I think elephants maybe on an equal level with humans. They just are different. But intellectually and emotionally equal. Just without opposable thumbs and instead they have trunks and other physical differences.

Nothing like reverse psychology! Looks like he will mature into a handsome Bull elephant! My heart always goes out to the keepers when you can see how they struggle to pick up these elephants! It’s very different when the elephant is less than a month old. Having pulled muscles in my back a few times in my life I hope that it doesn’t effect them much. I was wondering if a forklift outfitted with a platform at the airport couldn’t be used when off loading the elephant to load it onto the truck?

Oldepe is a plucky one! I was so thrilled to meet him last week at the Ithumba reintegration unit. I hold him in my prayers and wish him a long and healthy life 🙏💜
One other adorable baby with a tiny face at the beginning ! and very healthy at the end of the video ! I realize that each time an orphan arrive in a nursery ! it’s a so big 2nd trauma !! without knowing where they are ! who are these green humans with an other language ! it is like if we were rescued by nice aliens ! but these babies have this capacity to feel love and care ! cuddles big hugs and milk bottles to survive in an other family then they meet the other orphans and that help them so much I admire them the most possible I can !! 💕🐘💕🥰👼🤗🇫🇷🎈
I wonder if the game of hide and seek was what got him separated from his original herd. Thankfully the cycle has been broken and he has settled into his new herds routine. The other orphans would teach him how its done at SWT 😉
It never occurred to me that one that size would be dangerous, for some reason I just felt like they would instantly accept that they are around people that will help, maybe fear but wow, seeing the keeper jump out of the way twice really opened my eyes I guess I was naive to think that even the young ones wouldnt try to attack
