i got conditional offer from deakin for master of engineering professional. the course is a 2 year full term program. but the program begins at November 2023 and ends at 2025 June. just 1year 8 months so will I be ineligible for 6 year stay back
unfortunately, i dont know based on weeks, i only know the months which is 16 months. regarding how long you can stay, it depends on your course. for example, usually bachelors can get 2 years of psw ,masters can get 3 years and phd student can get 4 years( now 6 years of psw visa for all phd research courses) however, if your course is in the newly launched course list then you will get 2 additional years thats 4 years for bachelors, 5 years for master and 6 years for phd if you study and work in regional area category 2, you can apply for second psw visa which is for 1 year and if you work and study in category 3 then you will get 2 years of second psw visa for example: if your masters course is in the list and you are studying and then working in any category 3 area then you can get 5 + 2 = 7 years of psw visa ( 5 years under first psw visa and 2 years under second psw visa) @@sushanthsuresh2590

As long as you follow the official terms and don't take any exemptions, it will still be considered 2 years course. I was in the exact same situation as finished it during those timeframes, so it should be still considered 2 years full time study. Now when it comes to pswv, you need to check if the course and university are on the list of eligible courses.

to get psw visa, you need to study aleast 16 months( 1 year and 6 months)
