    I just replace my factory 2015 KTM Super Duke 1290 R clutch slave cylinder with the Oberon unit and their billet spacer. I inspected mine and found it to have the identical crack around plunger nipple. Replacing it was a breeze because of your video, much appreciated! Your little trick to bleed the slave cylinder saves a lot of time. I however did not reverse bleed the clutch line. Just filled it from the top and bleed the clutch lever from the top. Super easy to do, it took very little fluid. Test ride, it's all good. Clutch engages right away with very little take up. Action was smooth and a little easier to pull then stock. I will bleed the clutch lever again in a day or so just to make sure there aren't any air bubbles trapped in the line.

    Not sure if you're still reading comments, but Oberon referred me to this vid as I was having troubles bleeding all the air out of the Oberon on my SDR, Just wanted to say your method worked perfectly and I greatly appreciate the quality of this vid.
    EDIT: Unfortunately, shortly after I posted this comment I had ongoing issues with excessive free play and narrow clutch friction zone. Multiple bleeds failed to resolve it. I ended up returning the unit for a refund.

    Cheers Mackie, just received my Oberon part today! Feel confident enough now to change it myself after watching your video. I had a similar problem were the fluid was being pushed past a faulty
    o ring in the cylinder. That fluid that gets pushed through ..do I have to worry about were it went? Any chance its now mixed with engine oil and I need to do an oil change?
    Possible it's a stupid question, but if you don't ask you don't learn.
    Thanks.

    • @MackieBass
      @MackieBass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. That fluid cannot physically enter the engine oil. It's only hydraulic pressure to operate the slave cylinder to push the clutch mechanism. So don't need to worry about that, but do inspect it for any damage or cracks etc, as it can be part of a bigger picture. Double check you manual and installation instructions, my video may help, but I'm no expert buddy. Good luck and stay safe.

    • @pauln6803
      @pauln6803 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I'm assuming you've got this fixed from nearly a year ago!
      But for anyone else the bleed nipples do weep a bit of fluid past the screw threads when bleeding and they need a good bit of torque for such a small screw, leading to knackered threads over time and repeated bleeding.
      Another thing you will find is the copper sealing washers between the banjo will compress, so it's wise to leave things overnight and tighten the bolts up again the next day.
      So yeah, if you change your lines or parts, just nip things up a second time to ensure that everything is tight.
      Trust me, I learn things the hard way!

      @@4869498 Stock one is known to be a really weak point on the bike - Oberon has double o rings on the piston and made from much better materials. Definitely worth upgrading as OEM will fail at some point like mine just has at 15k miles!
