    That was different - thanks for the Mack video.
    The jack under the drag link to get the taper unseated was cool, too. That nut you use to pound out the tapered tie rods - almost time for a new one?
    Thanks for the video.

    Hello from San Antonio, TEXAS. Does the King pin just wear down or what that eventually it requires a replacement? I love the tool that you use at 10:17. I have seen other videos such as a Pakistani helper/assistant who has just too much faith with his coworker using a sledgehammer while he holds a large drift with his bare hand! Just watch "Pakistani Trucks" or "Amazing Things Official" to get an idea as an example. GREAT WORK Semi Workin!

      No thrust bearing nor shims either. Don't know if I like this design but mechanics
      probably don't have a lot of influence on design.

      Looked like there was a thrust bearing in that bottom cap. The lack of a pinch bolt was kind of weird. Wonder what stops it from turning in the axle.

    • @jerrytalley337
      @jerrytalley337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dennissmith460 Yes, I didn't see the thrust bearing coming apart and must have fast forwarded
      past putting it in. The bearing must be seated on the bottom of the king pin and adjusted up so
      the full weight of that corner of the vehicle is on the axle taper and king pin and thus the weight transferred to the thrust bearing. The mechanic had to pound pretty hard to get the k p to unseat from the axle coming apart. Looking closer and rethinking this, this may not be a bad design. Just never seen it before. Taper is only on the bottom bushing and the axle bore. The thrust bearing must be able to be adjusted as bottom bushing wear happens?????? Top of pin is straight and uses needle brng instead of bushing. Guess it pays to watch closely and get the whole picture before commenting. Thanks for pointing this out Dennis.

      @masonsims8457 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bushing driver, or something that fits in the king pin bore and still catches the bearing. You have to be careful going back in with the new beating as you can damage the race and jam up a roller
