This game was when I became a bona-fide 'Lakers Girl.' It was one of the best games the Lakers ever played! I still feel that Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, and AC are the epitome of a DreamTeam! 💜 💛

Well, the Lakers were up by 3 at the time, and there was no "3 free throw" rule at the time. So even if the Pistons made the 2 free throws, the Lakers would still have the ball with 2 or maybe 1 second to go. The result might very well be identical. But again, shouldn't the game be stopped at the 2 second mark?
Your facts are wrong. 1-Had the refs called a technical foul on LA for too many players on the court, Detroit shoots a T and gets the ball at mid court. 2-a made T cuts the lead to 2, Detroit gets the ball at mid court and there still is 2 seconds left to tie the game or shoot a 3 for the win .
