Memorial Day Massacre - an old-tymer recommended this game to me after a lecture from him on the greatness of Larry Bird. He said Bird was a fundamental savant.
Scott Wedman, 11 shots 26 points. I remember watching this game as a celtics fan living in Texas. At one point you saw the look on Scotty's face looking at the guys on the bench, he had an "I dunno" look on his face, "they're all going in".
People forget that Wedman hit one of the biggest shots in Finals history in game 2 in 84. Down 1-0 everyone remembers game 2 for the Henderson steal or magic holding the ball too long or even the Parish steal up 1 in overtime. But with the score 121-120 Lakers Wedman hit a very very difficult 18 foot baseline jumper to make it 122-121. The ball hit nothing but net and if Wedman doesn't hit that shot it's 2-0 LA and the 84 Series is over
Unfortunately in 82 and 85 the Celtics had huge 40 point wins vs the Sixers and then the Lakers in game 1. But only to lose game 2 at home and eventually the series :(
Wedman was on fire.
One of my faves!!
This was the absolute worst game Kareem ever played then game 2 was the absolute best game he ever played
His dad went with him on the bus he felt it was his moment of truth
If you must lose a game in this manner, let it be Game 1 on the road.
Larry Bird referred to Wedman as the sharp shooter on the team. If it were not for injuries Wedman would have done even better.
If my aunt had balls, she's be my uncle
@8:03 Awww whats the matter Magic. Ainge got you flustered? F’ing cry baby Magic. Btw in case you missed it Aimge played D on Jordan something fierce. Aggravated the piss out of Jordan. Why? Go look at what Ainge was back in his hey day. All American. Dude was seriously athletic and skilled in numerous sports.
Ainge was the crybaby. Come on.
Btw, Magic got his way when he willed the Lakers to victory in the series.
@@mercuryrising2424Kareem was the mvp of the finals not magic
@@TheSands83 Kareem was voted the Finals MVP, but Magic was the true MVP of that series.
This made me seasick
