I have watched many videos about Sheldrick rescues, but this one shows me how PREPARED they are, and how each rescue is like a small military expedition, meaning they are PREPARED FOR ANYTHING. Sheldrick KEEPERS and STAFF are simply amazing.
Rogernamvet, yes that is true. Each person has their job/mission. They all come together to reach the same end goal of caring for these beautiful creatures with everything they have. The same as any team/unit should work to complete the mission at hand. I love watching these videos. It calms me. I smile and laugh and any anxiety is washed away. No med can top watching these. God bless you, Roger. One vet to another.
the natives caring to get the word to them is amazing too. they care so much about their land and all who live in it and call it home. they are the ones with the perfect balance. they live off the land, but they also protect it strongly! so much love and respect for all involved. it showed that one native man stood over this baby for 2 days!!! to make sure nothing more hurt it. you can tell the tail, hyena thing is a bit old. poor baby muct have run into those woods to hide from predators....omg he was even crying...elephants do cry! and he was. and omg how those babies literally ran in to greet him, and tell him that eveything was ok now...omg goose bumps over here. so many playing such a big part to rescue this one lone baby.....in the US most people, including govt groups designed to help would be more inclined to think ahhh its only one let nature take its course. not over there! each life matters there! we are the civilized one? ahh i think not!
I have just witnessed the most handsome man ever, look at the man with all the coloured clothing, the one who has been looking over the calf for two days.
I know I was thinking the same thing, sooo handsome!! I also think one of the keepers, Peter Mbutu is super handsome, he looks like the black Dolf Lundgren.
these guys are SO amazing. Just the long days they endure leaving their camp, driving, flying, picking up the orphan, flying, driving, and getting the baby back, all in one day. They’re amazing guys.❤
Yes. They are respectful, courteous, calm, cooperative, orderly, sensible, non-emotional, non-reactive, calm yet more, very mature in their actions and interaction. They are a "well-oiled" team that is very impressive. Their personal maturity is worthy of high esteem and notice. 👏
These keepers and the whole crew are united in their goal. That is taking the very best care possible of their charges. Peaches, we in the U.S. tend to be divided, single minded and selfish. When I was young, it wasn't like that. Everyone watched out for the people in our community. We helped when we were needed and received the same. Our people have changed, and not for the better. We must again take up those values of long ago for the good of our country and her people, indeed the world. Blessings!
I have witnessed countless animal captures and usually shout "Cover those eyes" and "be silent". You did both. Makes it easier on everyone, and especially the animal. Great videos.
So wonderful to see the Calf was given RESCUE REMEDY. These homeopathic remedies from plants are so wonderful for all living creatures. As always my heart goes out to the keepers and the herd of babies because it is their skill and love that saves these orphans in a way that they can move past their trauma and live the life of wild and free elephants. Blessed Be to All. 🙏🏼🌈🌺
Could not agree more Patricia! My dearest friend is a homeopathic practioner, so I know the wonders of her remedies. This little angel so needed that after his rescue. Bless him ♡♡
Everyone needs to stop having inappropriate shallow superficial discussions and focus on the Ellie and the work being done to help this Ellie and all other animals and life. Please! Thank you.
Happy to share it is 2024 now and the work continues! Those who have made it past the vulnerable ages 1 and 2 have grown up and had babies of their own in the wild. The work continues. Daphne Sheldrick passed away in 2018 but her family - daughter Angela Sheldrick and her 2 sons + the entire staff continue to perform miracles. There are eyes in the sky now and so much advancement. I visited my foster baby on June 1, 2024.
Once again heroes danes a life ! this baby seems adorable ! he won’t be alone ever !! it’s amazing to watch the others orphans greeting and welcome him’!!!! ! they are more kind than human !!! 💕🐘🥵🥰😘🤗🇫🇷
i dont know how any human being could ever harm an elephant. i mean they are so spiritual, kind, and loving . way more so than people. they welcome every newcomer and love them, help them be calm, and help learn to trust the keepers. they are majestic! truly a gift to mankind.
I just wanted to thank all the donors for providing amazing elephant hunting in the future. You know whtn these babies you all fall for and foolishly write checks ti support. When they become enormous eating machines and are dropped in a shrinking habitat they will start destroying ecosystems and will most definitely need to be culled or hunted. Talk about a target rich environment 😂😂😂Thanks donors much obliged. !
There are very good people on Earth, and some of the best can be seen right here on this vid. Thanks to all who help rescue these poor bewildered orphans. Thank you from my heart to DSWTKENYA.
Poor baby. In the plane his eyes looked terrified. He tried to protect himself. I wonder what happened to his mama? It’s like the other elephants told him it would be okay.
It's always the same Jeep marked 80 and it's always the same smiling and waving happy keepers of dswtkenya that shows that despite not so much a great resource these people are happy to help orphaned elephants. Salutes!
wow, i am going to find that, and do it...they never really post anything about links to help. they should. i appreciate that they dont throw it down all readers/watchers throats, but they should push it a bit...thankyou for reminding me...i will find the link or the site...i want to help too....
9:11 I was shocked at this still frame. I really didn’t think he was that big! Thank God he’s safe. Even without his whole tail he’s and adorable Ele! My, my, my...He’s a big boy! DSWT, THERES NO ONE THAT COMPARES TO YOU! You ALL are truly the “Guardians of The Elephants”! God bless you all greatly!
We owe these people so much. They are so dedicated to their task. These animals are much like our children, how stressful it must be for them to loose their mother. The death penalty should be an option for any body responsible for the death or maiming of a wild animal. (Poison Spears and snares, guns.) The crimes would stop over night.
There isn’t a Keeper I haven’t admired. What dedicated men they are! Are there any female keepers or anti poaching rangers! During rescues are keepers ever injured? Angela a future video that would be interesting would be about the native citizens who also assist because of their reference for elephants. They must be very helpful in being “eyes and ears” out in the vastness of Kenya!
In fact, the dswtkenya should consider training the tribes to protect elephants n rhinos. Give some welfares to the tribes like Lopuno for his kind-hearted to the animals. It is also a way of encouragement .
glad to see kanjoro is safe,he lost his mother due to...?,just seeing the other orphans welcoming kanjoro made me tear...elephants are amazing sensitive animals!!!
I joined the SWT family 2years ago and am happily supporting two babies (so far). These videos of the amazing work done by the SWT are a constant reminder that there are still Good people in this world.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your jobs are so necessary these days. To think we can destroy a species such as the Northern white Rhino in 2 centuries, that have existed 65 million years..
🇦🇺🦘🐨💓🤜🏻🤛🏾👏🏼🙌 Kanjoro, your sweet little tail😿losing your Mummy & family😿, what fear & abandonment you must have felt😟 To now the joy of all this loving on you, from your new Eli baby sisters & your wonderful Rescuers & Carers…that’s a happy ending🤗
With most of the Sheldrick rescue videos the portion of the flights are avtad too long.. We'd like to see more of the elephants' adjustment in the orphanage
Is their a “ common” language within the diverse native population or do they only speak the language of their own indigenous tribe? Also all the Keepers, must come from different indigenous native Kenyan tribal people with their own unique cultures and beliefs, yet the Keepers seem to speak a “special elephant language”. How was this language developed because I find it fascinating that even when the orphaned elephants finally do join wild elephants and bear young of their own, to see them purposely bring their babies for the Keepers to see and even touch their babies it seems they are telling their babies, as well as the wild elephants that if harm comes to any of them they should know to trust the Keepers to help them. It is also fascinating that the older orphans still residing in the nursery know how (instinctively) to act giving comfort by caressing and surrounding the tinier babies the way you observe other groups of elephants do in the wild. Do you know if the female orphans who have shown the behavior that a wild matriarch exhibits, how many of the female orphans have become matriarchs in the wild and how they have formed a herd of their own? Also how does the way they have communicated as orphans in the nursery, then living at the stockades, does their vocalizations change as they begin interacting with the wild elephants? Do you know if the elephant herds that live in diverse areas have their “own” unique elephant language? I find the unique differences between African and Asian expressive “language” to be so awesomely different even though both species have some commonalities in language abilities.
I also wondered what Rescue Remedy was. Is it part tranquilizer, vitamins, electrolytes, or what? I looked in my dictionary but it isn't there. Probably because my dictionary is so old. :( Could someone tell me?
Holly Rockwell, Rescue Remedy is a homeopathic remedy generally used for both physical and emotional trauma. It will calm and ease pain and discomfort. It's very effective. I have used it myself and have many friends who prefer natural things of the earth for healing and to stay well. It can be purchased in health food stores or on the internet. Blessings to you!
i love these stories, and today i could have just cried my eyes out. watching these beautiful natives. they are so wonderful, so in touch with nature. they eat from the land, but they also protect all of its nature. all of its wildlife. nothing is wasted. nothing is thought of as no big deal.like USA hunters-who suck! african natives , like american indians are so spiritual. they care so much. if it wasnt for us horrible ? civilized people eating live animals, and domestic animals like the chinese, killing animals for ivory which is so pathetic, maiming and torturing animals for parts of it-bile from moon bears in china _yes again the chinese! and cutting off other bear breed paws for good luck, lions paw for ? cancer treatment, such bs! the natives in africa and the american indian natives are so much better people than us, the civilized, uncaring, spoiled brats! just watching how they notified people, and everyone all the way down the line cared so much about one lone baby elephant. it just makes me heart grow and cry at the same time.....beautiful people. i amways think, write and say i wish i could have a life do-over . i would go to africa meet all these wonderful native groups who welcome visitors who love them, and respect them, and to also donate all of my time being both a ranger and also a caregiver. i wouldnt care if i had to scoop poop. just to be a part of this circle would be an honor...ahhh to be young again. to do the things that i see now are so crazy important! took me 56 years to figure it all out.
Look how these men work side by side and I bet with no confusion you put two women in the office with two computers and all hell breaks loose in the USA !
I just wanted to thank all the donors for providing amazing elephant hunting in the future. You know whtn these babies you all fall for and foolishly write checks ti support. The love and comfort that the other small baby orphans give to Kanjoro is one reason I love elephants!!!!!!!!!!!
It takes a special kind of person to do this. Heroes and heroines they all are :)
So beautiful and wonderful to see all of the orphans coming to see kanjoro ,making feel that he was not alone
These keepers are God sent. They work hard to save these babies and you can see they love them. Bless them all.
I have just witnessed the most handsome man ever, look at the man with all the coloured clothing, the one who has been looking over the calf for two days.
His name is Scout Loponu.
I thought it was just me who noticed that!
I know I was thinking the same thing, sooo handsome!! I also think one of the keepers, Peter Mbutu is super handsome, he looks like the black Dolf Lundgren.
I noticed as well, what a face. He probably could make thousands walking the catwalks for Versace.
God yes. The Samburu scout is gorgeous. He could definitely model for a living.
these guys are SO amazing. Just the long days they endure leaving their camp, driving, flying, picking up the orphan, flying, driving, and getting the baby back, all in one day. They’re amazing guys.❤
4:13 what a beautiful profile, like a chiseled statue
God bless all of you
The keepers from Sheldrick know how to work & to get others to work with you
we Americans need to watch how good you work together it will teach us a lot

So good to see the Samburu warriors taking charge locally until help can be sent.
Everyone needs to stop having inappropriate shallow superficial discussions and focus on the Ellie and the work being done to help this Ellie and all other animals and life. Please! Thank you.
Thank God for the Trust and the hard working keepers who save these vulnerable little ones! Oh, he lost part of his tail😢
Love so much all the cuddles given to Kanjoro by the other babies ! this is so heartwarming for this newbaby ! totally lost !!
The elephants are always so loving and accepting of one another. If only we would use this as an example
I so love the tenderness, compassion and care your keepers always show! Beautiful! The others welcoming the little one takes ones soul!

Amazing video as always. I hope he’s doing well in the wild.
Konjoro and the rest are so lucky to have the love of all the other orphans welcome them to their home
Because of this video, I learned about Samburu Trust and Ol Malo Ranch.
Chaque sauvetage est une mission , une oeuvre à part entière ❤.
Thanks guys! At least these babies won't ever be in chains.
Love those green coats! 😚😚😚😚

Im convinced that the tribe people scared the mother away. No way would an elephant mom would ever abandoned the baby, never.
