Totally agree with your Topps now assessment. I took my son to see the game Wyatt Langford hit his first homer, an inside the park homer. He's big into MLB the show and loves playing in the massive polo grounds to try and hit inside the park homers so it was fitting that we were able to see his new favorite player able to get his first in that way. It was by far our favorite play this season and so special to be able to see it in person and share in excitement that moment with my son......this past week I bought two copies (1 for each of us) of the topps now card commemorating the homerun (for under $10 shipped). Great video as usual!
To answer the Snowman's question about non sports...I've gotten out of sports cards a little recently so I wasn't planning on checking out his auction house BUT when he mentioned non sports (what I've transitioned to) my ears perked up and I clicked the link!
I've flirted with non sport over the years. Got into Topps Stranger Things a few years ago. Bought one blaster, liked the style and ended up buying another 4 plus a hobby box (got a 1/1 Hopper sketch card). And I collected wrestling cards back in the 80s and 90s. I should look up what's available out there. Maybe one of the shows or movies I'm into have card sets.
I just picked up two Max Muncy pre rookie autographed cards but here's the kicker. The seller listed them as the DODGERS Max Muncy and NOT the Oakland A's Max Muncy. I think that helped me get both for under $9
I want to offer one correction, at 3:20 you state that slabbing a fake card "kills GMA's credibility instantly"...upon doing the slightest amount of research, I feel confident in stating that GMA never actually had any credibility to kill. Other than that, your analysis contained zero errors.
Man, that Vance was a slam dunk. I'd have paid twice as much just to be able to own it for a bit before flipping it. I bid on some non-sports from them. Also, looking forward to browsing that CIA non-sports.
Does any grading company do a worse job on slabbing a smaller card then PSA, that Vance card looks awful. Hard to believe they are the leading grading company!! On a good note your content is the best!!
"Reprint" Autos unfortunately are the only way most collectors will ever have that person's signature. As long as the Seller is transparent then it's on the Buyer to recognize that it is not a real autograph.

Hey i have a pretty large collection probably over 50k cards I've collected over the last 30 yrs I'm looking to get 10k for the entire collection. 90's inserts, metal universe, fleer ultra baseball, thousands of rookie cards, jordans, autos, ultra modern and vintage with some 1950's graded baseball and some graded pre war grades cards. Just a little junk wax not much maybe onky 10-15% of the collection is junk wax
I have the same feeling on the Detroit hometown heroes card. I love the idea and if you are a Detroit fan great but it slips into this uncanny valley for sports cards like something is not right. I realize its a team issue postcard set but to have a Gretzky and Messier rookie in it still seems like a huge bargain. Though the biggest one would be the Dazzy Vance, a card from when he was playing and graded for under 50$ seems ridiculous no matter how obscure the set is.

Beckett has really fallen out of favor with collectors in the last few years because of a number of reasons. Including poor customer service, very slow turnaround times, and some curious business decisions and scandals.
Here’s a tidbit about the fake Satchel Paige. It’s actually against eBay’s policy to list items with unknown authenticity. “Do not list an item if you are not certain it is authentic or if an authenticator has been unable to confirm its authenticity” So as a seller you are not protected by “hedging” the authenticity of an item. It’s still considered a counterfeit and the buyer has the right to request a refund.
With it recently being released, I wonder what your thoughts are on Panini Stars and Stripes. Many don't like it, but I see there being good long-term value if you target the right players. The example I give is someone like Aaron Judge. His First Bowman auto and Tools Chrome RC auto is out of reach for many. But if he was on the U16 team 15 years ago and had a Stars and Stripes auto, that would be a more affordable consolation, while still being a fairly pricy, for me, card. It doesn't have the same issue other Panini baseball products have, as they actually can show the logo for Team USA. I already know that there is short term value if you do your homework pre draft. I got a Spencer Torkelson pre draft and sold it before he got his first chrome auto. I paid $10, sold it about a month later for $120 and about a month after that it was selling for $50 or less. But I am.curious to hear yours and others thoughts on any long-term potential. I do think there's something to be said for it being the first autographed card for all of them.

If a grading company doesn’t guarantee the grade of the card in the holder and can’t even authenticate it to begin with, then it’s really up to us to eradicate them from the hobby. Vote with your dollars people, don’t buy GMA and BGS trimmed and fake garbage

for the MJ card, reprint is not true right? a re-print means its a copy of an existing card, it seems like just fake
