Just to Clear Things Up. There is nothing wrong with having OBS on your gaming PC, If you have a decent setup you can run it. However having OBS gives you privacy in how your applications are captured and shared through OBS. If you want to clone your desktop raw go ahead by all means do what is best for you. This method really helped me out and I still manage around 120-165 FPS with application selectively captured. I play at 2560x1440, 165Hz.

i do this way exactly and i dont get the 240hz option for 1920x1080 and also when i do the duplicate way on the utoillity says im on 144 but NVCP show 240hz and the screen tear is a lot better then fullscreen project idk why tho
Hello, I stream in a dual pc configuration with an elgato 4k 60 pro capture device and I lose the dolby atmos sound and it won't let me activate it and to play and stream the normal sound I can't distinguish the footsteps of the enemy, do you know how to solve the problem that I can't Let activate the dolby atmos, regards

I got the same issue i think as u. By fps drops do u mean random chops/stutters, but none reported in obs? Looks Like the elgato can’t keep up?

I do everything the same EXCEPT I do not run OBS on my gaming pc. Streaming PC picks up the display capture just fine with no tearing. 1440p 144hz gaming monitor cloned @ 1440p 144hz on 4K60Pro MK.2. Zero tearing.
Yeah lately I haven’t been running obs on my gaming and have no screen tearing I’m on a 1440p 240hz
@@EternoDM how do yall not get freezing on your gaming rig when alt tabbing out of games or full screen apps when using cloning? I can't find a solution other than using passthrough but i would rather not considering my monitor doesnt support 144 hz over hdmi not to mention the potential input lag (although i've heard it negligible)

Have both pc’s on and in your gaming pc go to settings then display settings and merge your gaming monitor with your capture card monitor

What if you use a lg c2 as a monitor? So that uses up my hdmi. Can I use DP to hdmi on capture card.

@@EternoDM it worked I used an adapter that turns display port to hdmi. And used a hdmi 2.1 to the elgato capture card. And audio/hdr/4k 60hz works just fine.

You could use a Elgato hd60s plus it comes with a hdmi you plug to your gpu and the Elgato capture card. It also comes with I usb c cable that connects to the Elgato capture card and into your streaming laptop
My capture card doesn't show when i get to the full screen projector step in obs after adding the desktop display. I'm trying to set up a HD60 S+

You can as long as your using the elgato hd60+ as your capture card
I prefer not to have OBS on my gaming PC... that's the whole point of having the streaming PC with Elgato 4k60 Pro - not to involve Gaming PC in OBs stuff... Can you cover that setup if you know how to do it?

Easy. Just use hdmi as main and one output from gaming gpu into cap card. The hdmi out to monitor from cap card and enable VRR...
IF you do ehat the video shows with dual obs it is very pointsell esp woth that high end cap card.. sure setting 60hz in main pc is a nice thing than duplicate but YOU WILL LOSE PERFORMANCE A LOT. On witcher 3 with my 3090 1440p i lose lots of fps and it becomes a bad gamjng experiece. Same with 4090 with starfield atm...
Be okay woth 120hz 1440p and use the hdmi in out feature. If you dont like the delay, buy a hdmi 2.1 splitte3 and split (duplicate )the hdmi signal from splitter. One goes to monitor with VRR second goes to cap card. That is the best practise works amazing foe ps5 xbx x too. But it costs more.. hdmi splitters can also (some) downscale the input signal into 1080p for the cap card. But this is not amazing for recording.
Using clone 1 display port and 1 hdmi grom the gpu will cause tearing... the obs in gaming pc will cost you fps in demanding titles.
So best case is buy a OREI hdmi 2.1 splitter and get a 120hz cap card(pass thru).
Use just 1 hdmi from pc and since the splitter is pass thru vrr it will work and there will be no tearing.
In my experience tearing comes from the duplicate screen setting
Having trouble with my hd60s. When plugged in to my gaming pc and stream pc, causing the game to look horrible (APEX) says the game is running 144hz 1440p but it looks so bad getting the hurts but the quality is horrible any help? Only thing different is I’m using stream labs (projecting screen) to streaming pc without using el gatos utility software. It’s also extended in display settings as well
Things like jagged lines and reduce image quality only appears after plugging in my hdmi from my elgato to the back of my gaming pc. Again my settings are all saying there set at 144hz and 2k via display settings and nvida. Assuming it’s a game issue maybe and not anything on elgatos side ?
Does the game look bad on your gaming monitor as well as in stream labs on your streaming pc?

so i have my gaming pcs screen showing up on my streaming pc in obs... but i dont want people seeing my entire screen if im swapping over to a chat or something.... what am i missing here because i just want it to show the game when the game opens but it isnt doing it
Do you have OBS installed on your gaming pc if so make sure you make a source for game capture. And if you have both pc’s turned on with OBS open you go on your gaming pc right click on the scene where you have that game capture source and you look for full screen projector and you should see your capture card which you should select

@@EternoDM elgato 4k60 pro. I actually just figured it out a few minutes ago. It wasn't working when my displays were set to "duplicate", but it worked when I set a display to "extend"

Yes you could put 1080p on the 4k capture utility as well as on OBS (streaming pc) change your capture cards resolution to 1080p. Also on your gaming pc open up nvidia control panel go to change resolution and click on the monitor that is your capture card and change the resolution to 1080p. Hopefully that works but if it doesn’t you might want to check if the pcie in your streaming pc is able to handle the 4k60 pro or if you have a hd60s plus make sure that the usb cable is connected to a 3.0 USB port on your streaming pc

@@S23101 don't worry about asking too many question I just want to help out cause I know how frustrating all this could be. So if you have a 4k60 pro that capture card is installed just like a gpu in a pcie slot that is 2.0 or higher, to find out what version pcie you have you'll find that in your motherboard guide or just google your motherboard to find out. And if you have a hd60s plus you don't need to worry about pcie cause that capture card is connected via usb
Why not just stream on the streaming PC by duplicating the display? is extending the display better than duplicating?
Ever since I posted that video I have tried duplicating the display but not a fan of it. For example your in game and click windows or alt to check on audio or something else screen goes black for a second or two I just personally found it a bit annoying.
@@EternoDM So i just tried extended and you're right i mean i dont think i 1% cpu usage is going to effect performance right? Also when i was duplicating the display and playing valorant the monitor that was showing for valorant was my capture card and i couldn't change it from my capture card to my benq monitor. With extended i can use my gaming monitor as the default option now.

I’ve had someone else have the same problem you might have to split the audio using an aux splitter connected to the hd60s plus
@@EternoDM dam GG on the quick reply. I'm running ASTRO a50s. I played around I got my discord party audio and game audio to go through. Buttttt I do not have my audio going through and the discord and game audio repeat themselves. The struggle is real.

no I don't for the build I had in this video. But if you have 2 powerful pcs it doesn't make a difference if you dup the monitors or use the obs method I showed in this video

You don’t need the ElGato 4k utility installed on both pc’s ONLY ON 1 the streaming pc.

Can anyone please help me!!!! I’m trying to get my 4k60 pro to capture 1440p since that’s the type of monitor I’m using but it only captures 1080. Don’t know why it says 1080p for Source when I’m using a 1440p monitor
On your streaming pc download elgato 4k capture utility and under device select 4k60 pro then where it says EDID select 1440p and Input EDID mode select display. Next on your gaming pc go to nvidia control panel go to change resolution select 4k60 pro and change the resolution to 2560 x 1440. Hope this helps

I just don’t understand, opening OBS on your gaming PC defeats the purpose of dual PC As soon as you open OBS on your gaming pc you are diminishing your FPS in game, so you might as well be using single PC at that point. STOP opening OBS on gaming PC, that is the entire reason why you spent money on a capture card and another PC. 😤
Not exactly I have no fps problem because it doesn’t use up any resources when obs is open and the upside of this method it prevents screen tear.
@@EternoDM You better get a tool to measure your FPS brother, cause there is absolutely NO WAY you opening OBS on your gaming PC does not use resources. But to each his own. Like I said if you are going to do it that way, you could have saved a lot of money and just did a 1 PC stream. Or you might want to figure out why else you are getting screen tear. I have been doing this a long time.

@@EternoDM I have double monitors, and extend my displays. Not saying you have to do like me. Everyone’s system is different. I have all the top of the line 12th Gen stuff on my 2 systems. But, I just cannot fathom that as soon as you add a game capture or display capture in OBS, your games will definitely take a hit, BUT, like I said it might only be like 10 FPS and if your system is strong enough to begin with, that is really nothing at all.
If you like take a look at my stream from last night. That is on 1 PC Setup and you will see how smooth the stream is in 1440P
Idk why anyone would use NDI with an elgato 4k60 pro. Having OBS running on your gaming pc KILLS your gaming PC performance.
My personal experience when I’ve streamed and recorded it didn’t really make a big impact to my gaming pc performance
uses 0.5% on mine, you aren't recording or streaming off the gaming pc so there isnt any real load. However if you use StreamlabsOBS then that hogs resources a lot more without having to record or stream
While watching your video, I have to figure out things by myself... You and another gentlemen give half of the information, and people must fill in the blanks. It's all good. I'm filling them in. It's annoying to look for help, and people aren't filling in all the blanks.

@@EternoDM, I'm using Elgato's 4k60 Pro MK.2 card. Currently, 4k60Pro MK.2 is popping up on my gaming computer. On my streaming computer, 4k60 Pro MK.2 isn't showing up. Many videos show the streaming computer with 4k60 Pro MK.2, but mine isn't. Once I set my gaming computer to 4k60 Pro MK.2, it works on the streaming computer.
For recording, on the gaming PC, it doesn't show the 4k60 Pro MK.2 device. I can see the 4k60 Pro MK.2 Audio on the streaming computer. My whole setup is exceptionally odd. If I put the mic on my main computer, I can hear it through both computers.

@@EternoDM I have Gsync on monitor so that's not an issue, however, I did some tests yesterday and CPU consumption with OBS doesn't even reach 20% so I guess you're right

sorry haven't setup a discord yet and if you right mouse click on desktop go to display settings and there should be an option to duplicate your monitor with your 4k60
