    Bambi is easy food. And you can be sure that this clever coyote will keep following mom and get that second Bambi in a few days.

      The deer is still faster and the coyote is too slow with the prey. Not even sure if he was able to escape with the 1st prey.

      I know this is late, but... it only got the one so easily because the two fawns ran in different directions and mom couldn't protect them both. Defending one is easier than defending two.

      Exactly. People of forget that the predators need to hunt prey to feed themselves as well as their young. Without predators, the prey would overpopulate, then overfeed and that becomes an ecological disaster. That’s nature’s balance. 🤔

    Did you really think that the coyote carrying the fawn, ran through the strip of woods and made it all the way across the big open field into the next strip of woods in the 1 1/2 seconds it took you to turn the camera? It sure seems like as you panned back and forth and then started zooming in and out. The only coyote that could have done that was the one that was chasing the roadrunner after he took the Acme Atomic leg muscle pills.

      Coyotes play a very important part in the ecosystem. When man intervenes is when it screws things up. The coyote may have had pups at a den close by and they have to eat too. Bryan was right, that’s exactly why deer have two most of the time. No need to “help” the fawn, just throws things off balance. Mother Nature has things the way she wants them. Interesting video.

    • @bgreervtx
      @bgreervtx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Craig Wooldridge Our property has been groomed for 25+ years to be a habitat for food, deer, hogs, etc. And yes, on my small tree farm I AM the Alpha predator. And I protect my families food. Our small acreage (85 Acres) and the predators we take, does not effect the whole ecosystem of North Texas. What it does is protect the animals which we harvest for food, which are breeding and having their young on our property. There are no High Fences, The animals are free to come and go. In Texas there is an open season on these types of predators for a reason. The Coyote population has been growing for years and even moving into Urban areas. The camera systems on my property catalog deer and hog populations and predators. The recordings are documented and delivered to Texas Parks and Wildlife to aid in their counts. The cameras also watch our perimeter fencing. In the event of an Infrastructure breakdown, and your starving and looking for food, I'll see you before you see me.

    • @bgreervtx
      @bgreervtx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Craig Wooldridge Its the job of Texas Parks and Wildlife to decide how many Coyotes can be taken. At all times We follow the law, and NOW the law regarding Coyotes is Open Season to reduce the population of these predators. Studies show that in the event of Infrastructure collapse Major Cities and Urban ares will run out of food in 8 days, so the possibility of you or some snowflake like you will try to steal food to survive. And I am only the Alpha Predator on my land, and it is very well protected. Could we be overcome, sure, but not without a heavy price being paid.
