Thank you guys for doing your very best to rescue and rehabilitate theses beautiful animals. This is heartwarming and at the same time I feel sad that they've been orphaned because these monster poachers and consumers killed their families. You're a heaven sent for them.
It is so sad to hear that these precious little babies pass on without getting a chance at life that they deserve..God bless these precious little creatures and the people that work so hard to help them
What an incredible organization of people. It is just $50 to sponsor an orphan like this for the year. This group does incredible things. Also you can really make an impact by telling anyone you know - never buy ivory and never ride an elephant.
Also, maybe consider NEVER going to a Zoo...seeing animals caged up and viewed simply for the amusement of humans should be outlawed. Imagine if it were YOU!
That was such a sweet baby girl. She was so friendly. Its heart breaking that she didn't make it. I know you guys were really sad to loose her. You guys do so much good and know you can't save them all, but that don't make you feel any better when a precious little life is lost.
Ya'll did everything that could be done for this baby. At least she was rescued & until her last breath knew nothing but care & a lot of love God bless all of you
It's so sad to know she's saved.. and to die in a few days.. poor baby ! She was so gentle :'( !! She loved her keepers as soon as she saw them !! Thanks DSWT for all the help you provide to each baby
Oh gawd, I can't even write this without crying, I can't see what Im typing....I think she's been holding on by a string. when she was finally rescued, she was so happy & relieved that for once in her short life she was able to relax. Her mind & body was able to rest and just couldn't fight anymore. This kinda remind me about reading on the liberation of one of the horror nazi camp. When the US soldiers came & rescue what was left of the prisoners. They said some of the POW survived through the whole thing but die on the day or a couple days later after the rescue. I kmow its Different situations but same tragedy to me. This is the first time I saw this video and it will be the last. Anything about elephants especially the babies dying, just kills me. It breaks my heart to pieces. I try to avoid the sad videos. Im gonna be crying all day thinking about this baby.
i know their heartbroken after trying to save lumo im so sorry for your loss god bless all of you your teams worked hard for lumo thank you so much for your hard work
Heartbreaking for everyone , especially the keeprs who worked so hard adn tirelessly around the clock to resuce, capture, release him safely adter a long aduous, journey/flight. so sad,
Some of them just cannot live without their mothers. The more I learn about the incredible mother-baby bond elephants have, the more amazed I am that any of them live at all. It speaks to the incredible skill & dedication of the keepers.
I find it amazing how gentle these keepers are. I know very few men like this. Is this part of the national character, or are they learning from the elephants?
They are trained how to raise an elephant (Of course they love what they do too). But baby elephants actually need that kind of attention and love 24/7, otherwise they die. The first elephant Daphne Sheldrick tried to rescue in 1977 thrived well for 6 months with Daphne working hard on optimizing the procedures and milk formula. But when Daphne needed to be away for 4 days because of her daughters wedding, the elephant died. Because Daphne was it's main caregiver and Daphne said, the elephant had died because of a broken heart. Daphne Sheldrick gave all her wisdom of 40 years to her staff and of course to her daughter. Like human babies and toddlers - without an "attachment figure" - baby elephants die. (Sorry for my english, I am European).
Kathryn my god you have beautiful English I am impressed.everything you wrote is absolutely correct.the British are European too don't mind the brexit vote, they cannot run away from their european identity.
That poor elephant at the end was a real tug on my heart. That walk must have been exhausting. I hope that guy wasn’t going to strike her with that stick
I’ve been following the DSWT and Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand for about 2 years’ now. But before I watch a DSWT video, I quickly scroll through the comments and see if the rescued baby elephant survived or not. If not, I move on to the next video because it just breaks my heart into pieces, and I can’t watch! Anyone else do this?❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️
I wonder what else could have been done. Maybe another iv drip and just resting. When they get the calves so far gone and dehydrated it is difficult to save them.
The bady elephant, is a brave little warrior,so friendly ,thank you team and god bless you
it must be so heartbreaking for the keepers when the baby make it to the sanctuary but still dies despite their heroic efforts. RIP little one
Only comforting thing is that she died in good loving hands. RIP.

I just added an event to my bucket list: Sponsor an elephant before my life is out.
The same Dude. Gonna start next month. :)
i have 2 with one more to decide upon xxx
Thank you to the loving men who rescued this beautiful creature and cared for her! Love you!!!!❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘
at the beginning of the video i knew the baby was still in shock, he was still looking for his mom , so sad
Until the end, I thought she was saved ............. it's terrible, she was so confident in the guards that I can not accept more ... .........
When the poachers kill the mothers they are taking two lives. Poor little soul, but at least she didn't die alone and unloved.
😭😭💞💞💞
Sad...
So sad to know that the mortality rate is higher than the survival chance...
Poor baby

Baby 🐘 just wanted her mama 🐘
😭😭😭
So sad.
How do we find out which elephants make it and those that die?
😞😔😖
her mom carried her for 22 month and lost for only 2 months 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
🐘😭😭😭💔💔💔❤❤❤❤🙏🙏
😥😥😥💔💔💔
Малышка такая кроа, мне очень жаль что она покинула этот мир😥😥😥💔🙏
the response needs to happen earlier. I can see it is difficult as the elephants are camouflage against the large landscape.
