Thank you for all of your work on this channel. I play this with my 13 year old daughter and when I went looking for a good channel to sub to for info and tips, yours won hands down.
You mentioned in a previous video that this is what you're doing full time for work - good for you! I'm 40-something and it's super important to always do what you love. Your channel is a refreshing change from some of the others that are either putting up fake servers (no, you can't catch Mew, guys) or they just want you to buy their stuff. Hell, I WANT to buy a shirt or two from you BECAUSE you give us all great information and you seem like a super nice young man, go right now and thank your parents for raising and amazing young man - they did good and you seem to be staying true to yourself and who you are. Keep showing YOU in the videos - that helps a lot, as I'm sure you know.
I also LOVE that you are into the spirit of the game. To travel, to learn about new areas and to experience the social aspect. The social aspect is one of my favorite parts. Months ago we were parked in front of a gym, tearing it down and claiming it for our team. A young man on a skateboard came by our open window and waved his phone at us "Hey, is that you guys".... "Yes, I take it that was your pokemon we just took out".... "Yeah, but don't think you're going to keep the gym, it's mine, it's a point of pride with me"..... "Oh yeah?"..... "Yeah (laughs and shows us his HUGE Dragonite)".... "Uh, okay, but don't worry, son, you might get it back THIS time, but we'll be back". We had a great time for 30 minutes talking to this kid and him showing us stuff and us showing him. We also found a FABULOUS coffee place we didn't know existed because of him.
Good for you. Keep up the great work and good luck - I'm watching to see what you do in the future but I know it's going to be amazing. Hopefully you'll make enough off of the shirts to do team specific (sorry, Instinct is our sworn enemy - we're Mystic all the way over here) ;)

Great comment! I totally agree with you, Nick is a great guy and he is putting a lot of love in his videos.
And I also agree about the social aspect of pokemon go, I am 19 years old and one day I also had a nice talk with a 43-year old who is playing pokemon go with his son, buying lure-modules so he can activate them for his child when they go out. It's a great thing, we talked about many different things while we were catching pokemon together at a spot with some pokestops with lures.
Fortunately there are not just those guys who are making the game bad but also people who enjoy playing it.
(I'm not a native speaker, hopefully you can understand everything :o)

Yeah, we've been lucky and met some amazing folks out there! Good for you for taking time to hang out with one of us not quite old folks ;) We like playing too (plus it gives our kids something to teach us - dude, my daughter is ALL about the Pokemon talking about generation 2 and 3 and.... ahhhhh!!!! Too many monsters!) ;)

Great video as usual. :-) Thanks!
I work in a suburban industrial park and I ride my bike around a few times a day between two nearby pokestops about a half mile apart. There were always just a few distinct sparse spawn locations so this particular tip is extra valuable to me.
HOWEVER... TODAY THERE APPEARED MANY NEW SPAWNS! I almost couldn't keep up with them. I've been riding this route daily for many weeks and the difference is indeed quite significant! My catch rate on this route has increased by more than 4 times. Something has definitely changed as to the spawn locations.

better to evolve high cp with low IV's or low cp with good IV's? say a 300 bulbasuar with 90% v. a Bulbasuar with 600 cp but 65% iv?

    • @Fremder14
      @Fremder14 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

better wait for that perfect pokemon with good ivs and decent CP ... this game is about patience if u are playing for the long run

    • @dksoulstice6040
      @dksoulstice6040 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

600 CP. Easily. 300 CP Bulbasaur may have better IVs but it'll take a ton of Stardust to max out and once it's finally maxed, it won't even have a very good CP level.
IVs are mentioned often by PoGo TH-cam channels and players, but this isn't the main series where they play a very significant role. IVs aren't really a big deal in Pokemon Go.
For example, thanks to the Pokedex bug, all my Pidgeots have atrocious IVs and yet every single one of them takes down Snorlax, Vaporeon, Arcanine etc. with no problem.
So TL;DR CP>IV perfection in most cases. The only exception I make to this rule is when it comes to Pokemon that will take me a long time to evolve. I've been sitting on a Venusaur evolution for nearly two months because starter Pokemon are very hard to come by. Once I get my Venusaur, it'll be a very long time before I get another one. So I may as well wait to evolve a good one.
Eevee on the other hand is quite common around here so if I find a 700+ CP Eevee with bad IVs, it's still getting evolved because I can easily get more.

I have no pokestops nearby ( closest one is about 5 blocks away ) yet i have gotten a tentacruel, 3 tentacool, 15 slowpokes, 35 psyducks, 2 kabutos, 1 pikachu, 1 venusar, 2 kabutos, 1 eevee, 2 magmars, 1 growlithe, 2 dratinis, 1 dragonair, 1 clefairy and 2 jigglypuffs outside of my house.

First I want to say thank you for all the advice and the time you put into creating your videos.
I live in a corner of a small town and thankfully I found two points across the street that spawn rare pokemon. The moment I see a rare Pokemon on my sightings list 95% of the time it's at the closest spawn point across the street and if not, at the second point 80 feet away.

I have a spawn point that spawns 4 Drowzees then a Pidgey, a Venonat and two Gastlys every 30 minutes always. Tho sometimes the pattern is interrupted by an Oddish or another common pokemon. Will it ever change? It's getting kinda dissapointing cuz I have 50 million Hypnos and like 5 Venomoths and a perfect Gengar.

i don't understand why we need to collect coins, why can't the game just automatically do it for us..if you win a battle and forget to collect coins, they are gone..wtf

    • @fang8459

cause than you would only be able to get 10coins per day because when you collect the coins you have to wait 22hours or so until you can collect the next ones... but now if you have 3 gyms taken over an than collect they coins you get 30 coins^^

    Hey Nick!
I guess you've noticed already, but it seems like nests have changed again.
I live in Budapest, Hungary, and since I really don't know about any local community (or research into my city's nests), I'll post 'em here if that's okay.
1, "Városliget" (an area like Central Park in NY, only much smaller, near Heroes' Square) - was a Bulbasaur nest since the game's release, now Ekans nest.
2, Aréna Plaza (near Keleti railway station - no longer a nest anymore it seems (was Magmar, and Electabuzz before that).
3, St. Margaret's Island - Magmar nest (was Rhydon, and Exeggcute before that).
4, Gazdagrét (outskirts district on the Buda side) - Horsea (was Jigglypuff, and before that, Vulpix nest / habitat).
5, Citadella - Vulpix (was Squirtle, and ??? before that afaik)
That's all I've gathered so far on my own, hopefully it helps someone who lives here / visits Budapest.
    Cheers :)

Reporting in from West London. The spawning in my neighborhood is much improved. I'm at the quiet end of some streets. We have two gyms and 4 Pokestops at the end of the block, but otherwise it's a long walk (10 minutes) to get to any others in the area. Until today I had periodic pidgey and rattata spawn on my kitchen island. But today? They're spawning like crazy! I caught an eevee in the middle of an intersection on the way to the church gym, and just tonight I caught a shelder in my bedroom. Pretty nice improvement!! I'm heading to Kingston today, looking forward to seeing the new spawn there too!

Near my house there was a Squirtle spawn point, every day at 6:30. And at the hotel I work at, I noticed rare spawns in the ladies' bathroom often, I should check out the time and keep a tab on that. But currently that spawn point literally has given me so many great rare ones, like today a Gyarados, and a few days ago there was a Porygon as well.

    Hi Nick!
First of all, thank you for all the great work and the energy you put in this channel. This is awesome.
I have a question for you (maybe for the Q&A). Recently, i battled many level 10 gym and i saw that higher the level of the gym is, the most you decrease (in term of points) the prestige of that gym.
BUT, by how many points? I used my best pokemons to battle these gyms because of the high level of them. I noticed that when i won the first battle (the battle of the whole gym i mean), i decreased the "prestige" of the gym by around 4500-5000 points and then it decreased exponentially.
My question is: If you battle these gyms with weakest pokemons using perfect dodging and type advantage, will you decrease as much as if you used your best pokemons? Is it based on the same principle when you try to increase the prestige of a gym held by your team?
Probably you'll say that it would be nearly impossible to fight a level 10 gym with weak pokemons but maybe it's the same mechanic with level 5, level 6..gym.
Sorry for my bad english, best luck for your channel!
