This is most splendid piece and presentation to solo instrument. I am envious to cellists for these treasures, although I would never have been able to play this so wonderfully as you have done here. Thank you for this video!
Whenever I feel like to listen a ultimate beauty like Chaconne, I come to this channel and listen. It's timeless! His passion and focus is quite inspirational. This piece must be definitely one of the most challenging one. I started to practice recently and not sure when possibly can play near like him but will keep at it. Thank you! I would like to visit many more and enjoy to listen it.
such a beautiful interpretation of this piece, executed with such great skill! It sounds great on the cello too! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
It's a hundred times better when played on the instrument for which it was composed. The violin. + But I understand that some instruments (cello, viola, flute) need arrangements, to extend their repertoire. Also, I must contradict myself! Although Bach composed the Six Sonatas/Partitas for solo violin, the 'quadruple stopping' is impossible to play, and he may have had the keyboard in mind!
try watching it on a cello transcribed to G minor to preserve the relatively same open string overtones as the violin and see if its perhaps this transcription that you dont like as much
