Nothing wrong with using what works. A few years ago, I wanted to try grilling, so I just bought a cheap $35 dollar grill Menards. I didn't want to break the bank on a hobby I might not like. Let me tell you, that thing was flimsy. It was so light weight, it felt like a toy. Like a strong breeze would carry it away. But it worked. I learned enough by using it to know I wanted to continue, so I upgraded to something nicer and gave the old one away for free. And to put it mildly, this Dollar General model looks WAY better than that Menard's one I had.

Awesome way of showing that a bbq doesn’t need to cost a lot for making a great meal. Thanks for sharing and keep on grilling.

Thanks! That cheap $25 grill may only last a few years, but it worked good.

@@starsstripes6024 you get what you pay for. A few years of usage is still great. And then there might even be a good excuse to upgrade.

Just purchased the 15 dollar kettle grill from DG and I've used it twice. So far, I love it!

Yeah you can make sure you watch it cook so you don't start a fire those things are DANGEROUSLY thin!!!

@@theuglytruth4303 You can just as easily start a fire with the most expensive and well built grill on the market.

You can use about any charcoal for hotdogs and hamburgers but for leg quarters and thick steaks u need a longer burning coal.

I got this grill as a temporary one until I get a trager or barrel grill. It actually seems like it could last a white and does the job pretty decently but the only thing is the air flow sucks in it cause the air vents are too high to affect the charcoal burn. The charcoals need to be blown on after a while so they don't go iutm. I'm gonna drill a few holes in the bottom and see if that helps

It looks like it has better airflow and performs better than the $18 grill they sell at Walmart.

Use caution when using these cheap grills. I had one not sure what brand but the poor quality paint they had as a coating catches on fire. Webers I believe must be some type of coating maybe ceramic? Whatever it is does not catch fire and even won’t coals right up against the side does not phase it.
Also lids that don’t remove or at least tilt all the way back are more likely to burn if the flames hit it when lighting the charcoal. Some lids only tilt about 45° causing the flames to lick the bottom of the lid. Mix that with flammable paint and you have a problem especially if it’s on your deck or near your house.

It's made cheap, but we haven't had any issues with it in 2 years of grilling on it. The Webber grills are definitely better.

I let mine burn for like 30 mins I kinda wonder if I still had some coating on it. I think I should've burned it a little longer. I wonder how many times you can grill before it falls apart? But for the price it wasn't bad. It was so short I could sit grill and drink my beer, so that was a plus.

Just bought this same grill. Didn't waste my money on charcoal. I split down some oak firewood and built a bed of coals and this little grill did great! I cooked chicken legs, pork steaks, and sausage.
