    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're quite similar indeed. I would say that for a one handed backhand the extreme would do a better job due to the balance and swingweight. I (Grisha) prefer the Extreme Tour.

      We would go for the Radical. Although these aren't the most powerful rackets. If you want extra power maybe check out some other options. Just bought it, what strings do you recommend for this racket? Thanks a lot

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've tested it with the adrenaline 1.30. I would recommend using a spin friendly string. Maybe a Tecnifibre Black Code, Babolat RPM Blast would do good as well. Something on the cheaper side would be Volkl Cyclone.

    • @tomr1056
      @tomr1056 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This frame has high access to spin, I'm not sure what that reviewer was on about. Perhaps he gets his spin in a different way on his very different Pure Drive. If you are fine with the fairly low power id say go for Luxilon Alu Power Rough, which is high spin, personally I tried a few strings but stayed with Luxilon Element at 50lb because I wanted more pop on the base line, and it still has good spin and good control. What do you think of the frame Alejandro? I love it except I do miss-hit a bit more on this frame than on other frames, I think it has a small sweet spot.. but I'm getting there... How do you find the sweet spot? Cheers..

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, this racket can definitely provide more access to spin if you string it lower and use a spin-friendly string as you did, you're right. That's true for most rackets. We strung it tighter and used Adrenaline which isn't exactly ideal for spin. With our setup, the three of us agreed that the racket is far from being a spin machine. We're not saying that it's impossible to do so but definitely harder than with the rackets we have. Al's Pure Drive provides way more spin that's a fact (maybe a lil too much for my taste :) My (Grisha) Gravity Pro even, allows for more spin in the same setup. One thing that definitely helps with it is the head size. Both of our rackets are 100 and the Radical is a 98. Smaller head size means less spin as a general rule. That is also probably the reason for your miss-hits, as the sweet spot is smaller on rackets with smaller heads. It is just a matter of getting used to it though, so I'm sure you got this ;)

    I’m using the extreme tour (98/305) and I really like it’s feel. But it’s missing a bit plough through possibly due to relatively low swing weight (318). I am considering switching to the radical mp as it has similar specs with a higher swing weight. Any advice? Thanks!

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, honestly we haven't compared these two, so I wouldn't be able to say for sure. They do have similar specs and yes, the swingweight and the balance are certainly more power-oriented in the radical. The extreme has a thicker beam however and that helps with the power. If I (Grisha) were you, I would definitely give this one a try, cuz I think you might like it.

  • @oliverdesouza5741

    Question: this racket appears to have the same mold as the 2018 Radical Pro, with 20-23-21 profile. It also has a similar SW at 326. The balance is 1cm more head-heavy and the static weight is 10g lighter, suggesting that it's basically the same racket with 10g less in the handle area. As I really like the RPro 2018, has anyone tried this MP version with 10g added to the handle (e.g. leather or two overgrips)?

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's such a specific question, love it! Non of us have tried the radical in that particular configuration though 😥 I would assume it would feel quite similar tho. Might even end up coming down the the exact tension and the surrounding conditions.

      Huge thanks! Radical MP and Pure Aero are quite different. Babolat offers a lot of power and huge spin, whereas the Head is way more control and feel oriented. Depending on what you want in a racket you should either pick one or the other. We weren't doing the scoring system back then, that's why it isn't there. Scores for the Radical would look something like this:
      Power: 7
      Control: 8.5

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, they're actually very similar and it comes down to personal preference and feel. If I was choosing, I'd probably go with the Tecnifibre. Have you considered Iga Swiatek's T-Rebound? It's lighter but adding some lead could fix that and it's a great racket overall. That's if you want something more powerful with better spin. If you want a balanced but controlled racket, than the other two are the better options.

    How would you compare it to the blade 98 v7

      @@stefan7848 That's the way it is yes. The more strings the more control. In case of the Radical the 16x19 string pattern doesn't ruin the control at all but makes it quite a bit more user friendly.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They're quite similar in terms of the way they play. The blade has a thinner beam and it's a little more control oriented than the Radical. If you're choosing between those two and you say that you like to play with spin, I'd go for the Radical.
