"You were telling me, only the other night, how you wanted to spend the rest of your life in his house. Well now that is possible. I have arranged it." Yes, Judith is about as savage and sadistic with Gregory as Barnabas was with his grandfather.
I vividly remember watching the original Dark Shadows when I was a young lad, alone in the house, hearing all the creaks and groans of the house and it terrified me. Now - I see a lot of brilliant overacting and schlock, lol. Thanks for this - Love it!
I lived in an old Yacht and Beach club had had towers so our kitchen was a tower and so was part of our living room and one day I noticed in a closet we had that the wall didn't go all the way to the floor. I was only 9 years old and was unable to find out what was behind the fake wall so I got a young man who was 18 to go with me and remove what was a board and not a real wall and behind it was an old broken down staircase. I could see light at the end and there was a big lock. It turned out it went to the ladies room. The story was that the man who had once lived here did a lot of gambling I guess in the house and had people come and maybe also drinking, so he had this secret stairway done in case the police would come as they wouldn't expect him to come out the Ladies room:) Sadly it burned down some years ago and I cried my eyes out when I saw it burning in the news I could just watch our apartment on fire and I just couldn't stop crying. I loved this house as it was like my own Collinwood. I went there with my daughter 14 years ago they were building a new modern club instead and thankfully I got inside the grounds even though non members was not allowed I just pretended to belong so I could show my daughter how I grew up. Dark Shadows really got our imagination going back then didn't it?
I ran home from the bus each day to watch my show as a very young teen. And every night I was terrified! Now I understand everything I didn't back then and I love this show!
Judith has gotten the last laugh. Trask's days ARE numbered! Also, I noticed that when Trask tried to scare Barnabas with that cross, it didn't even phase Barnabas. Whatever is going on with Barnabas, it's working in his favor! I like Barnabas, and hope he is able to fix things for the future of the Collins family! ~Janet in Canada
Trask! One of my favorite characters, Lacey was perfection in this. Trask Scared the wazz out of me as a young teen in the 60’s. A devoted member of the “Ran Home From School Every Day to Watch Dark Shadows” club.
The end of Trask is very near. That was too cool the way Judith surprised him in the foyer and the shocking reaction on his face. No matter how Trask tries to justify his actions and lies. Judith sees him for what he really is.
One of the high spots in the Dark Shadows series was when Reverend Trask was bricked up in the wall in the basement of the old house by Barnabas Collins. It was so amazing the day that show air after school we were leaving school at 3 pm my friend Linda Defranco and I stopped in to the local store Chris's and bought 10 packs of Dark Shadows him with the cards in them and when I opened my packs every pack had 2 Trask cards in each pack and when I got home Trask was being bricked up in the wall by Barnabas . The cards were an Omen to come for the Reverend Trask.
I was looking for a vampire movie and I found this tv show. Absolutely love it. I don’t care how old this tv show , I think it’s Amazing show. Always love vampires movie 🥰❤️
Jerry Lacy played that part very convincingly. It just so happens that I have the complete series on DVD’s and I’m up to this episode right now. This is the second time I’m going thru it and I had forgotten some of the story lines being the last time I ran thru it was about 4-5 years ago. I hope Jerry Lacy is still well.
@@MrMaxismybabySame school. Same Teacher for Tim and Barnabas in perfecting the art of masonry. Each suspecting that they would trap a Trask of their own.🧱🧱🧱🧱
they had a thing for brickin jerry lacy up in places. joan bennet and louis edmonds seemed to have such fun in this episode! lacy was a fantastic actor! almost like they were trying to crack up jerry lacy!
Damned sporting of Gregory to wait till the mortar set hard before trying to knock down the wall. Nice point work on the inside of the wall two...except the last two bricks.
Sometime between Trask's suicide in 1897 and when David and Amy found his skelton 70 years later, he somehow sat upright after he changed into a red shirt.
It was Quentin that David and Amy found alright. But the whole point of Barnabas' time trip to 1897 was to change the course of the future that would lead to the Collins family being driven out of Collinwood and David's death at age 12. Barnabas' actions in 1897 averts that fate. It is now Gregory Trask who was and still is bricked up in that room in the west wing. David and Amy now never went to that room.
Yep, that's the end of Gregory Trask after all! Trask is such a corrupted, a coward, an evil & a villain who conspires with Aristede in an attempt to kill Judith in silence. Both Judith & Tim Shaw got together & locked Trask up in Quentin's room. Trask always keeps begging Judith for mercy. But in the end, he committed suicide for his heinous crimes of the murder of his first wife Minerva & attempted murder of his second wife Judith. Therefore, he automatically sent himself to Hell. Serves him right! 👍👍✌✌
originally Quentin had died in the main time line by Beth and was found in the tower room........so he didn't know about Trask being bricked up in his room..........when David and Amy found Quentin's room and found the skeleton they assumed it was Quention. another interesting thing is we found out why the present day Collins family did not know about Barnabas. Edward was never told the family secret because Edith Collins died before she told him...
One thing I don’t understand. Are there not any windows in that room? Could Trask not open a window and crawl out? Trask sounds like a scared child there at the end.
Damned sporting of Gregory to wait till the mortar set hard before trying to knock down the wall. Nice point work on the inside of the wall two...except the last two bricks.
Imagine if Trask had found the key 15 minutes sooner. Then he could have busted out before the brick wall was finished. In other words, a plot point that only worked out the way it did due to sheer luck...
Arysteed love this character in such evilness, fear and loyalty he has touch of madness. U know what's funny? They planned the murder of each other at the same night awo! Soul mates 😂 😂 😁
Too bad Eric Braeden was too busy on night time TV back in those years. He would have been great in that role or some other character. Or Bill Malloy’s long lost son looking for revenge against the Collins family and falling in love with Carolyn.
One of the best parts of the series. Jerry Lacy was such a great villain.
He certainly was
He was! I remember hating him when I first watched these episodes in the late 60's
by far the best joan bennett episode! she was awesome!

it was a a half our play put on every day! and the whole thing was practically live!
Finally, we don't have to listen to any more of Trask's insufferable, pompous, arrogant and righteous rantings. A truly great episode!
I wish 1897 would never End ..
I know, right?
Edward was so smug here, knowing that every word out of Trask's mouth was a big fat lie.
Trask was annoying.
That arrogant, playful little smirk on Judith's face is the "ah ha,I got you now" justice....

I've never seen Tim Shaw happier than when he bricked the wall

Judith: *Bricks up a Trask
Barnabas: *Bricks up a Trask
And she wonders how they're related
"Collinwood is my home now. I intend to spend the rest of my life here."
Ah, how Gregory never suspected just how right he would be on that score.
Most houses figuratively have skeletons in the closet. Collinwood literally has one in Quentin's room.
And both trasks had it coming
@@njpubadjuster3710 EPISODES LATER IN THE FUTURE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS QUENTINS SKELETON IN THAT ROOM . NO DNA TESTING IN THEM DAYS!

Only villain better than Trask was the Count
you've got to love judiths revenge joan bennett was a legend got rest her soul.
What Great Hair!
Loved that episode! One of the best!
Tim Bradshaw must have gone to the same bricklaying school, as Barnabas.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brickwork and masonry are obviously the Collins' family hobbies, so Judith no doubt gave Tim the crash course.

@2:26, the look, on lying Gregory's face, was priceless!\, when he saw Judith, after lying to Edward. And, Edward was looking forward to it, too!
I remember watching this when it originally aired and being soooo satisfied.

The show never really recovered after the end of 1897,though l was ready for that sequence to conclude.
My mom acts like Trask when I talk about Michael damian Danny Romalotti from the young and the restless soap opera lol
had they continued the series they might have they might have dived further into exactly what the real story was with trask!
It’s always fun to play what if. They no doubt would have found a way to turn him into a sympathetic character via some back story.
I loved every character he played.
Trashy Trask is, apiece of, work

Tim Shaw was very happy

Sorry I didn’t see that he did think of the window. Looks like the shutters had been nailed or boarded shut.
I think the windows had been bricked up as well. Judith was most thorough in her planning for the future.

Overacting on par with Star Trek. Trask is pure comedy.
