I was just thinking the same thing people who go into this series thinking it’s just another cliche j RPG where villains are just evil for the sake of being evil then they are in for a shock hats off to falcom they are just amazing 👍
Fie and Laura and Juna have, in my opinion, the best scenes here (though Emma comes in a very close fourth). But there's just something about Fie...like...she basically felt like she was in the friend zone since she was younger than the other Old Class VII girls, so seeing her just be so happy Rean chose her makes me shed a tear. She deserves all the love.
She was my pick when I played CSIV for the first time. (I'm picking Juna for my second run) Fie's scenes here were just fantastic. Also funny enough, while I know a lot of people complained initially when Fie didn't get a traditional love confession in Cold Steel II or III, in retrospect I think her scenes across the entire series are some of the best in terms of their natural flow, when compared to many of the other Original Class VII girls. Thankfully, Fie doesn't suffer from the Cold Steel III reset, where the game just acts like her final events in the previous game never happened. Like if you romance Alisa, Emma or Laura in Cold Steel II. Rean flat out confesses his love to them. Then come Cold Steel III...that confession is completely forgotten about and they're back to the "will they or won't they" phase in their relationship. Rean has to confess again at the end of Cold Steel III as though this were the first time it ever happened. Alisa at least remembers the confession in IV, but to my knowledge, Laura and Emma just act like it never happened AGAIN and Rean has to confess AGAIN at the end of IV for it to finally stick. It's a shame because Laura and Emma really do have great scenes, but the fact that the story just keeps forgetting that Rean confessed to them makes their bonding events feel less natural. It's like the player is stuck in some kind of endless confession loop and only at the very end of the saga are we able to get out of it. With Fie there's never any such issue. They have a moment in Cold Steel II, but neither of them actually confess. Fie says Rean is very important to her, but she can't quite accurately express the depths of her feelings yet. So these two still being in the "will they, or won't they" phase in their relationship still makes narrative sense in Cold Steel III since they never actually got together. Fie keeps trying to find the words to express what she feels throughout Cold Steel III and then finally can put her feelings into words in Cold Steel IV. Nothing feels like it is ever forgotten about. The relationship just has a nice and believable flow from beginning to end. It's just great to watch it progress from game to game.
Did you watch Altina's scene? She still believes she's emotionally defective and can't comprehend why Rean would choose her over the other girls. Meanwhile Rean knows just how much she's grown over the last few years. Seeing her cry there just broke my heart.
@@ARCAlpha12 True that would have made the scene even more impactful. In general I don't see why they can't just voice all the cutscenes. I mean there are longer visual novels with every line voiced so I can't see why it can't be done here. At least for all the bonding events.
@@pdpgb likely time constraints. I know that’s why Millium’s VA couldn’t do Cold Steel 3 originally, because she was busy recording Tiny Tina’s lines for I think borderlands 3 at the time, and I think that’s also why they had to change Laura’s VA in CS4.

When I played the first two games, I fell in love with Fie since the very start. She was beautiful, smart and "something else" using a phrase we see many times in the game... At the start of game 3, when I saw her grown up and with her beautiful new style with long hair that feeling I had grew even stronger until I found Musse which suddenly stolen my heart even more than her. But seeing this grand FIE-nale (sorry for the silly jokes) I feel so proud to see my old crush in Rean's arms. She deserves it, more than everyone else beside my beloved Musse, as I stated before, and Towa which is the most natural choice I could have done if I were Rean...
I just realise this might be the only time Randy is civil with Shirley and not out for her and the Red Constellation’s blood (or rather defending himself against the bloodthirsty maniac).
They don't hate each other. Shirley has even mellow out since Azure. In fact, they respect each other (somehow) and like each other. They are enemy too, yes, but... Look at Randy's room. She may have make herself home, she didn't disrespect his most precious things (photos, gift for and from the SSS...) and kept them intact and clean.

Fie is an extremely likeable character. She is resourceful story wise and gameplay wise(in CS4 she is the strongest, Laura used to be the nuke of the team but she felt kinda weak in 4) I preferred Laura since she was older(and boy did she carry CS 1-3) but Fie is definitely 2nd. I really never liked Alisa though, the two have nothing in common and she is the most useless character to have in a fight too(at least for me)
Gaius basically powecrept laura in terms of nuking ability since his s craft has a higher power rating than laura's (he was already good in CS1 and CS2). But people still use Laura over him since she's a waifu and Gaius is a dude
Fie was honestly my best party member in CS2 especially with the scud ripper where her 30% k.o. felt more like 50% and delay spam with rean basically made my party untouchable in most encounters
Talk to Xeno and Leo in Crossbell's Neinvalli branch with Fie in your team the next day and they will ask whether something happened between them. If you didn't choose her ending Fie will comment "Unfortunately not". I don't know what she says if you did pick her though.

She's a monster at 100% evasion - sirius master quartz, rage quartz, and the highest strength quartz. Unhittable and 100% range counter guarantee damaging almost 50k. In all tocs games, she's my number 1 option, next to her is Juna with almost the same stats.
I disagree with both of you. Laura has shown affection sign since CS1 but so has Emma. But you have to do their bond event in cs1 to saw it. Especially with Emma (their are some hint in Legram for Laura). It's more clear in cs2 yes. But it's already here in cs1. Misty/Vita will even tease Rean about Emma if you plan to dating her and take her to Heimdall to take the clothes for the concert. It's obvious after playing cs2 (or even the entire serie) that Vita is happy for Emma and rooting for her... Even if she knows that they're going to be ennemy soon.
@@sterenn726 Emma didn't really have any romantic moments in her CS1 bonding events ultimately she was just watching over him because she knew he was going to become a divine knight pilot and she was slowly starting to reveal she was a witch. It wasn't until CS2 when her secret finally got revealed that her bonding events started showing signs of romance. Misty will always tease Rean about going on a romantic getaway with whatever girl Rean brings with him to get the clothes even if he brings Fie or Millium.

I lost a portion of my life (five years) waiting for this moment over four entire Trails titles. But it was WORTH IT!

I feel like the romance with Laura in CSIII and IV is very forced. She never really showed interest in Rean prior to CSIII.
