better, lol. Yes, he plays piano, flute, guitar, and numerous other instruments including the air piano. I adore this man. Your reaction was right on target. Everybody who sees it for the first time sort of sits there with their mouths hanging open, at a loss for where to start.

Jeris Turner, Hi. I just started listening to Hua Chenyu and I am just in awe. I have been listening to Dimash and about a month ago I started listening to Hua. Watching videos of him talking and not understanding but he is so funny, I wish those talking videos had English subtitles.
He just started an IG page but I am not fond of IG and I stay away from Twitter.
There is no Fan Club that I know of. Maybe you do. I would love to communicate with someone who is knowledgeable about him and you seem to know a lot. I do not know Chinese.

Months ago, I was able to watch most of the episodes of Next S2 with English subs with Hua Hua in it. I didn't complete the whole series before the English subs were deleted. I enjoyed watching the interviews, the backgrounds, etc... I hope one day the show will permit English subs. Thanks!

I am never a fan of any singer, but Hua Hua is just so incredibly talented!!! People like to mix different genres nowadays, however, his works are the best I have ever seen! Plus how much of a humble person he is when he is not on stage compares to the king on stage is just simply unbelievable!

I just want to say that he is a real artist.
This song was the song that first introduced me to Hua Hua. By the time the song ended I was sitting in front of my computer with my mouth hanging agape. This song shows his ability as an arranger and performer as well. He said in the pre-song interview in the original episode of "The Singer" that aired this song that he locked himself in his room for two days and did not come out or have any human contact until he was happy with the outcome. I have never heard the original but it was originally done by another Chinese rapper. I got the impression from the way he was speaking about how he arranged things that the original was all rap. He got the idea of the soft intro and the parts that were inspired by Chinese opera from the lyrics that are referring to the hard and soft (ying and yang) of the Nunchucks. The rap parts and rock sounding parts of his arrangement represents the hard while the intro and Chinese Opera like parts represent the soft. He doesn't view himself as a genius or prodigy but this is the one area I disagree with him. His performance was brilliant and he took the audience along with him for a fun and amazing ride. His arrangement was inspired genius.

He has the an amazing voice that he really use to express so many genres, and as I have been reading many places..he is a guys with a lot of messages in his song writing, singing and performances! I think when people heard that Hua was going to perform Nunchucks，fans knew it's gonna be good，but no one expected...this. Jay Chou's Nunchucks was such an iconic song ，to have the guts to almost completely reinvent the wheel，I applaud for Hua！
Love this Performance！The 'mixing hardness with softness' through genre mash up was so cleaver...
I saw in one award presentation of some sort, I'm not sure if Jay Chou presented it, but he was so shy with him on stage, telling him he was his idol. He could hardly look at Jay. Someone had to encourage Hua to shake or hug Jay. It was so awkwardly cute.
Not so fun fact: "Dad, I'm home" was originally another iconic rap song by Jay inspired by, IIRC, his own experience with domestic violence. He rapped it in a style similar to Eminem, mixing his native Taiwanese dialect into the balladic chorus, with the only spoken words "Dad, I'm home" in Mandarin. You can imagine the raw emotional pain that people who are familiar with the original song felt with Hua's heartbreaking rendition. That's why the audience was left stunned and speechless with watery eyes.

Exactly how I reacted to Nunchuck first time I saw this performance on Singer 2018. Didn't know the original song but had to look it up but really understood what a musical talent it takes to create such an epic mix of musical genres and than the stage presence - and off stage he was so humble and shy. ❤

This is one of my favorite songs of Huahua. I have a whole Playlist of his songs which I listen to every night. He's such an inspiration to me, to keep on fighting.. You can not only feel his emotions but also see them clearly. He's the only singer I prefer to hear live 🙏🏻❤️

He has already done Concerts in 2015, 2016, 2017, his Concert for this November sold out in 5 minutes., He has performed for crowds of 80,000!! He was in a harness going around in head over feet above the crowd and singing just as good. One Concert his Encore was The Four Seasons You’re Just Too Good To Be True, starts out slow & at the refrain he is jumping around fast!!

I HONESTLY LOVE YOU after rocking out for 2 1/2 hours!!
If he does concerts back to back, they are completely different. I have listened to him sing from 2013 when he won China’s SUPER BOY COMPETITION & wears huge glasses and looks like Adam Ant!! He has listened to most American Rock, it is there but he makes it his own.

and none of his CD’s are available in the USA but like Dimash, they need to be seen.
He dances!! In 2018 he was on The Next, another show, and they team you up for Duets.
He sings a funny song & 4 or 5 songs in he sings a beautiful song and then before the end, breaks into a Ballroom Tango!!! Tango is one of the hardest dances.
I looked at him for months on a FB Story link that posts pictures of Dimash & Hua Chenyu. I just started listening to him and my Rock side is really enjoying him because he combines many styles in one song and his concerts. I will send some links soon.

Shenzhen Bao'an Stadium has a capacity of 50,000 people and sold 50,000 tickets in a few seconds. I got a ticket for November 3, which was very difficult. I couldn't help laughing all the time. I was so happy.

If you look closely at the stool he sets his feet on, apparently in that place was originally a speaker but the director didn’t want him to accidentally break it during his performances so they added it afterwards just for him.😂

Halo Andy if u haven't seen Fake Monk u haven't seen anything yet 😲 below is link to Fake monk live from Singer 2018 with behind the scene intro interview (eng sub), this song is a pure masterpiece, like u said it's not easy playing piano and sing, wait till u watch this artistic performance! It's the most impressive performance I've ever seen!! But be warn it can be a little creepy though, yet so beautiful and mesmerising! Huahua uses it to express his pain from lonely fearsome childhood as his parents were divorced when he was 2, and from a super wealthy family his father was always away for business, and he was left with different nannies or maids who were strangers to him so he always chased them away, hence when little he yearned for love yet fearful and rejective, he feared to go to school to meet people he just hided in his room playing his own music, he now urges others to look out for such lonely kids and give them loves they need. 🌸🌸 pls watch and react to this video, like someone commented I'll like to see your reaction to this masterpiece 🤗
