Conductor Karel Chichon is enjoying himself as much as his wife, Elina. Great show!
Elina Garanca captures the rebellious spirit of Carmen like no one else. Bravo!
I think Callas embodied Carmen like no one will ever do, Elina comes close though.

Since Carmen burst onto the world scene over 130 years ago there has only been one interpreter to get it right and that is Elina Garanca. All the others make it a caricature. Elina sings and acts the part making it so believable. Sorry Shirley, Rise, Rosa, Elina has taken you to school!
Julia Migenes does a fantastic job as well. And plays the part with authenticity -- dark-skinned Gypsy harlot, complete with hairy armpits!

Bei der Habanera nahm ich Bezug auf den Maestro, der mehr von Carmen hat als die singende Hausfrau. Es ist also nicht doppelt!

I'm not offended, I just want people to show a bit respect. As I wrote (!) some people like something that others don't. But why not discuss the good and the bad, why not criticize constructively, instead of just mocking? (no, it was not funny). Dialogue is good for both parties, and that comments (on other vid, too) were not attempts for a dialogue.
To a degree, I agree with the content, I protest against the form.

There is a time lag because the image has to bounce off a satellite. You will notice bigger time lags when CNN or FOX news asks a reporter in another country to say something.
