- Remember - before you start work on the fuel system always disconnect the battery to avoid the risk of any sparks.
Most fuel tanks have a feature that stops you from siphoning fuel from the filler cap. This video shows you have to access the fuel tank to remove fuel.
The fuel tank access is on the right hand side of the car underneath the rear seats. Lift the seat & carpet and you'll see the access plate - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
You skip right past the electrical connector which I wanted to see as they give me trouble. Good video though, and thank you for the help
How long did it take?
When you put pump back in did you have to prime to start car?
For those wondering how the connector comes off. Put a screwdriver in the slot at the top, press it toward the wires, and put another screwdriver blade between the connector and base and pry it up. As you pry the screwdriver in the slot toward the wires it bows out the side of the connector and should allow it to clear the barb, then pry up on the other. You can also press really hard inward on the knurled edge next to the slot, that's how it's meant to be disconnected but hard to do. Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Show us how to use the green pipie. You cut video at the critical moment.
You need to apply suction to the pipe using whatever method you prefer, some suck ensuring the fuel doesn't go in their mouth or you can use a device to create vacuum to start it off. Once going it will flow under gravity
Is the blue pipie the out or the black pipe?
Thankyou. I was just going to punch a hole in the bottom...
Glad it helped, much less messy than a hole!
Wow
isn't that the "floater"?!
Hi , how do I drain fuel from a vw touareg
Hi did you find out need to do my tiguan
Is this the same on a 2008 fsi GTI?
It should be very similar
Please grind down that mushrooming, before someone get a hurt.
You should really mention the year or generation at least because this isn't true for all of those models
This should work for most models of those cars, the process is the same even if the fuel pump is a different model
@ajvw well my mk3 golf you have to got through the hatch not the back seat. So it's definitely not all of them
