@@Urbanscopetv The UDC should lobby the government to build a streetcar/light rail train. One going uptown and one going west all the way to Portmore. Traffic is a detriment to a city. Cities need rail transit to move more people on their feet.

Encouraging to see this development. Should consider trees and shading, as well as connecting the Palisodoes walking/running area to the downtown area so that there’s a complete public waterfront. The good thing is that downtown is already walkable. Some more preservation of the older buildings, some more murals and points of interest would also serve it well. We don’t need a flashy capital that copies other capitals but a vibrant, Jamaican one.

Excellent point, it should be developed but still retain the unique features of Jamaica. Down Town has so much potential! I love the ideas. I feel so encouraged. The intention is that we make a better, liveable place for our Jamaican people. Another part of the development should include the revitalisation of the Ward Theatre and the different civic centers, restoration of St Williams Grant Park, the restoration of our churches. There should also make the city and oasis with trees, walk ways, jogging trails, seated areas and little points of interests juxtaposed and scattered as go about Down Town. And also why not make the Oceana Hotel have a 360 Restaurants and Roof Top bar and lounge......so much possibilites......BUT importantly ensure that every one of these are in accordance with proper town planning in order to have a well run and aesthetically pleasing city! We must leave a positive legacy for the future generation to look back and be pleased with.

I like these developments that I'm seeing downtown in these videos, especially, near the waterfront. For a time downtown seemed hopelessly mired in crimes to the point where many businesses, schools and even churches were fleeing or just shutting down for good.
It still grieves me how the large, beautiful All Saints All Age School and All Saints Primary had to close down because of the violence.
Anyway, Kingston is historic and important so it has to be maintained/improved, at least to the extent possible in light of everything.

Do you know that sky scrapers are not modern"The first sky scraper was the Woolworth building in New York was built in 1900. It was the tallest building in the world, then Chicago built the Sears Towers a few decades later, and that became the tallest building in the world. Then countries in Asia started building them. I think Malaysia was the first country in Asia to build sky scrapers , one building became the tallest in the world. Other countries started to follow. Saudi Arabia has taken it to a new level, with buildings so tall you can see them swaying in the wind. Take note, the first sky scraper was build over a century ago. All the johnnie- come -countries are 100 yrs too late. Another thing Jamaica has a population of a little over two million, so is going to occupy all these sky-scrapers
