Christopherprime 22 there are too many great lines in this song, but I really like "The machines of war will fuel both sides and the greed will only grow more lies farewell to peace cause now it's time to die"
RWBY must be the show with the best soundtrack i've seen. Or better phrased: the one with the best songs to listen alone (some shows have an amazing soundtrack that goes with the moment, but not alone)
carlosbaldellou Nothing against your opinion, but if you want mine: I've heard much better. Nothing wrong with the soundtrack's, but come on. I mean it's almost impossible to find negative reviews, comments, or rants about Jeff Williams's work so he must be doing something right.
Juan Reyes Bit late, but I agree. I have across anime that do have better soundtracks. I'd say Attack on Titan is one of them. Not to say this isn't good, the songs are awesome. But I've heard better.
Ruby has been bottling up her emotions and smiling through her pain from the start. She was the only member of team RWBY who never talked about her past. In volume 4 and 5, everyone worked through the trauma they experienced and learned about themselves. Everyone except Ruby. Ruby smiled through it all. She doesn't show her pain to others. The Red Like Roses manga shows a scene where a teenage Ruby breaks down in front of her mother's grave, which suggests she never got over her mother's death. She wants to be strong like the heroes in the books, so she smiles through it all. When Ruby broke down near the end of volume 7, I think it signified an important character arc for Ruby that will happen soon. Ruby is a lot more complex than she appears on the surface...that sad smile kills me every time.

Mainly top computer guy went to enemy. Then they did not find anyone good to replace. Plus military mindset not that interested in computer tech. With someone that in control going trator they should have taken every wire and device out and throw it all in a volcano and build security from the ground up. Borrowed from what they should have done in Deep Space 9 after taking over the station and kept getting hacked.
Just send Glynda up to fix it... I mean she fixed the cafeteria after the best foodfight EVER. Nora sending Yang into subspace and Glynda almost losing it when Yang re-entered the atmosphere and broke one of the tables. I swear, if Ozpin hadn't stepped in, those kids would be dead. Glynda was NOT happy. ....Doesn't she use a riding crop as her weapon, too? I noticed that in the first episode when she slapped it on the table "And a slap on the wrist". Instant favorite adult female character. Then along came a Qrow and a new favorite character arrived. But I may or may not be a bit too obsessed with those two characters. :3
(v9 spoilers ahead) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . * sigh * this makes more and more sense as Volume 9 progresses. Ruby couldn't stop Salem from destroying Atlas, couldn't save Penny, back then she saw Pyrrha die in front of her eyes. She still had no time to process her grief for Penny and yet she's still expected to smile and uplift everyone. I think that unless Little manages to be a voice of conscience for her, Ruby is going to go down a really dark path.
The Darkest path. Note what she does was forced on her not a choice. Her failures come earlier in not seeking help thus when other keeps the team distracted in 9 she keeps getting worse as other had planned.
I miss my rwby phase circa 2018. I became uninterested like many others did in the series, but this is still my favorite song. I even have my old shirt of Ruby and friends for memories sake. I wonder if it's weird to feel nostalgia for something that only took place five years ago though. (EDIT) 03/07/24: RIP Rooster Teeth. I just got the news. At every end no matter how grim, there's a new beginning ❤
Season 9 was pretty interesting. It's extremely different than the rest of the series, but much better than last few seasons. I can't wait for season 10
@kushmorejames8164 volume 9 was good until they introduced jaune, it's like after Monty passed and miles got on the writing team he just kinda forced his character to be a main character and it's kinda annoying
@@TF-RC227 Yea, that's fr. Weiss got shoved to the back that whole season too. Yang and Blake had their love story, Ruby had her break down, and Weiss' character was pretty much ignored.
@@kushmorejames8164 That's factually untrue, and you should feel bad. Weiss was the one who gave Team RWBY the news about their battle with Cinder, confronted her past, helped Jaune recover from his mental issues, and engages in many fights with her team. I can hardly call this getting the shaft.
OOOOH I FINALLY GET IT, when the moon is gone, the grimm will kill everyone and the series will end AND Salem will get a chance of getting the maidens power

Spoiliers would like to point out the subtle nod to "Die" In Neos comeback music which is dubbed "One thing" which I always felt like that was Neos theme "Kill for kill eye for eye blood for blood it's time to die" now I'm about to blow your minds what's the name of the episode that Neo is featured in? "The coming storm" One of the lines from "Die" is "the futures looking blek and the storm is set to Rise" cool right, Also another connection is "but revenge is always sweet and chaos is the prize" and in her new theme "One thing" it says "Retribution taste so sweet" my theory is "Die" is Neos theme and Romans theme if you listen to "Die" then the score from her fight "One thing" it kinda fits in.
MitchChilladin98 NoBitchNiggas unless that’s a young Roman though but it seems that seems to make sense because he’s doesn’t know where’s the peaceful childhood they once had.
Lyrics It was just fine, We lived in peace, Looked to a happy ending. The days were bright, They shined like gold, Every step ascending. Our dreams came true, Our path was clear, The moon watched safely from above. But every smile, Is not the same, And every heart's not filled with... Love for mankind; Look around it's getting very hard to find. Not every open wound is simply healed by time, But revenge is always sweet, And chaos is the prize. Feel it everywhere and you see it growing, Enemies arise and the hate is flowing, Shattering the moon and bloodying the sky. The machines of war will fuel both sides, And the greed will only grow more lies; Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to die.[1] Where did it go? Our peaceful youth, Seems to be gone forever. And in its place, A life of war, Every truce has severed. We'll live our lives, Watching our backs, Not knowing who to trust or fear. The hate just swallows all the love, And all the, Truth will disappear... Lost and blind; Seems our dreams of peace have all been left behind. It's always said white clouds aren't always silver lined, But the future's looking bleak, And the storm is set to rise. Say goodbye. Time to die. Say goodbye. Just say goodbye. Time to die. (Die...) Feel it everywhere and you see it growing, Enemies arise and the hate is flowing, Shattering the moon and bloodying the sky. The machines of war will fuel both sides, And the greed will only grow more lies; Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to die. Die die die...
Looking at the lyrics to this song again as of v6 c4 being the newest episode and HOLY it feels like massive foreshadowing. The lyrics near the start talking about a happy ending, peaceful youth, the moon watching over them, then later talking about the moon shattering? I know this is supposed to be a Ruby song but damn does it feel like a Salem song now.
I like hearing the evolution of rwby music. it went from a rouge idea of what you wanted the overall theme to character themes to sound like, to a well polished, smooth, true image of what they wanted
no matter how many times i hear this song, i imagine it being how someone shows they were holding back and got pushed to go this far, or even to show people just who the person is and what they can do
For such a happy, cheery, upbeat character....Ruby has some of the darkest songs, like red like roses, die, etc....and we also know the least about her past.
I remember liatening to this song after watching Red vs Blue and thinking, "I keep forgetting to watch this show." And then watched all 5 volumes in one night. Without sleep
So I went backed to the episode which this song played in, and apparently Team RWBY was fighting Roman as it played. In volume 3, his last speech implied that he committed crimes because he believed that was the only way to survive. Did I mention that he asked Ruby to die the way every other Huntress died? Perhaps Roman Torchwick was just like her at some point in his life...
Peaceful Youth. Lived in peace. We’ll live our lives watching our backs. Not knowing who to trust or fear. He stated that the faunas that he is the “greatest exterminator around “ Like he is saying that he is a human killer killing humans. That makes me think this song is coming from Roman’s perspective on his experiences of life and his devotion became black to the Flame that he has now become to be.
This is giving me a deep feeling that Die is a Inner child of Roman Torchwick because the way how it’s pessimistic though the Heroes are not always pessimistic after they lose their place they once called home. In a way there’s some hints that do correlate with One Thing’s lines as they do have the same words that are being used like ‘ Peace, childhood, got each other’s backs, being disarrayed, vengeance is satisfying to Neo and Roman, they do want chaos for their peace, not knowing to trust or fear Cinder. Lost and blind, the Episode title of V6 of The Coming storm of Neo’s comeback is a reference to “ and the storm is set to rise “
This song got me into guitar playing tbh and I still love listening to this soundtrack of kind of this Technical Metal. And ir's not screaming! so that's good!
This is so very true. This song just connects to me as a Millennial who grew up in the US during the 90s and early 2000s until 9/11 happened. After 9/11 it was all just downhill. Afghanistan. Iraq. Credit Crisis of 2008. Wikileaks and the Arab Spring. ISIS. (For some the Trump years and the age of fake news). Covid. The Floyd and Antifa riots. Covid. DC insurrection. It’s been a really shitty two decades. That’s why the song just fits 2020 and 2021 (and especially after 2016, just after the song was written, during the age of fake news and misinformation).

Borrowed from what they should have done in Deep Space 9 after taking over the station and kept getting hacked.
4 years later and this still goes crazy
If you look at the lyrics there are many hints. I mean that the moon is important is pretty obvious at this point. ^^
I believe that summer rose is connected to the moon, heck, on her grave it says, "Thus kindly i *scatter* "
That line is from the poem "The Last Rose of Summer," by Thomas Moore. Everything in RWBY is intentional :)

@@harryshum4139 you sound like Weiss. 😂

no lie when i watched this show i was like"yass"but when i hured the music i was like"YASSS!".so thank you for the lyrics
OOOOH I FINALLY GET IT, when the moon is gone, the grimm will kill everyone and the series will end
AND Salem will get a chance of getting the maidens power
no that's not it me, you're stupid.
@@SweetpeaGB lol
When the moon is gone Salem will activate the Relic and release Jinn but Jinn will kill Salem because Jinn is literally Satan
my favorite thing about this song is that it's when we were formally introduced to Neo
I dont mind the adds
I dont mind the buffer
But when the adds buffer, I suffer
This is a very underrated comment.

6 volumes later and this is still one of my all time favourite RWBY songs. :)
You mean 8 volumes?
@@yoanjuro7092 Unless I'm VERY mistaken, this song was in Volume 2.
Volume 2 + '6 volumes later' = volume 8. Right?
The guitar shredding is off the scales on that solo!

would like to point out the subtle nod to "Die" In Neos comeback music which is dubbed "One thing" which I always felt like that was Neos theme "Kill for kill eye for eye blood for blood it's time to die" now I'm about to blow your minds what's the name of the episode that Neo is featured in? "The coming storm" One of the lines from "Die" is "the futures looking blek and the storm is set to Rise" cool right, Also another connection is "but revenge is always sweet and chaos is the prize" and in her new theme "One thing" it says "Retribution taste so sweet" my theory is "Die" is Neos theme and Romans theme if you listen to "Die" then the score from her fight "One thing" it kinda fits in.
Blowing my mind means staring blank at this paragraph to you.
MitchChilladin98 NoBitchNiggas unless that’s a young Roman though but it seems that seems to make sense because he’s doesn’t know where’s the peaceful childhood they once had.
Most of the dark edgy songs from RWBY somehow relates to the reality that we're live in. It's kinda scary
This song perfectly describes roosterteeth being sold and the state of rwby
:(
:(
I've never even watched RWBY, and this comment made me sad :(
THAT HAPPENED? I'VE BEEN GONE A WHILE
Yep pretty much sums it up right about now.
Rwby has one of the best soundtrack of any show.
Lyrics
It was just fine,
We lived in peace,
Looked to a happy ending.
The days were bright,
They shined like gold,
Every step ascending.
Our dreams came true,
Our path was clear,
The moon watched safely from above.
But every smile,
Is not the same,
And every heart's not filled with...
Love for mankind;
Look around it's getting very hard to find.
Not every open wound is simply healed by time,
But revenge is always sweet,
And chaos is the prize.
Feel it everywhere and you see it growing,
Enemies arise and the hate is flowing,
Shattering the moon and bloodying the sky.
The machines of war will fuel both sides,
And the greed will only grow more lies;
Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to die.[1]
Where did it go?
Our peaceful youth,
Seems to be gone forever.
And in its place,
A life of war,
Every truce has severed.
We'll live our lives,
Watching our backs,
Not knowing who to trust or fear.
The hate just swallows all the love,
And all the,
Truth will disappear...
Lost and blind;
Seems our dreams of peace have all been left behind.
It's always said white clouds aren't always silver lined,
But the future's looking bleak,
And the storm is set to rise.
Say goodbye.
Time to die.
Say goodbye.
Just say goodbye.
Time to die. (Die...)
Feel it everywhere and you see it growing,
Enemies arise and the hate is flowing,
Shattering the moon and bloodying the sky.
The machines of war will fuel both sides,
And the greed will only grow more lies;
Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to die.
Die die die...
The lyrics were already on screen... effort wasted, sorry.
thanks
Looking at the lyrics to this song again as of v6 c4 being the newest episode and HOLY it feels like massive foreshadowing. The lyrics near the start talking about a happy ending, peaceful youth, the moon watching over them, then later talking about the moon shattering? I know this is supposed to be a Ruby song but damn does it feel like a Salem song now.
Pattern recognized: Whenever the background song is about one character's desire to kill another, no actual killing occurs.
Man, volume 6 is great for going back and listening to earlier stuff like this
Nice work, I really like that you make videos like this
Thanks! :)
This song hits different now for some reason
Every one of these lyric videos just turns out perfect~ Good job!
what?
God I remember these songs. Just opened a can of nostalgia.
"Farewell to days of peace 'cause now it's time to die!"
Literally the description of vol. 3
I like hearing the evolution of rwby music. it went from a rouge idea of what you wanted the overall theme to character themes to sound like, to a well polished, smooth, true image of what they wanted
1:15 when you hit puberty
no matter how many times i hear this song, i imagine it being how someone shows they were holding back and got pushed to go this far, or even to show people just who the person is and what they can do
I love it as usual, thank you for making this c:
This is a definite life lesson regarding trust and ambition mix-in.....also can lead to war.
Totally one of my favorite songs in RWBY.
i LOVE this song+your vids
Thanks! :)
For such a happy, cheery, upbeat character....Ruby has some of the darkest songs, like red like roses, die, etc....and we also know the least about her past.
It's not ruby's song. You gonna understand.
@@ydnic77
I actually think it is, I understand it was in the fight between Yang and Neo,but it fits best to her.
Who do you it's for?
This is a RWBY song, it never played alone with a character.
I remember liatening to this song after watching Red vs Blue and thinking, "I keep forgetting to watch this show." And then watched all 5 volumes in one night. Without sleep
That was awesome editing at the end there
So I went backed to the episode which this song played in, and apparently Team RWBY was fighting Roman as it played.
He stated that the faunas that he is the “greatest exterminator around “
Like he is saying that he is a human killer killing humans.
That makes me think this song is coming from Roman’s perspective on his experiences of life and his devotion became black to the Flame that he has now become to be.
If you mess with Ruby and her friends and this starts playing...
*Run.*
Sadly a relevant song in such uncertain times...
So much character development is told through songs in this show I love it
well. this feels relevant right now. encapsulates my thoughts of the future anyway.

This song got me into guitar playing tbh and I still love listening to this soundtrack of kind of this Technical Metal. And ir's not screaming! so that's good!
when you look at how people treat each other now this song oddly just fits
@@atronite here on Brazil we are having this problems since the second world war, than came the communist spies during the cold to put down our old government. For over 7 decades we are going down slowly and it's horrible cause I know I will be alive when it gets worse than ever before.

My god I love the chorus. The whole song is amazing, but something about Casey dropping her voice to a lower pitch gives me chills.

i liked it so much that i ended up making silly gifs to caption it
Epically great job as always Flynt ;)
Wow. I don't want to sound pretentious or 'cheesy' or whatever but, despite being an anime soundtrack this song really hits your heart . More so due to the fact that this doesn't only relate to the show, but the events of real war as well.

I was just listening to a peaceful song before but then I saw RWBY and clicked on it and now I am in the "intense area"
If nothing else, we've now seen that the environmental fallout from the moon's destruction did indeed redden the sky.
