    Thank you so much, I"ve been looking for the 4th method for an hour on my own not knowing the "paragraph rule" were for an underline.

    I need to know if it is possible to underline word by word automatically...

    • @sandyhov
      @sandyhov  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wilma,
      I'm not sure what you mean by "word by word automatically." If you mean to always underline the text, you can create a style that has underlining as one of the characteristics. Then everything you assign that style to (or every paragraph you tag with that style) will be underlined. To have that style be your default style, with your document open, select the pointer tool but don't select anything on the page. Then click on the style from the paragraph style palette.
      Hope that's helpful! Enjoy! Sandy

      Sandra Hovatter Thanks for your response, what I mean is to underline ONLY words, not spaces between then. I would like to do that automatically, not one by one, `cause the text underlined is too long.

      Wilma Kroff ji : Here is the Trick ...
      1. Underline the line/area/text/para/whatever u want to custom
      underline.
      2. Open find ; ; type in "Find
      What:"
      3. Now the imp. part... use/select a special Non-Underline Format Style
      in "Change Format" BOX(hope u know 'the last option of Find/Change
      Window').
      4. Click .
      Note : Use ur own modifications/ideas/tricks to get the desired
      results(if i make some mistake), and refine me. Thank You.

      If you want a simple answer, you can just watch the fist minute, instead of being mean and ungrateful.

      Chetan - if you want to have a line above and below the text, you would use the 4th method. In the paragraph rule dialog box, you'll check the box for line above and set the settings, then click on the down arrow and check the box for rule below and set the settings for that line. Enjoy!

      I tried everything I could think of to stroke a line, but I was not successful (CS4). Is that possible?

    • @sandyhov
      @sandyhov  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't understand what you are trying to do. "Stroke a line"? Create a line using the line tool, you can change the line weight in the top menu bar or in the stroke pallette (accessed from Window menu or F10).

    • @monelleny
      @monelleny 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I mean is using the "stroke" feature on a line, e.g., create a red line that has a black border.

    • @sandyhov
      @sandyhov  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, I'm not aware of any way to do that. Essential, the line is a stroke - there isn't a fill and an outline. The only way I know to do this would be to create the line as a rectangular box. Fill the box with red and use a black outline (stroke). Of course, that means the text and the "line" are two different objects.
