We had ground beef at Meijer $1.97. I was able to freeze 13 pounds of ground beef. They sold out very quick but I was able to get some rain checks for an additional 21 pounds of beef.

Way to go girl. I am also in nw Indiana. I do pretty much the same, but there is only 2 of us. But when its cheaper I buy as much as I can and divide it up when I get home.

Here in N.E. Texas, got 73% ground beef for $2.30 per pound yesterday-lowest price I’ve seen in a long while!
Wish I could find berries for the prices you’re finding up north! $2.49 per pint is a “good” price around here these days. I’m hoping for better prices mid summer to stock the freezer and also use for canning.

My Giant Eagle has the 80% ground beef for $2.99 pound. It was $2.49 on sale a few months ago. Congratulations on all that ground beef. That’s the way to shop. Just think at 71 pounds you saved over $200 if you paid $5.99 a pound.

I live in Washington state. There are only 2 grocery stores in our town, Safeway & Walmart. Safeway’s sale price for ground beef is $5.99 a pound. Walmart’s non sale, regular price for ground beef is $5.74 a pound. I bought 4 pounds from Walmart.
Not great prices! I'm also in WA state and luckily we have a Fred Meyer - they have 93/7 ground beef on sale this week for $2.99 a pound.

My local Meijer in Michigan had 80/20 ground beef for $1.97 a pound, so I definitely jumped all over that. It was a limit of 3 though.

I’m in central California. Our local Save Mart (which is the expensive store) has ground beef 1.99lb, white corn 10/$1, and a dozen eggs for 1.49 (limit 2)! No great ground beef sales at our Kroger affiliate which is Foods Co, but they do have butter for 2.99lb with digital coupon. That’s about the lowest I’ve been seeing butter around here. Stocking up! 🎉

Lowest price I found around me was $2.47 a pound for 73/27. I would rather have 80/20 but it was way more expensive. On the Gulf Coast. I was very disappointed in the sales this week in my area. The main store I like to shop for meat at only had Filet Mignon on sale for $10.99 @ pound. No ground beef. No chicken breasts. Not even a less expensive steak. They had hot dogs on sale, but quite frankly even in these times I dont consider the price they had a sale price.
Ugh. That is disappointing to have no meat sales this close to Memorial Day! I wonder if you will have any that start on Sunday???

I haven’t gotten any ground beef but I got some $1.99 chicken. I cut and froze 5 packages and then went back and did it again. I still need to add how much I spent this month. Hoping for more great sales but ground beef was $4.99 a pound on sale.

Thats some great deals. I dont have a Meijers, but I wish I did. Found ground beef 73/27% at Aldi's for $2.39 lb this week. Kroger had 80% last week for $2.99 lb. Stocked up on both. 😊

I live in the DFW area, and my Tom Thumb has had either 80% ground beef for $2.99 or 93% for $3.99 on their family packs (usually 3.5#) on alternating weeks for several months now. This week it was 93% which I portioned out into 1/2-pound packs and put in the freezer. Last week it was 80% so I bought 2 packages and made burgers with one package and divided the other package into 1/2-pound portions and into the freezer it all goes. With the exception of burgers, I prefer a leaner ground beef so when I want to cook something, I take one package of 80%, one of 93%, which works out perfect for us. For now, I only have my fridge/freezer in the house and a small fridge/freezer in the garage. I've considered buying a freezer or possibly another fridge/freezer but I'm having trouble justifying the cost.
I love how you are taking advantage of the sales and combining your meats, too! 👏 As for the extra freezer, I wonder if you could find one on Facebook Marketplace? It is definitely worth the cost to me to have extra freezer space - especially for meat sales!

Here in WA state our Kroger has 93/7 ground beef for $2.99 lb. I prefer 85/15 or 80/20 for better flavor.... but still a great deal!

I'm I'm southern Wisconsin and the lowest I've seen is $2.99/lb but that's for ground chuck. Hubby eats the lean ground round which we usually buy the 10lb chub at sams club for $3.99/lb.
I've given up eating meat now 🤷♀️ & my son is vegetarian so we're not using it as much anymore. (saves some money that way too lol😅)

Our Meijers in the Chicago area has corn 8 for 1.00. Ground beef 2.99. Part of the buy five sale is Breyer icecream for 2.49 or Edy’s for 1.99. I stocked up on everything 😊

My Meijer had red clearance clothing on sale for 50%off,also select boys clothing buy one get two free, ground beef $2.99.
I saw some clearance signs on clothes but it was such a busy week, I didn't have time to wander. Sigh. Those sound like good clearance pieces and deals!
Are you able to only use 1# of beef per meal for your family? If so I’m impressed! Our family of 6 is 2# per meal. So it goes quick!
I try to stretch it and use a pound in casseroles or with Tacos, but it is eeking up more pound wise. If I make Hamburgers, we use 2 to 3lbs per meal. 😁
