Absolutely LOVING these verbal essays on DandaDan!!!!! The fantastic attention to the innate details is so enjoyable to listen to. I actually ended up finally watching/reading DandaDan because of your essay about Okarun and Momo's relationship so thank you because now I'm fully locked in. Really appreciate all your hard work and am thoroughly looking forward to more of these!!!!!
Thank you so much for such a kind message!! It's so important to me that everyone watching gets something out of it. I can't express how honoured I am to have contributed to bringing a new fan into the Dandadan community. Thank you for watching my video :)) I hope you enjoy the channel going forward, friend. Your viewership is so valued.
acro-silky’s stories absolutely shatters me so much. mom’s carry guilt like nobody’s business. they are constantly expected to be everything, to take care of everyone, to do the impossible every single day. burn out isn’t an option, especially in the case of silky. she showed up every day for her baby, and still in the end she was so worried that she hadn’t done enough. every clip and scene we see of her little girl showcases such a happy and well-cared for child that’s been loved dearly. it’s heartbreaking in every way. i feel for her character so deeply. that’s not a story i see often enough, but it’s so real. i’m grateful that aira was able to give her comfort in those final moments. that mama did her best, and she loved her baby with all of her heart. she fought as hard as she could when the unthinkable happened. i hope she was able to / will be able to reunite with her daughter someday ♥️
Thank you for such a heartfelt comment. It is such a difficult story to watch but beneath the tragedy - beauty shines through. Thank you for watching :))
Man. Brella Boy, Zuma, and Bega hit like a ton of bricks in the feels. One of the aspects about his yokai transformation is that, like the others, his personality changes but it doesn't harness any of the negative energy. Zuma becomes an even more selfless protector. To the point that he uses one of his two precious umbrellas to shield Momo from the rain. Proving one, that his good nature can also cause problems; and two, that his umbrellas aren't just weapons.
The world isn't ready for Unji Zuma's story to be animated - I swear down it will break people. Thanks for watching and for such an insightful comment! :))
The example of Brella Boy suggests to me that while regret, rage, etc. are the usual causes of humans becoming yokai after death in this series, it can also happen for positive reasons, reflecting how yokai in mythology were sometimes benevolent beings.
Honestly, it just fills me with hope. The Yokai are the embodiment of so many things we all go through in life. Brella Boy's story is overwhelming - the power of brotherhood is really something core to my soul. Thank you for watching, and for your insightful comment :))
17:43 This is a lesson that was of great comfort to me back when my grandfather passed away from disease. It seemed so unfair to have his long life end, alone (he was dying from Covid before the vaccine so we were not allowed to visit him), suffering. But our death, whether it is horrific or peaceful, is only a tiny part of our life, and it shouldn't color everything that came before or determine how good the life was.
Thank you for sharing such a personal story, and I'm sorry for your loss. Life comes at us hard and fast, it can be difficult to know what to make of it at times. I'm really pleased to hear your take on life - its comforting to hear that people don't need to define themselves by the suffering. Thank you so much for watching, friend. I hope you are doing well now :)
@@safetysonrookie I am, though at the risk of getting too personal I didn't learn this lesson on my own. In a dream unlike any I've had before or since I saw my grandfather, or at least a representation of him. I felt happiness from him somehow. All he said was "you're focusing on the wrong thing," and then vanished.
@Ryodraco The human spirit is an uncharted entity. I dont know where such an experience came from - however, I'm very pleased to hear that you got what you needed from it :)
Yo, bro, the second video on Dandadan and this one is also fire! Your analysis is so deep and full of attention to various details that it evokes real respect. Very grateful ❤
Your videos are incredibly insightful and interesting yet deliberate in their points and not clickbait-y. Will continue to watch as many of these as you put out. Incredible form of content, please keep up the stellar work bro
oh my god. you so perfectly articulate every aspect of the story, and you bring up aspects of the characters that I never even realised. this and you momokarun video made me sob so hard, you've put so much care and effort into these videos which I just love to see. I can't wait to see what you have to say going forward, and I'll be keeping up with any future Dandadan content you make!!! such an incredible video, this and the last one, and I seriously can't wait for more!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for such a kind comment - it really makes all the work worth it when I read this. I'm absolutely going to keep up with this style of content! I have more Dandadan in the works and I'm also going to start blending in a variety of different subjects too :)) I hope you look forward to it and enjoy the channel!
I don't ever comment on any video I watch but your previous essay and this one moved me enough to show my appreciation. Absolutely fantastic analysis that makes me enjoy a series that I already loved even more (didn't think that was even possible with how obsessed I am with Dandadan rn xD). Keep up the good work! Thank you for such a nice comment - i honestly can't express how meaningful all the positivity i get from my viewers is. I'm also obsessed with it (if the two 45+ minute videos weren't enough to tell haha) so I get ya man :)) Expect more! I hope you enjoy the channel!!
@@safetysonrookie You deserve the positivity man. It's rare to get such high quality video essays on any topic, let alone anime/manga (at least from my experience). Based on your Dandadan videos I think you have a gift for this kinda stuff, to keep such long videos engaging (tho perhaps short by some TH-cam essay standards lol) and thought provoking throughout the entire runtime. Very impressive indeed! I look forward to more from you and hope that your channel goes a long way. [MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ps. Your description of Zuma's backstory made me almost cry again just like when I read it the first time ToT pss. @bidityapaul939 I have no words that could express my appreciation for your comment - it really helps me want to jump straight back into working :)) thank you Writing that section genuinely made me well up 3 times, ngl. It really highlights the brutality that is inherent to life. Having to pick yourself up and be good is so hard - Zuma managing to overcome that pushed him near the top of my list for the series. I need Okarun and Momo to be official lol but I also love the slow burn so this is pretty much a perfect torture every Monday hahah Thanks for watching :)
@@safetysonrookie Very well said! I can certainly relate to trying to be the best you can be despite being given an unfavorable hand by society (tho my life isn't nearly as depressing as Zuma's lol). Goes to show you just how much a piece of fiction can make you think when it hits just right. Another thing I found very interesting that you pointed out is how the 'unseen' is highlighted so much in the story. I think that might come from the author's background before Dandadan, being a mangaka for years constantly getting his ideas rejected or cancelled, even during his time editing for Fujimoto, seeing the rest of his peers get their own manga serialized and being a hit seemingly effortlessly while Tatsu for the longest time remained 'unseen'. I couldn't imagine being in that position, feeling the things he probably did, and STILL managing to make an absolute banger like Dandadan. But that's just speculation really xD Btw I really like that you respond to so many comments! I think it gives a good sense of community and grows room for very interesting discussion. Excellent job conveying these stories and linking them to the main romance narrative of the series. Now I kind of dread what lesson the next yokai is going to teach. The Brella Boy was already painful enough I don't think I'm going to survive something even more heartbreaking 😭
I definitely think the series seems to be moving toward some bigger entities in the Yokai world now. We are definitely going to get something ground-shaking in this next arc. I'm excited yet terrified lol Thanks for watching :))
Very methodical in your break down. Despite my obsession with this series at first I thought that most of the antagonists were pretty superficial. Clearly this isn’t the case, but as a demon slayer fan I wish that the fights had a little more action and hype to them. I know that the space globalist arc once animated will probably deliver so let’s cross our fingers. Great breakdown
Definitely hear you - i think that action takes a back seat to character (which i personally adore about Dandadan) but now the manga seems to be moving into a more overarching plot - we will likely see more action, i think! :)) Thanks for watching!!
