Just reached this part and Laura’s first special bonding event hit me most. I’ve been a Laurean since CS1 but their first event in CS4 just show how strong their bond and her feelings are to Rean. Unlike other girls who love Rean for being Rean, Laura also see him more than that, she sees him as a fellow sword practitioner, which became a part of their life. And for people who’s practicing towards greatness in their swordplay, they both feel powerless when their loved ones died and their friends struggle. Basically Laura’s understand the swordsman aspect of Rean, while no other waifu could.
When I saw Laura back in CS1, the fact that she could notice something was amiss within Rean just from seeing his swordsmanship alone, I knew she was the one

I was sold to a Laura-ship permanently due to the bonding event in CS1 where she made lunch. That was just too adorable. I did find it disappointing we couldn't walk around and talk to everyone after the final battle in CS4.
Honestly I feel like her father will be overjoyed. Rean's a master swordsman, he's honorable, has a strong sense of justice and has shown himself to be worthy of being called a hero. He couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law to help Laura carry on the family legacy. Laura's possessive fan club is what Rean really should be worrying about.

Low key disappointed the voice actress changed, because a lot of appeal for me with Laura was how sexy her first voice actress's voice was. But it sounds like the new actress nails it too. It'll just take getting used to.

@@johnle1535 Cold Steel 1 Alisa, especially. Now admittedly, she mellows out later on, but Cold Steel 1 Alisa definitely rubs me the wrong way. Laura and Emma felt more natural. Especially since Rean never deserved that slap in the old schoolhouse when she ended up on top of him with her boobs on his face. It's an annoying trope that needs to die. And introducing your main characters in that manner is never a good sign, it's a cheap attempt at making teenage awkwardness funny or charming. But I wouldn't go as far as saying the voice actress is annoying, I think that's stretching it a little. Let's keep it to the character please.
I just started Trails of Cold Steel and absolutely love it. I'm so invested in this series now. I'm currently in chapter 6 of CS1 so I'll be started CS2 soon. I was curious about Laura and Rean and found myself here. I've gotta say, I'm not a fan of the new voice actress for Laura. Ugh! Oh well. At any rate I'm sure Laura will remain my choice for Rean's love interest throughout the series.
Its because Rean's Japanese voice actor is actually one of the more famous, and thus expensive to hire, voice actors. And unlike XSeed, NiSA didn't fix this when they localized the game.
Nothing’s been said but I’m guessing it was a scheduling conflict with other projects that left her unable to voice Laura, like with Max Mittleman who voiced Lechter and McBurn who said on his Twitter that the reason he couldn’t voice them was because of a scheduling conflict where he was voicing in another big project. They also replaced the voice actors for Osborne, Leonidas (the dreadlocks guy from Zephyr), General Craig and the Red Constellation sniper (the last two were voiced by Sean Schemmel).

So I'm about to start the cold steel series and is this part of the series super strict on time management like Persona 3-5 is? Since i remember killscottkill mentioned in a youtube vid about trails that steel mimics persona to some parts but better.
I mean you would miss out on side quest if you progress past a certain point in the chapter. In CS1 and 2 there are hidden quest but in 3 and 4 they removed the hidden quest. Plus the game will tell you if you progress past this point certain stuff will be gone
I wouldn't say it's as much as a focus : you're not forced to choose between leveling up or bonding with other characters for example. You can't increase the relationship with everyone at the same time but i think that's about it.
Nah. Doesn't have a calendar management system like the Persona games do. But it is important to be as through as possible when looking around for quests, loot and other things. And whatever you do, try not to rush from one boss fight to the next. As you might need to do a few more monster fights then you'd probably want to in order to maintain your level rates between your party members.
It gets tiring how all she talks about with Rean is the fact that she has feelings she hasn't shown anyone and that they're both swordfighters. It just doesn't seem like real chemistry to me.
Well they also talked about food and had an event in a technology shop back in cs2. Oh and Laura also begun showing interest in cooking, she gave Rean a bento once. Also I don't see the problem with talking about swords when both are swordsmen, it's a main topic of their lives, and the thikg about feelings, I see it as someone who isn't good at expressing herself and just wants to have more confidence and boldness, like in the cave, and in that society it's true that she behaves more like a gentleman than a lady, ir may not seem important to us because we live in a different world, but if she's worried about losing to other girls, it's perfectly understandable in her context, even her father Victor was worried because of the same reason and he hoped his daugther didn't have a difficult time finding a partner because of it
