I totally agreed.. She's fantastic either as Fie and Alfin.. But when she's Alfin there's one thing I really loved of her: when she's teasing Rean and Elis in the very first games, expecially when she goes "te-ee"

Agreed. Olivier gets all the credit, but Alfin is just as much of a lol troll as him for laughs, but simultaneously also seriously heart-warming.. Well he is too I guess, but I think she pulls it off better with her less screen time... He gets more screentime though.. blah! Alfin is underrated IMO. If she had the amount of content Olivier did, I think she would be the fan fave by far.
Thumbs up to you for putting her back in the princess outfit. That's the first thing I did. I wish she had casual clothes but I'm not having her and Elise run around in their school outfits when nothing they're doing has anything to do with school.
If Musse hasn't show up, I would always choose Alfin 100% of the times. I loved her since the very first game and not because she's the princess but because she's the sweetest girl I have ever seen. In the games we hear many times that Alfin is "the most precious treasure of the empire" and it's true. She's a treasure that worth much more than a whole chest filled with gold (uncharted style) or anything that Miras can buy. I'm sorry if she's only my 2nd choice in this game but I can't help myself because Musse stole my heart completely... P.S. in my game, when I chose this path to make the PS trophy related Rean didn't say that he already called Elise to explain. I don't know if there are different version of the game or something but the dialogue was pretty different
I wish Sean Chiplock had ANY voiced lines for these scenes. XSeed would have done it. I suppose I'm grateful NISA didn't fully drop the ball and the script and dub are still good, but it's hard not to think about how XSeed went the extra mile and recorded more VA for the games.
Well... Rean's up to become prince consort then certainly emperor. I mean, Olivert isn't interested in becoming Emperor and it would stop him from working in the shadows. Plus he is a bastard (not as an insult). With Cedric out of the waynit leave Alfin and Olivert for the throne. Alfin is, I think, a perfect choice for taking after her father and would be a perfect ruler. Plus she is really popular and well loved among both the common peoples and the nobles (where Olivert is more appreciate by the commoner than the nobles). With Rean at her side, that would most certainly make her more popular. But the question is elsewhere. Is Rean ok to become emperor? He wouldn't have the same power as Alfin (like her father have more power than Priscilla, she would have more power than Rean) but he would become one of the more important people in the empire. Granted her families and her people would have no problem with him (he prove himself more than one) but Rean seem to like his peacefulness. But is he up to the task? Most certainly, yes. Is he ready? If he must, yes. Does he want it? Hum... Not sure here. But Alfin is one really lovable character and an interesting one. She is both intelligent and perceptive, with an iron will and who knows her weakness and limits. Add a playfull and charming personnality full of wits and subtility (and who loves her punchlines) and how can you tell her no?
OK so she allied herself with elise so she could stay in the race while she was too young and even tried to stop musse from winning and in the end left elise on her own to win it all herself... sounds like an awful lot of planning to me :-)
All of them or most of them. In the 3rd game I romanced Alisa cause they made her canon af and then i accidentally romance Emma too. Then in the 4th game, I did Laura's 1st bonding event of the game and she said she felt the same way as Emma and Alisa about Rean and straight kissed him. So Im guessing she didnt mind if Rean had a harem full of girls. Not sure about the other girls as im playing it through rn.
I just got to the ending bonding events and um you cant actually have a harem. By the end of the game, you only can choose one which makes me cry but it’s whatever.
My head canon. Rean marries Alfin and becomes emperor, then he gets a harem of all the ladies. He will be know as the Ashen Emperor and his descendants will be known as the children of Ashes
So I like the idea of emperor Rean but mostly due to the extremely major technicality of Osborne being the reincarnation of Driecales which by anime logic makes Rean the most legit heir to the throne
honestly the first and second bonding event should ve been inserted into the story. that olivier song moment being in a bonding event is wasted. especially since that song now Has a lot of context due to olivier parents
The only problem I had with the bonding events was they should have been all spoken to keep you in the moment, I feel like the scene loses a bit of its feel when they switch from spoken to txt during the event,
Apparently the reason for this is that Rean's Japanese voice actor is just too expensive, so the developers gave Rean the bare minimum of voice tracks to work with for the sake of reducing costs. I don't know the full details of how it works, but it's apparently not possible to give the English VA more voiced lines without basically making the game again from scratch, as was done in the PC ports of Cold Steel I and II.

The original PS3 and PSP releases both had voiced dialogue in the exact same places as the Japanese version and nowhere else. Even then, a few additional voiced clips is a luxury feature that doesn't really bring in that many new buyers. XSeed went the extra mile to add in new voiced clips for the PC and PS4 versions of Cold Steel and Cold Steel 2. They're a company made up of JRPG fans (or at least they were at the time) and they chose to do something nice for JRPG fans even though it likely cost them money. That was awesome on their part, but I doubt many other companies would be willing to put in that extra work for little to no extra profit.
A shame Alfin doesn't kiss Rean like almost all the other romance options in this game once you reach the final bonding event with them. What do you all think would happen if Rean got engaged to Alfin and became the next Emperor of Erebonia?
Rean as the next emperor of Erebonia could lead the country in a good future. He has proven himself to be quite capable as a leader, is a strong and renowed fighter and is in possession of important traits like smarts and humbleness. And he also is capable of standing his ground and follow his ideals if necessary.

Actually, the explanation for so many of Rean’s voices being unvoiced is because his Japanese voice actor, Kouki Uchiyama, is apparently really expensive so they only have him voice Rean during important story cutscenes. His English voice actor, Sean Chiplock, would be available to voice the lines but because there aren’t any video game coding that would play audio for the lines, he can’t.
@@Saiyef96 Going for Uchiyama was a double-edged sword. On one hand, yeah, he's a great voice actor, but the result was cutting corners and leaving certain scenes unvoiced, taking away some of the immersion factor when it comes to Rean's personality.
