what's sad to me is that I was going to graduate alone anyway. I've been homeschooled on and off but mostly on for my whole life. I've worked so hard for this. I scheduled my days, took online classes, worked so hard, sometimes not seeing my friends for months, but always hoping when it was over we could all celebrate our accomplishment. My graduation won't be like my older sister's. Hers was a wonderful celebration, but with mine it's going to be quiet and I can't help but feel kind of bitter that all my hard work is ending in nothing. Next year it won't even matter. I won't even get to hug my best friend since childhood who is also graduating this year before she joins the military, and that sucks so so much, much more than missing a conventional graduation

My grade nite was cancelled and my school recent put the policy of pass and not passing for grading during this time. The grade system may be good for some people, but it’s hard for me to accept because I have put so much work on my grades for high school. I wanted for my transcript to reflect the type person I am, a person that works hard to improve. Now it doesn’t matter because my hard work won’t be shown for my last semester and people will only see that I passed.
This has been extremely difficult for me. I'm also a 2020 senior and during my 3 months in isolation I developed adult ADHD and with it severe depression(I already had depression). So not only was everything important to me taken away, but I've also had to deal with a new mental illness in turn.
You probably didn't develop it, it just got worse and more prevalent because you had no other way of getting rid of the excess energy. It's been the same for me and I want to get myself checked because of these recent events, but hey, we're all strong and we will be able to get through this. Just one foot in front of the other, and we'll find the silver lining through all of this.
I am currently in the sixth grade, so I won't ever be able to relate to your pain, and I'm sorry for that. But I sincerely hope that things can become better, and that maybe you won't be stripped of your final year.

March the 13th, 2020. They had just canceled our Musical Mamma Mia! Which we had been working on since November of 2019. I looked at my best friend and said "See you Monday", Monday never Happened. Just like that, Our Senior year was Over
I wish I had that chance to give that final goodbye to my teachers but the gov keeps extending school closures and covid cases in New York are escalating out of control. I’ve lost my final season of track and very possibly even prom and graduation. Fuck the coronavirus. I guess this is a lesson to never treat a moment like it’s your last. 12 years of blood, sweat and tears all building up to the year of 2020. Enemies became family and teachers became guardians. 12 years of gathering the guts to ask that one boy to prom. I guess here in South Africa we are privelliged to return back to school on the 1st of June ...but our prom is cancelled ,we are not allowed to embrace friends but rather to stay 5 feet apart from them ,all culture and sport events are stripped away from us, we have to stay in one desigated school desk for the rest of the year, we get suspended when we share our food stationary or love to those who need it the most .All we are allowed to do is to learn , study and write tests , exams or hand in assignments.How are we supposed to stay motivated ? We will never know which day is going to be the last day that we see our friends or even if its going to be our last day on earth . Every day is going to be such a scary mystery and I am affraid. I realise that it's nobody's fault but that makes it so much harder to not have someone to blame the circumstances on. ...
