Achilles made all his solders keep Yarrow on them when in battle to help stop bleeding if they where injured. The Latin name for the flower is Achillea Millefolium named after him.

Your fluent lecture and the quality of the photography make this a fine educational film..Yarrow has long been my favorite wildflower for its odor, which I first smelled as a boy back in Amsterdam, and yarrow has followed me through Canada and now The East Cascades of Washington in great abundance, and I like to colloect a quart or so of dried leaves and flowers as a supplement to other teas and I find that putting a fresh small flower twig and the very top to put in each nostril...the odor helps my sinuses yearns for more, so something opens...

Very much enjoyed this vid! I've got 20+ yarrow planted in my yard and am excited about making salves and oils. Thanks for the info:)

You're welcome and I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. Let me know how the salves and oils work out. I've been researching preparations for future videos. And I love your handle, cool name.

Hi there, thanks for the visit. I have just cut my comfrey down and have a batch a FPJ started, and a bunch drying to make salves and oils from. They flower before the yarrow, so I'd play with them first! I will make a vid when I do the salve and oil. Have a great day:)

This is a very good production, loaded with useful information. Excellent post-production as well. Thank you for a job well done. Only one suggestion: You could slow down your narration a bit, and tone down the music. A few words were indistinct.

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Wayne Warmack thanks for the positive feedback, I appreciate it. I already killed off the music in future videos. I cringe now when I listen to these older videos.
