The priming ram’s cup corner is catching an edge as it passes through the shell holder. When it pops free the primer flips. My Lyman T2 did the same junk. I put a bevel on the outside corner of the primer cup and polished the inside of the shell holder. Have no more problems.
Hi. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. In this case, that was not the problem with that first primer. After I fixed the big burr on the primer ram, all the primers seated just fine. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
I love the old presses... they just keep on loading time after time after time. They are like a good woman.... if you find one and take care of her, she gives back to you in aces!
Craigslist has some very interesting things that Pop up. I once saw an old 12 station turret press, kinda wish I had bought it. It would have made an interesting conversation piece of nothing else
Old press? I have been using one for 40 years and it does everything very well. I once went to a Hornady progressive press, but came back to "ole Betsy" as I did not need the speed. I'm 73 and will use it until...
I have one of these. The turret won't turn. Any ideas? Can I just take it apart and clean everything up? I don't want to mess anything up. Have been using it just fine as a single stage press. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
It sounds as though the nut at the top of the turret is just too tight. It’s no problem to take it apart. There is a detent ball under the turret, so take care not to lose that. If you remove the ram handle, note the spacer washers on each side of the hole where the large pin goes through. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Hi, Jim and thanks for stopping by. That press came to me with the body and turret in the condition you saw at the beginning of the video, and I don’t know what had been done to them prior, other than covered with oil. All I had to do was clean/prep before paint. With the ball knob, I drilled it with a 13/16” bit which was slightly too big, so I simply “paper-patched” the arm to give it a snug fit. That worked well. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

That press turned out nice. There’s a spar t and mag t press for sale on my local trader. I woulda done snatched them up but the price is a bit high.
To bad..they’re kinda fun to work with. Thanks for stopping by GeorgiaBoy. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
What lights are those. Like them.
Sidney those are called “magnetic sewing machine lights”. They are inexpensive and work very well. I use several of them. Check Amazon for them. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

I just got one of these on trade, how did u attach the ball knob? Did u sand blast this?

Like the handle. How long is it?
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. That handle is 14 inches. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Seems longer than mine. Is it custom?
@@stevenlittle9189 no. It’s the handle that came with the press. The round ball knob on top is custom though. The original was a handlebar type grip.
I like the knob on the end. Is it threaded or just glued?
@@stevenlittle9189 neither. Just pressed on. I had to “paper-patch” it to make it snug. It could be glued though.
I have that same press.
Cool! Its an oldy, but a goodie for sure. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
