I have recently discovered yarrow, and have fallen in love with it. I'm thankful to have a lot of it growing all around me on our property. Waiting for it all to bloom to make a tincture. Oh I have a really cool story. My friend cut her finger. I rushed and got some yarrow. We applied it to the cut and by the time we got back to the house the wound was healed. It was radical! I was so happy my friends and family got to see why I was so excited over yarrow!
Thank you, Zack, for taking the time to make this video. I recently moved to the Ozarks of Missouri where I am free to roam around and wild craft now, much more so than back where I moved from. I saw Yarrow blooming and couldn't wait to learn more about it. I ordered my tincture bottles, cleaned my dehydrator, have my vodka all ready to go!! When I harvest next year's, I plan to carry a small amount of this year's with me and leave as an offering to the land. Thank you again for helping me to create my own apothecary. Love and light always. Blessings.
Good video, but you didn't show that its NOT the same as Queen Anns Lace, and how to tell the difference...and the drying temp for best preservation of the product dry...first timers may need that info...cant dry it too hot or you loose properties...but great video still...😊👍
So you don't use the flowers for the tincture... I'm infusing Yarrow flowers and some dried leaves in oil (as many leaves as came with the flowers, but the bulk of it is flowers). Should I strain it and re-infuse just purely the leaves, not the flowers? Where's the medicine?
Thank you 😊 for sharing your knowledge 🙏
How to use the tincture?

use fresh plants in tinctures
@@DS-nv8bi yes, great advice Dawn. And dried herb in your oils. The exception is St.John’s Wort, which should always be used fresh in either.
@@CiaofCleburne right on
Found red yarrow planted as an ornamental in my city. Grabbed a few seed heads
Thank you! I’m old but new at herbalism.

Great video man. Keeping the medicinal plant knowledge alive! Hello from Idaho 😊
This is ( peuon phole )❤❤❤
Thank you for your teaching!
How do you use the tincture once it is ready?
The problem is every time i tell people about herb they don’t take it seriously so screw it
Excellent information you have to share & you explain it all very well! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Is it safe to use the ones growing by road sides? I have alot by me but the area is terribly busy with people, dogs and cars
It's not really safe to use plants close to a road - there's pollution & God knows what as they area may have been sprayed.
We are using apple cider vinegar to make ours
Can I add rum instead of vodka
They say use vodka or whiskey to make tinctures. Rum has way too much sugar.

I say this with a smile…is it the Yarrow or the 100 proof vodka that makes the pain go away?? LOL
