Thank you for the education on the hogweed We really enjoy your contagious enthusiastic presentation with lovely photography and music. The presentations are wonderful in bringing these medicinal plants to life with their many health benefits.
This is my new favourite channel, I need it right now, both mentally and physically. Very much enjoy your videos -and trying these new things. It’s clear, interesting and an all round good vibe😊 thank you 🙏
You never mentioned that Common Hogweed leaf stems have a furrow running up them much like Celery. The leaves are also downy and can vary considerably in shape. I have even seen Common Hogweed plats that are entirely dark purple.
Dear Sir. Was taking a walk the other day and all I could do look at stingy nettles and flowers. Going to grab a bag and help myself to some of Gods amazing medicine larder. 🙏❤️ Love from Scotland ❤️🙏
Thanks for another great video, I would love to see you preparing and cooking the natures broccoli leaf and flower bulb bits as am nervous to just try it myself 😊
Thank you so much for introducing me to the world of foraging 👍 After watching several of your videos I've just subscribed. Looking forward to more videos on this fascinating subject.
I always learn from your videos! I think it would be great if once a season, you and your wife do a special video on preparing/cooking what's available at that time. Or do each video as things come into bloom or growth. I loved your nettle bread, and the recipe worked great for me, but when it comes to cooking wild plants, I get nervous because I've never done it. Each new thing I try makes me confident to use it again, I'm sure others may feel the same?
Thank you as always man, I am so so grateful that I came across your channel and the positivity that literally pours out of you! You’re wicked dude love from Essex
What about the difference between Hogweed and the very fatal Hemlock and water Dropwort! All Umbellifers! Please explain the difference because Hemlock and Dropwort are so dangerous!
A couple of years ago we were driving near Dartmoor and we saw the giant hogweed - it was enormous! I have lots of common hogweed in our field and in our duck pens. I keep wanting to try cooking the buds like calabrese, but it always bursts into flower before I get a chance! I think I'll go out for a sniff now! LOL! Thank you.
Thank you for doing one on hog weed it's one of my favourite greens i prefer the younger leafs and stems. It has a hollow stem which is a good identity tip. I always learn lodes from this exalent channel. Your knowledge and wisdom is incredible. I have been meaning to get your books. 💚 ☀️🔥🌱
Love your videos. Do you think you could eventually make a video explaining the difference between common Hogweed and Hemlock? I think it's important people should know how similar they are and how dangerous Hemlock can be :)
Ah nice, glad you’ve made a video on hogweed it’s one of my faves! 😊 I wonder if you can help me with a query tho - is there any reason we couldn’t eat the more mature hogweed leaves before/after the plant has started to flower? Perhaps to dehydrate into a powder to add to other meals for the flavour? Or does it become unsuitable for consumption like nettle leaves do? I can’t seem to find a definitive answer anywhere. Thank you as ever for your service!!
Thank you for this definition. How can we identify the young fronds that emerge when the plant is first sprouting? from that of the common and giant hogweed?
I live in Pennsylvania USA I had what I thought were scratches and in two weeks they turned into a blistering painful itch rash. I don't usually get posion ivy but thought maybe ? Dr said it was from hogweed. I dont think we have giant hogweed. and do not live near a river. So I guess im saying that the common hogweed may also cause issues.
I was interested in your video on the two hogweeds. But they look a lot like what we have here around the US, queen Anne's Lace, poison hemlock and water hemlock. It seems like you're in England? Are these there, too?
Been walking around the North Cave Wetlands today. Come across lots of Giant Hogweed and Hemlock. Even though I can tell the difference between them, I still have yet to eat Cow Parsnip. Not worth the risk in my opinion.
as a kid in the 60s and 70s, there was no giant hogweed, there might have been hemlock but there certainly wasnt any warnings about anything really. it does seem however we epent a lot of our free time thrashing through great stands of what everyone called builder or bilder. this could be what it goes in the southwest or cornwall or just north cornwall. now, however im in the u.s. so i cant go to the near bit of unkempt land for a possitive i.d. but our builder looks like your hogweed, or is builder something completely different. will no history of giant hogweed it was quite a shock the first time i saw one over here- it was massive, like a tree. it looked most unfriendly- no thrashing through great stand of this. full armour and a chain saw maybe.
It's great what you're telling us, but I can't help but want to make one pedantic comment; you keep saying ''leafs'' , but that's not right is it? It's ''leaves'' yeah ? The plural of leaf.

How do I use to help lungs 🙏
❤ Random ?
Can Mulberry leaves be used to make laundry detergent? I'm not getting results from google.. ❤
As a kid we used to use the hollow stems as pea shooters, with hawthorn berries, as ammunition. Used to call it Cow Parsley as well. 🖖😊🙏
Cow Parsley or Anthriscue Sylvestris is completely different to Common Hogweed and flowers earlier in the season.
@@catherinewells2480 thank you for informing me of this, I will check it out😊

Thank you, so much! You were the first person to give me a good comparison between conmon and giant hogweed. We definitely have giant hogweed.🫨
Also take a look at Uk wild craft lewis gives a very informative view of both of these plants really close up. Hope this also helps.

It does if you get the sap on skin. As I found out!
Fantastic Dane, thank you.would it be possible to mix it up with hemlock water dropwort?

Another great video. Love the Bob Marley line.
I didn't realise that plants can contain testosterone

I would not mess with it at all. It’s just too closely related.😊
Looks very similar to queen annes lace.
Its a good rule to avoid plants with purple blotches , many toxic plants seem to have them.
Are there any good ones with it ?
💯💯💯
Lure us in with a Buddha bush, then terrify us with blisters. Who knew parsnips were savage?!

Cloudy because of the geo engineering
They always spray ahead of coldfronts.
it sounds like you are saying wonder instead of wander! (maybe you are doing both?!)
Do you manage to just forage all your food for your family?
It looks too close to Hemlock
🤍
looks like yarrow
Do you really shave your top lip every day??
Yeah I'll pass..
