    My advice for anyone thinking about pulling all teeth and getting snap in. Make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing. Had my teeth pulled on bottom. Three months in and I still don't have any temps. I developed difficulty swallowing which sent me to the hospital because I can't eat or drink properly. Now I've developed anxiety over swallowing. Don't know exactly what happened but it's a serious problem. Wish I kept my bad teeth, at least could eat. Hopefully I'll get used to this.

      I read that a speech pathologist can help retrain the swallowing...I have a few teeth in back but the front were pulled 2 weeks ago...I am eating mushy food and smoothies and soups...very little at a time....also quiches.......I have swallowing issues as it is..and I understand.........I cannot afford implants right now.....I am looking to get a partial...for now.....How are you doing now?

    I will be getting exactly this plan for myself, snap in denture with 2 implants for lower and regular denture for the top. My choice is mainly due to budget. Each implant costs too much for me. If money is no object, of course I'd like at least 4 implants each for top and bottom but it's too much. So this is what I have decided on. Perhaps in future if I have the extra money, I will add implants to the top jaw as well. This video has given me more confidence that I have made the right choice for myself at this time. Thank you so much!

Have had my implants exposed and my old denture modified with space for the posts now that they are capped. So looking forward to the end result, it's amazing how we take for granted simply eating foods we like. Complete diet change for me the past 4 months - ready to enjoy food again (hopefully!).

    Teeth pulled in FEB 2024, eight implants placed four upper and four lower. The bottom will be snap on, the top will have a bar.
    One top implant failed and I had it replaced last week with a thicker and more aggressively threaded implant with grafting compound.
    Scheduled for implant exposure one June to have the temp screw removed and the post put in. My prosthodontist and oral surgeon are going slower than I want; however, watching these type videos, I find that I see where they are looking out for my long term oral health.
    I’m still anxious for June to get here so I can stop using adhesive.

    Very interesting. Thanks for the video. I'm in a holding pattern right now as to what to do with my teeth so I find your videos very informative. What is the standard treatment for infection around the implant? Antibiotics or removal of implant? I only ask because I have lousy dental insurance. Lol Thanks again.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're welcome, thanks very much for watching. Since implants are different than teeth, infections around implants tend to occur around the top of the implant, not down at the tip of the implant in the jawbone like they can with a tooth. If it's caught early, treating it usually involves cleaning around the implant and showing the person how to keep it clean at home. Once you lose bone around an implant, then it gets tricky. Best would be to remove the implant. Some dentists and specialists will try to surgically clean the implant and place a bone graft around it. The results of that procedure aren't great. The newer implant designs that are popular nowadays tend to hold bone better than older implant designs.

    The other issue is I have sinus issues thus feel the top will not stay in with just 2 implants on top.
    I am fearful I need 4 on top and 4 on bottom.
    The dentist is telling me he can avoid the sinus on top?
    Is that possible?
    And can I eventually get 4 on 1 permanent implants using the same implants?

      Hi, tori can be removed. I always recommend 4 implants for upper snap in dentures. Sinus lifts are usually not a big deal unless you have no bone over your sinus. Implants for snap in dentures may not work for all on 4 fixed teeth. This video may give you some more information, th-cam.com/video/f7TV9CsFNeE/w-d-xo.html

      Yes they do. Most people need to use superfloss or a proxybrush to clean underneath an all on 4. The underside of the all on 4 also needs to be properly shaped so that it can be cleaned, otherwise you'll get a bad taste and odor if you can't clean it.
