I will be 60 years old in a few months, I eat traditionally: A starter, a main course (meat and vegetables), cheese and a fruit to finish (a good meal would not be a good meal without a glass or two of good wine)😉 , I walk my dog twice a day for about 1 hour walk whether it's rainy or windy and I always fit into my wedding suit (39 years ago).

Sounds perfect! What does a normal day look like for you - such as breakfast or lunch - if you partake.

A more traditional meal would be berries, meat, water?

@@HalseyHFW Berries?? Do you know that in France we left the hunter/gatherer stage a few thousand years ago and that in our latitudes the mamouth is becoming rare...

I lived (and worked) in Paris for 3 years. You also have fat people in France and cholesterol (a lot of French do have it, wine, cheese, etc.) is invisible. Yet in general the French are a lot slimmer than the Americans and the explanation is not so complicated, it is very simple. Though it does have an impact it is not so much diet, what the French eat (McDo, Pizza, .. are very popular in France) it is all about 2 things (1) SMALLER PORTIONS (ie less calories) (2) though the French do not exercise more, they do WALK, MOVE more. (burn more calories).

Yes, and yes. And indeed, I 've seen packed McDonalds in Paris (but not on every street corner). And do you know of any co-worker who ate out daily while you were in Paris? I recently learned that only 20% of US adults made meals regularly at home. While I am not surprised, I am still shocked. For me, making meals at home is the default, while going out to eat (anywhere) is the occasional treat.

Bonjour Madame. Nicole 😃😃🌷🌷🌺🌺💖💖

I think eating out might be a myth about Americans. Yes we eat out and maybe more than we should but really most people eat at home, especially those in rural areas. Eating out is expensive, except fast food. I think certain areas are more prone to eating out as people tend to prefer the quickness and ease of fast food drive through versus shopping and cooking. Yes those communities will see more obesity in general, IMHO. I think you nailed it when you discussed cooking at home with natural foods not heavily processed and utilizing public transportation which allows for more movement throughout the day rather than relying heavily on our cars.

Yes you are absolutely right; from an European point of view. Do not forget that the large food companies only see customers of the junk they sell and often those large food companies also have a pharmaceutical division, so they don't really care when the consumer gets sick, since the medicines this customer needs is also being provided by this large food company. So is there going to change anything as you requested? No absolutely not! The interest of these large food companies is so grand that they will make sure nothing on bad food is going to change since they need you to purchase very expensive medicines for the illnesses due to long exposure to bad food.
Those companies even usually have a funural home and term life insurances, so they gain money from you alive or dead. Such a F@cked up money driven society is typical American capitalism.

@@Off_the_clock_astrophysicist In a way I sincerely feel sorry for those people in the USA, being played like this by grand industrial powers... But then again, these people voted to have it this way and they do not seem to put up a lot of resistance against this industrial game with lives, so yeah who am I to feel sorry for them then?

Haven't watched the full video, but maybe they just don't sit around as much and don't eat as much junk food? That would be my assumption personally. Kinda unrelated, but when Covid started remember germans stocking up on toilet paper while frenchies stocked up on wine and condoms...
Idk, just seems like basic living & eatig habits being a bit different for each culture might have something to do with it 😂
