- Sorry for the long video! I have purchased a Brinsea Ovation 28 EX, and this is the unboxing, setup and first impressions video. A good incubator, if a bit pricey!

I don't understand why they don't preload the pump tubing-the tubing should be strong enough to do that. and the "water bottle" end sticks out, so no need to open.
The hatching mat is the piece of corrugated cardboard that was in the bottom.
Ahh, ok, I did wonder 👍😎 Looks like a one time use thing.
Just looked at the cost of them. £22 for 6 😲😲😲
@@AnnoyDad you can make your own hatching mat with ridged cardboard and also the ex means that it has a auto humidty thing

The hatching mat is the cardboard piece you took off the very bottom. Brinsea sells "refills" of them but I just make my own.
Yes, I did wonder. A few people have pointed this out for me.

@@AnnoyDad The refill price is criminal. You're so handy I'm sure you already have a fix in place though 😊
The only thing I dislike about this incubator is the double skinned lid, makes it harder to clean

I am waiting for Rcom10 ... I want one but it's too much money without knowing it's perfect 😛 so will just wait for your honest opinion ... Btw let me know about humidity I had trouble in this one to keep humidity on level I wanted and also after 1st use my fan was making weird noise .. they changed it 3 times and the same happened ... So they pay my money back and took that device... Maybe I just have had wrong unit 🤷
I think the Rcom is coming up in 2 weeks time. Seems to be ok.
Will be doing a follow up on the Brinsea. Seems ok so far, but there have been 1 or 2 issues.
@@AnnoyDad I like on RCOM that you can set everything ... I know that 20 and 50 are very reliable, don't know about 10 plus pro ... Brinsea with humidity pump that small one mini is nightmare ... Had it as well ... I couldn't get humidity less then 50% ... It was hoppin up down up down like hello ...
Why didn’t you buy a brinsea 190
I was so tempted to. But due to space restrictions at the moment, I couldn't put it anywhere. I was also able to buy 3, for the same price of 1 190 👍
