- Welcome to van life in Wales! In this weeks van life UK travel vlog, we make our way to Wales and are blown away!
We stop at Lake Vyrnwy, cross the beautiful dam and enjoy walking around in the lovely autumn colours before taking an incredible drive north to Lake Bala for an overnight stop..
Then we head for Blaenau Ffestiniog and after some horrendous weather and a few slight issues with our little old van, we make it out to explore with some blue skies and sunshine!
Finally we end this weeks adventure at the amazing Betws-y-Coed.. What a start to our welsh adventure, we’re absolutely loving it here in the UK!

Weirdly, I have just returned from Portugal and Spain. Went for a month. Algarve and Andalucia. Weird how I went over there whilst you came to Wales!!
They sing about it in Wales "We'll keep a drenching in the hillside a proper soaking in the vales". 🤣🎶🤧☔🌧️🌫️🌪️

Brilliant, are you coming down south w?
Your sliding windows have actually got drain holes to stop the water building up in the runners.
After a few years they gum up with dirt etc and can becon completely invisible, check for them along the bottom runners with a pointy screwdriver, good luck.
If you can’t find the drain holes get a small drill bit a drill a small hole in the bottom of the runner so the water runs outside
Another quick fix would be to trap a small piece of string (10cm or so) in the window on the outside of the van. It will wick the water pooling in the runner and direct it outside and down the side of the van.
Oh wow! We didn’t know this! Thankyou.. Will have a look in the morning… Thankyou, much better than taping up the windows!😅

My drain holes are easy to unblock. However they are slots. It can be done with a key. Video on my channel. Cheers from old George and Jane.
Isn’t earth absolutely stunning?! That drone footage was amazing. I often think, if I were from another planet and then saw earth, I would be shocked by the different terrains and colors.

It really baffles me why someone would put a thumbs down 🤔 if you don’t like it for whatever reason surely you must realise you can’t fault the work these two put into their video’s the stunning content and camera footage especially the drone footage and just keep a dignified silence. Aaw l loved this video. I've not been to Wales but it looks so like the Scottish Highlands. Weve been having rain like that and it really makes the rivers come alive. It all looks stunning. Beautiful scenery, thanks for filming! I don’t know if you know this, but cemeteries and grave yards usually have a tap near the gate, we often fill up our water from them when we’re campervanning it about here in the UK. Happy travels 😊.

Hey guys. Sliding windows. It's normal to have a small amount of water build up in the window slide rails. It is a bad design because the drain holes block up and under high side wind an rain water can blow in. Our van has drain holes on the outside which look like slots. I regular unblock them with end of thin screw driver. They can be easily missed by painting over them or sealing them up by mistake. I can do a video showing these if required. That was great! The drone shots with all the colors was beautiful! I love to ride in the mountains of North Carolina and run across a waterfall and you guys get to see so many. It is stunning up there in the Welsh mountains but as you have experienced it does rain a lot. I’m surprised Dizzee hasn’t had a cold weather meltdown. Have fun 😊😊

Thank you for reminding me of just how beautiful Wales is, don't remember the autumn red moss / fern. Gong to map your places for myself. (I did honeymoon in Symonds Yet and it was spectacular, maybe more so in autumn? I could have been blinded by love though!)

Aw you two are mental,make me laugh every time with your silly antics. I love Betsw y coed,we have photos of us standing by those waterfalls,will you go to Conwy(love it there)? as there is the tiniest house there and you can go inside,got photos of that too. Everywhere is so pretty,very chocolate box pretty,all that gorgeous slate. Enjoy being with your parents,you must be so excited to be back. Loving the videos.x

Our little island might not be very big but it certainly packs in some beautiful scenery. Lovely seeing the hills and the streams with the little bridges going over them. I love the contrast in scenery with the lush greenery in the UK and the dry lands of Spain. Both equally as beautiful as each other. With the Welsh countryside you feel as though you want to sit by a little stream penning some poetry of what you see before you. I think the fur babies are slowly starting to acclimatise. Once you've prized them out of their deep slumber and dressed them in their doggie wear they soon warm up. As always I hope all of you have a great weekend. Graham 🤗❤

I like such weather, gloomy, rainy and dark and mysterious. Full of unknown promises. You feel so cozy and curl up your toes with a nice cup of coffee. All you need is a good book. And the lake area is lovely. So gothic, I think.
