So Bach and Fender brought together. Bach scored this music for voilin and lute. A very nice interpretation here, the master would not have objected. He often re-arranged his musical material.
When life and humans become almost unbearable, one goes back to Johannes Sebastian, and everything looks better, brighter, and hope is regained that even in the most adverse circumstances, beauty will prevail. Thank you so very much.
I've never seen this kind of classicoelectric guitar playing. It is very elegant and persistent without distortion equipment sticking to the original style of Bach. Very serious attainment. I envy you, Sir.
There's this guy Ethan Winer who played Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo theme on electric guitar. Most cellists sound like rocknroll compared to his playing 😅
The last time I felt like this was two years ago around 3:00 a.m. when I heard the Chaconne for the first time. I remember listening, eyes closed, heart open, feet barely touching the floor from how captivating it was. It was intoxicating, it was organic. But this video… Right now, this music is taking me places. It's taking over my body. It's taking over my mind. I've fallen into somewhat of a trance from the musicality of the electric guitar. I no longer have control of my attention. I'm a slave to the rhythm, a servant to the sound. But with every breath I take, I get a sensation of joy knowing that I can watch this virtuous expression of passion for free in the comfort of my room, and all around my room I can see people like me dancing in a state of bliss. The music enraptures them and they can't resist. They bathe in a light of harmonies that proclaims a clear message… “Everything's gonna be alright…” I'm alive again… This was an almost transcendental experience-a moment where music connects my soul to something far beyond the ordinary. Bach’s Chaconne, even in its classical purity, is a force of human nature. But hearing it reinterpreted on a mellow electric guitar-where gentle sustain meets the subtleties of human touch-transforms it into a composition of profound intimacy and emotional gravity. That mellow guitar tone became a new voice in the choir of Bach interpretations, one with warmth and raw vulnerability, translating Bach’s architectural majesty into a conversation both inward and outward. The cascading arpeggios feel like waves pulling me in, each note soaked in intention. This isn’t just music-it’s a dialogue between centuries of yearning and the immediacy of the present moment. To find myself so immersed in its spell like that time two years ago where I dissolve and the barriers between body, mind, and spirit evaporate speaks volumes about both the piece and its performance. The way I am held in suspense, the trance-like state, and the almost involuntary surrender to its rhythm...these all echo the universal power of music: it dismantles walls, births joy from thin air, and reminds us of our aliveness. This moment of music that I describe, where I’m both a witness and a participant, free yet guided, could be likened to pure reverence. And the room of imagined dancers? They're the outward expressions of my internal symphony, revealing that in these shared moments of listening, we’re never truly alone. As the harmonies bloom and whisper their message, "Everything's gonna be alright," me, like countless others, find a timeless truth in the music. Indeed, in that fleeting eternity, I am alive again-reborn with each note, over and over, and in this I find God’s perfection.
The 1st time I watched this I just got home from a long day and was drinking a glass of scotch. After 2 sips, I’m thinking man this is really potent whiskey. I was blown away. As I watched I realized this musician is in his element…..watch him….his soul is in a different world. His brain is still commanding his nervous system to play the notes thru muscle memory but he is in a different world. He’s left his body. Absolutely beautiful Edvard. Notice the nylon string guitar head in the right background? You don’t learn something like this by picking up your electric guitar one day and learning to play TAB. He’s been playing classical for quite awhile. Great color, tone….the plectrum gives a bit different taste and contrast. Makes me appreciate Bach more listening to individual single notes by themselves or during a scale with 2 note chords or triads. Beautifully played Edvard. ALSO, a huge salute to your team. The audio was spot on. The video was perfect…with most on the subject with perfectly timed scenes of nature. Just enough to ignite the listeners imagination but not distract from the subject. It was artful to see that. Great team. All of you are talented. I see great things in your future.
i appreciate this being played with some gain and not a wall of digtial distortion, compressor, layers of modulation with a shred style, this feels much bigger

This is the greatest piece of music ever written and this was one of the greatest interpretations of it that I have heard in the 55 years since I have been listening to it. I was at first skeptical that it could even be played on an electric guitar. But you pulled it off spectacularly. Absolutely beautiful. Bravo!
Oh my, after having listened to years' worth of rock and classical (and everything else) in my 74 years, I can't tell you how REFRESHING it is to hear a classical piece, especially by Bach, on electric guitar that is NOT ruined by DISTORTION. A "clean" tone on the electric is so much more respectful and appropriate, whereas when these speedballers try to show off their chops using distortion/"fuzztone," it's like they are head-banging their hair around and saying, "Look at me! Look at me!" So, thank you for this. I enjoyed it immensely.
Until hearing this performance, I didn’t know it was possible for an electric guitar to sound beautiful, much less play this work, originally written for solo violin. That is why the individual lines of music are so distinct, and the intervals when played on the violin require double or triple stoppin with the bow and great care with the left fingers to play in tune. I am both improved and impressed. Superbe!
How do you go your whole life not knowing that a certain instrument, especially electric guitar, has the potential to be beautiful? Have you ever heard music on the radio before ? Or old jazz or Pink Floyd solos or something
I've been listening to this piece my entire life on violin as a violinist, and I just said goodbye to someone I hold very dear for a very long time and the return to minor at 12:58 on made me cry harder than it ever has. Something about the guitar and your feel is transcendent compared to the countless recordings I've heard. Thanks
Beautiful, thank you. Many performers just don't understand that the exquisitely beautiful minor to major key transition at 8:26 requires an insightful and quiet touch. You did. You get Bach, just like Moran Wasser does in his 11-string classical performance of this sublime piece. Thank you Edvard.

Nice! Thank's for doing things differently, plying this with a pick, I liked the middle tremolo section... What I loved the most is definitely your sincerity. I've almost always preferred musicians that ply things in their own way, or listening to concertist rehearsing before a concert, repeating short phrases. As a professional musician my self, I prefer sincerity way much more than chirurgical precision. CONGRATS!!!!

You can tell Edvard really did his homework. My favorite recordings of the Bach Chaconne are from the era of violinists like Henryk Szeryng, Nathan Milstein, Jasca Heifetz etc. And I have to say that the phrasing of this performance was astonishingly evocative of those giants of 20th century violin technique. Superbe interprétation de cette célèbre chaconne de Bach.Le son est en parfaite adéquation avec ce morceau.Tout y est..Nuances , changement de rythmes, toucher au mediator parfait sans bruit parasite avec virtuosité. Bravo
Beautiful interpretation. Having grown up on rock music and studied classical guitar in college, I have a great appreciation for this. This is classical, obviously, but I do not hear the “neoclassical” style associated with Yngwie Malmsteen. This is, in my opinion, a truer and more respectful representation of what an electric guitar should sound like when performing this music. I have a healthy appreciation for distortion and overdrive, believe me, but I feel that its best use is for monophonic lead lines, unless the underlying rhythmic content can fit well with distortion. Harmonically rich music like this needs to be clean. I would have loved to hear this played on an archtop - not complaining, just curious as to how it would sound. But you really make that jazzmaster sing. The Hagstrom and Fender amps and their vacuum tubes help as well (I’m assuming the Hagstrom is vacuum tube (valve) powered). Many have been saying that the electric guitar is dead, and that it was essentially a 20th century fad that started with jazz and became associated with rock music. But perhaps electric guitar is not played out - it is coming into its own as a “new” instrument requiring its own special treatment. A player like you makes me think so, anyway.
Incredible, I'm absolutely amazed. This is one of my favorite classical pieces and I'm so happy that there's a version on electrical guitar. You captured the spirit of this piece perfectly. Also, the setting and camera are wonderful! I wished this had more views. Keep up the good work! :)
Agree 100% Bach is unreal! I especially love his works for solo instruments. His fugues and such for keys are indescribable. I have no music that tops it for me.. by anyone ever.

Such beautiful tones and colours. Such a beautiful rendering of the chaconne.
This is a heavenly good performance. I am speechless and overwhelmed with emotions. You are an amazing musician. Thank you for your effort. 🙏🙏🙏
this is impossible. divine work.
❤It’s even more difficult on violin
Lovely playing. Excellent vision and musicality. Thank you for sharing your talents. ❤
absolutely sublime. I am very impressed.
Fantastic! Bach is the greatest
Agree 100% Bach is unreal! I especially love his works for solo instruments. His fugues and such for keys are indescribable. I have no music that tops it for me.. by anyone ever.
Splendid! Magnifico! You're a master, Edvard! inspirational. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart ❣👌
8:30 love the footage you put there Its one of my favorite variations within the piece and it has this absolutely magical indescribable feeling as if time itself has become suspended impossibly so
Your marvellous performance proves the incredible possibility of Bach's music! Thank you for that!!!
What a choice of a piece to play. Amazing. I have always loved this violin partita. Brilliant picking technique too
Nicely played and transcribed!
