Like you Jamal I've been discovering new music too. The great world of Ska. Early Ska featuring Specials and Madness. Ghost town by Specials and night boat to Cairo by Madness
My mom and her identical twin went to see him in the early 70’s. They dressed alike and had front row seats. He saw them, called them double trouble and wiped his forehead on my mom’s handkerchief. They cut it in half when they got home and my mom still has her half to this day! ❤️❤️😉😉
Funniest few minutes I've had laughing in a long while. Loved your reaction. Brought back memories of my childhood when every woman on our block kicked the hubbies out and sent the kiddies to bed so they could watch Tom's TV show! Lol

I saw Tom Jones in concert about 10 years ago. He doesn't quite move like that anymore, but he still moves. And his voice is absolutely astonishing. It was an outdoor concert, really hot and humid, he didn't miss a beat. He didn't miss a note. We were on our feet the entire night AND some women still through their underwear at him, LOL. Until you see him live you forget all the hits he had. Just amazing.
Tom and his wife were best friends that chose to stay together after the romance was over . She never wanted a divorce and he stayed by her side in her last days . No one is perfect he also had a son out of wedlock . But he’s a great entertainer I’ll keep out of his personal business 😌
@Billy Nuallán as a Welshman who lives 10 miles from his home town I agree with you. Brilliant singer there's no denying that BUT a shit husband. This has to be the worst song he done.
I loved when he started singing the dirty dancing sing on the voice UK Don't You Feel Like Crying! I wish Jamal could get hold of it. If anyone has the link please send it to him
Here in the UK and all around the world brother, the boy from the valleys of Wales is a legend in every sense of the word. God bless Sir Tom. This is him at his absolute peak way back then...
Years ago my ex took me to go see Tom, at the time he had to have been in his 60’s and that show was A👏MAZ👏ING👏!!! He still had that kind of energy, he had the whole room on their feet and you can see and feel how much his fans loved him after all those years. This was probably around 1996-98, somewhere around there, and well past his “prime” but no one told Tom or his fans that! I went in rolling my eyes and left a fan for life.
Same fella, took my parents and my wife to Brighton in the UK, to see him, about the same time..... mid 90's, the women were still throwing their knickers, underwear at him, my mother was at front of the stage going nuts..... it was a fantastic show!!!! Thanks for memories!!!!!

Heh. Over at my house, all us kids were just little ones, but we all got to stay up "late" on Sunday nights to see Tom Jones on the telly. We used to call shirts with ruffles down the front "Tom Jones shirts". The voice on that man! So powerful, so clear. I remember walking through a grocery store one time in the late 1990s -- Delilah came on over the speakers, and I just stepped into an aisle and stood listening in gaping awe.
Even though you were chuckling at his dancing and the age of this video I appreciate you appreciating how talented and beautiful Tom Jones is and your entertaining critique of him singing and dancing in this video. !!!!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Once upon a time I was a tenor, at around 40 and a few hundred cartons of cigarettes in, became a baritone. Today at 61 I'm a background vocalist, in a rock and roll band. That at over 80, he can still bring it at his range and power, is amazing.
Tom Jones in the early 70s: All the women wanted him and all the guys wanted to be him...or the guys drowned their sorrow with shots and beer...and still wanted to be Tom.
he has some great clips from his show with Janis, Crosby Stills, Aretha, Dolly, Tina, lttle Richard, Stevie Wonder, Cher, Supremes, Wilson Pickett, Joe Cocker. Jerry Lee Lewis. He and Elvis were good friends. His duets are all great to watch. He's on Britan's Voice and still sings great. His best and saddest song is the Green Green Grass of Home
I love Tom's duets. My favorite is the one one with Wilson Pickett. I also love the Van Morrison song Tom sang with Van "I'm not feeling it anymore" All good times.
Tom Jones is STILL Amazing live. He has such an ability to sing whatever is current, and he has so much soul!!! His hips used to get censored on TV like Elvis' were. He still makes albums and sings songs by very contemporary and indie music writers.
My grandmother loved Tom she went to all his concerts when he came to Philly she passed in 2008 at the age of 99 5 months from her 100 th Birthday I still miss her everyday when I hear Tom I always think of her Rest In Peace Mom-Mom 🥰😘🙏🙏😘☮️💙💙💙
That man was Sex On A Stick!!! James Brown was first. This was Tom's show in 1969, Friday night at 10pm. My parents would let me stay up and watch it when I was little...he gave me Feelings I didn't yet understand!!!
He was the first man to get me hot and bothered. I was maybe, 13? Watching him perform, I got all kinds of feelings I'd never felt before. That's some power, baby!
I was lucky enough to see him on his last tour and I’m 39 that man is a legend ! Ladies old and young were throwing their undies on stage, one of the best shows I’ve seen !
Tom Jones was extremely versatile and still was going right up from the 60s to the 90s etc... blues, rock, heavy metal, SOUL, Pop ballads, new wave etc.... And Unlike Presley, Jones was not hesitant to sing with the top CREAM OF THE CROP/ significant black Soul artists of the day from Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, to Aretha Franklin to Isaac Hayes and Teddy Pendergrass. And that's just scratching the surface. Presley could not do authentic Soul because he didn't have the voice, passion or range for that genre. Which is why he didn't dare make the attempt. Jones did and could. Which is why he could go toe to toe with the best of them and earn sincere praise. Presley was a fine pop singer who I felt could interpret country music particularly well but his voice was not the most wide ranging in register and accounts for why he stayed in his lane. By his own admission he stated he knew he couldn't sing like the popular black artists of his era when he started out like Little Richard, Fats Domino and others. The man was humble and honest enough to make that statement. It did not take away from his talent. It was just a very candid admission. Tom Jones on the other hand could take it to another level with ease and many a Black artist admired the man for it. Presley himself is on record extolling the virtues of Jones incredible vocal prowess. It wasn't just mere respect but he was an unabashed fanatic of Jones voice and there is nothing wrong with that. And for the record I happen to be an admirer of BOTH men for quite some time, just in case some bloke may get themselves in a state of anxiety over my comment. Cheers Mates.
And just think, you still see him today...working over at The Voice UK. He's been there for years now. He's never stopped touring and working his whole career. He's worked with just about everybody. Thx. J! 💜 This is so funny and what a legend worldwide.
This is one man that has seriously gotten better looking the older he gets and still sounds incredible!!! I love watching The Voice UK simply to see him perform! lol
This is from the Tom Jones weekly TV variety show that ran 1969 to 1971. I never missed an episode. He’s in his 80’s now and was still performing until covid and in recent years was in The Voice as a coach and wrote his autobiography. It’s very honest and eye opening!
OMG! I can remember back in the day when I was little and watching his show on tv with my mom and aunts. He was electrifying! All the ladies were glued to the tv. He was just Epic!
I've just found your reaction. I haven't laughed so much in a long time, so thank you 😂 With those moves, it's no wonder he had both hips replaced in recent years 😂
This is long, but I grew up with Tom Jones, and I always underestimated him. He was the child of people with money, and rumor had it that he bought his way into the business. Delilah is the song that I always associated with him (and one that that might give you a good react, Jamal). I was nostalgia listening it on TH-cam when they suggested a Tom Jones with Janis Joplin video, clearly pulled from some 70's TV show. I snickered at the thought, because I thought Janis would simply destroy him. I could not have been more wrong. I went down a Tom Jones rabbit hole that night, and left with an incredible amount of new respect for that man's raw talent.
Fascinating insight. Thanks. Tom never made any pretence to be anyone but a sexy crooner, a performer who could keep up with upbeat songs as well. He sang no " in the ghetto " or " killing is out , school is in ".
Jamel, Jamal: Tom is still the greatest ever. Your reaction was priceless and so much fun. You are the greatest reactor anywhere on the net. Keep up the fine work. Thank you.
Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck. My mom used to refer to then as "the Welsh boys" likely because she couldn't say Engelbert's name without laughing.
Oh the Welsh, we can do a lot of things well: dance, write, kiss, but most of all, we can sing. Please continue to delve into our unique culture and react to some more Welsh performers and artists.
I used to watch Tom’s show with my mom. I was a teenager and I still can’t sit still when he sings. He did a redo of a Prince song. Way out there. Amazing.
I saw him in concert in Chattanooga Tennessee in the late 70s. If you were born with an ovary, you were in the audience. Women of all ages were there from lap babies to old great grannies in wheelchairs. He was great!!!
And room keys! LOL now it would be absurd because they don't have the number on them, but back in the day it was a plastic fob with the hotel name and the room number. Women would just lob them shits onto the stage at the hotel he was playing. !!
@Donna Dawson, after looking up all three dance moves, The Monkey, The Hitchhicker and the Jerk, it appears that Tom was doing a combo of them all! I grew up slightly past this era but still did a few of these moves when I was young and could still move like that without pulling any muscles! 😂😂😂 Thanks for the comment Donna. Tom Jones was all that and much, much more when he was young, wasn’t he? He can still sing like nobody’s business. 😉☺️
I’ve seen a lot of reaction videos to this performance by Tom Jones and yours Sir is the best by far I’ve seen here, I’ve watched your reaction to this over 10 times now and still enjoy it 🙌
I was wondering when you was gonna get to this dude...He was AMAZING!!!! Highly popular until he has his own variety show on NBC. He is from Wales and grew up listening to blues and soul music.
Tom Jones was my very first concert! Followed by many, many others. Back in the day when tickets were under $20 and a concert tshirt was $10! I would get some hate if I listed all of the fantastic concerts I’ve been to! 😂
You go, Carrie! There's no other entertainer of this type of genre could do this....then, NOR CERTAINLY NOW. He arrived at the right time and place and generation and made his mark. And I for one, have loved his music, his style, his whole package. I often wonder, of those who are around today, the up and coming on THE VOICE, AMERICAN IDOL, etc. (and some of them are very good), will have musical careers even close to what he's had.
Me encantan tus reacciones, a mi música mexicana 🇲🇽pero NO SE INGLÉS Y NO ENTIENDO TUS DIÁLOGOS 😔🥲 pero me fascina y contagia tu ritmo 🎶 🎵 😍felicidades .....un abrazo
Another song performed by Tom that I really love is The Tower of Song. It's a Leonard Cohen song, but his cover is awesome. Shows how the power of his voice really hasn't faded.
I love this reaction! I love that you sent it over to Leo. He could barely contain himself, much like you! I think you both restarted it several times each and the laughter has been contagious. Keep up the good work!
My grandmother would watch Tom Jones in concert every week and we would sit down and watch too and dare not ask a question. Only until I grew up I understood. He was fantastic. Thanks Granma RIP.

Thank you for reminding me about Englebert!!
Englebert is english
Englebert was originally called Arnold George Dorsey, no wonder he changed it. 😂
This was hilarious! 😂
He was my late Mum’s favourite singer/entertainer. I can see why! 🕺😀
Oh the Welsh, we can do a lot of things well: dance, write, kiss, but most of all, we can sing. Please continue to delve into our unique culture and react to some more Welsh performers and artists.
Not mention your extreme modesty, let's not forget that 😝
@@michw3755 I ain't gonna argue because I think they've got Joe Cocker too! haha
I got the dancing and kissing genes but missed the singing dna 😁
My family has Welsh ancestry and just about all of us can sing, play instruments by ear. Except ME 😂
Please dont allow u.n./e.u. mandated immigration diminish your four olds. They're amazing and fascinating.
Yes
First time I have ever seen that. I don't know what I enjoyed more. His dancing or your reaction to his dancing.
Tom was bad back in the day. Ladies used to throw their underwear on stage at him!!
That's just before they threw the paternity lawsuits....ha ha ha
Back in the day? They still act crazy when he plays Vegas.
@@ncexnyc4466 Ok, good. He still got it. I'm talking about when he was younger and had his show😊
And room keys! LOL now it would be absurd because they don't have the number on them, but back in the day it was a plastic fob with the hotel name and the room number. Women would just lob them shits onto the stage at the hotel he was playing. !!

I love Tom Jones but man you really cracked me up with your response lol 😂 from Aus 🇦🇺
The dance is called “ The Monkey “! The Tom Jones Show was OUT OF SIGHT MAN!!!
Yeah beybeh ✌😉
Something from Tom that is so soulful is I’m Never Going To Fall in Love Again. Straight from the heart.
That was just so fun to watch! He was a gifted singer with an amazing voice and he's not to hard on the eyes either.
I’ve seen a lot of reaction videos to this performance by Tom Jones and yours Sir is the best by far I’ve seen here, I’ve watched your reaction to this over 10 times now and still enjoy it 🙌
Tom is like the male version of a Go-Go dancer, except better, Lol
Those are absolutely go-go moves!
Check out, Tom Jones & Janis Joplin - Raise Your Hand.
Yes! It's amazing!
One of my favourites....for the dancing, The cher for the sexual tension amd the Stevie Wonder, for the soul, and the Sammy Davis for the heart.
Tom Jones definitely felt the music! For the short time he was in the spot light he made a big impact. I still like listening to "It's Not Unusual".
“What’s New Pussycat?”. My mother in law used to love him. And the world had issues with Elvis dancing. 🤦🏼♀️
Finally got to see him live about 2 yrs ago.
Bucket list item checked.
He's still awesome. 💖
And I for one, have loved his music, his
style, his whole package. I often wonder, of those who are around today, the up and coming on THE VOICE, AMERICAN IDOL, etc. (and some of them are very good), will have musical careers even close to what he's had.
My grandmother was crazy about Tom Jones. I was just a little kid.
Women LOVED Tom - great performer and very nice man! Everyone predicted that he'd lose his voice because it had so much power, but it stayed intact!
Check out his "It's Not Unusual" and "She's a Lady". James Brown was born in 1933 and Tom Jones was born in 1940.
Lol...absolutely loved your reaction. Tom was way before my time but when i found him i absolutely love the dude,!!
You should view the original of “Treat Her Right” by Roy Head. He moved like he had no backbone.
True story! Hurts to watch the stage jump/back bend/bent knee move.
Roy Head is incredible!
@@loriobrady4069 Just passed away this year, Roy Head
OMG! How is it I’ve never even heard of this guy? Whoa!! AMAZING. ❤️👍
Tom forgot the Hey!Hey!Hey!. Roy's version and dance moves better, but I still want to see a James Brown version.
Back in the 60's we thought he was a black guy till we saw pix of him. He remains divine!
I love this reaction! I love that you sent it over to Leo. He could barely contain himself, much like you! I think you both restarted it several times each and the laughter has been contagious. Keep up the good work!
YOU are way too ADORABLE!!!
Tom Jones,HAVE MERCY!!!
This Great-Grandmother Thanks You!!!
💗
watched Tom last night, NYE on Jools Holland's Hootenanny…he's 80 years old. Not quite as mobile these days but still the voice! x
My grandmother would watch Tom Jones in concert every week and we would sit down and watch too and dare not ask a question. Only until I grew up I understood. He was fantastic. Thanks Granma RIP.
