for anyone asking about Gibdo bones: they break after one use no matter what, including on a Lynel's back. Gibdo bones are best used on arrows, especially from multishot bows.
I thought they were useless 💀
@@mielleppens7586 w/ a 5x savage lynel bow they are cheap options to increase your damage from 160 to 360 per shot.
(If you don't want to use lynel saber horns or ancient blades, that is.)

@@mielleppens7586 if you equip a bow, then press up for insta-fuse, press y until highest damage, they are accessable very quickly!

The most broken weapon multipliers will always only be useable for Lynel spanking. Unless the community discovers some other way to preserve critical weapons that doesn't get patched.

If you go in the depths you can get an undecayed sword instead, which would boost the attack quite a bit.

@@lukepage6159 I've never found one, but I know they exist. I would assume they would be near the Hyrule Castle area in the depths.
@@lukepage6159 It's random, what you need to do is use sensor + and track the royal guards claymore pristine via a picture of it in your compendium (use that old mans book if you don't have a picture of it). I've found 2 in the depth after flying around a bit.

@@CL-os5cz not completely random. Mostly random, though, yes. Any time those respawn with their shadowy companion it'll always be the same type of weapon. Two handed, one handed or a spear. That won't ever change. Some weapons are also more likely to spawn in certain locations, such as zora weapons near the domain. Same applies to all weapons commonly used by specific races.
As for whether there's a higher chance for those near hyrule castle, I actually don't know. However it's important to note that you can't find a pristine version of a weapon until you have found and broken a decayed version. Lastly, any lad holding weapons in the depths will pretty much always have a traveler's weapon the first time and it won't change from that next blood moon unless you take it from him that first time. If you need a royal guard's weapon to find and break, plenty are in hyrule castle, specifically the sanctum has one of every type of weapon (including a bow, and possibly excluding the spear, but I know for a fact there's another in the castle if not there)
It is actually better for general use if you use the light scale trident and Sidons ability rather than the royal claymore. It has better durability and isn't about to break so you dont have to only fight lynels with your God weapon.

An easy attack up 3 recipe is 3 bananas a mighty thistle and a dragons horn. Gives you the effect for 30 minutes so go nuts

No, since gibdo bones break off after one hit, even on lynels.
They totally got me with those. I was so excited about that 40 attack bonus, but didn't notice how easily they broke until after replacing all my fusion materials with gibdo bones T_T
same. I was all hyped until I found out it broke fast.
I got too excited when I found out it was stronger than Silver level drops, and I had like 80 of them. My disappointment was immeasurable when I found out they only last one hit. Oh well, they're great for arrows though...

If you hit the royal guard weapons two times after the “your weapon is badly damaged” alert shows up, then you actually get a 4x damage bonus (the game is sneaky and doesn’t show it). This will total to around 800ish damage per hit

You can also bring this damage up even further if you manage to get your hands on a Fixed royal guard claymore

You can get a similar damage buff from stacking the set bonus of one of the hero armors with +3 attack up and any kind of double damage weapon perk (Zora weapons wanting to be wet comes to mind). Slightly less than bone weapons on royal guard gear but has the added benefit of being usable for much, much longer

I got the radiant set early into the game but I just finally got it to level 2, haven't messed around withbone proficiency yet tho, very exited to! I thought it would maybe give the bones more durability, but this damage buff is rlly cool too, especially since I still got some molduga fangs lying around in my inventory!

problem is, if you use the royal guard claymore in that scenario, it'll break unless you specifically swing once or twice and then repair it over and over again.

Once you finish the Rito village main quest go down to the depths. Under Rito village you’ll be able to find the boss for that quest line and fight it again. Once beaten it drops its jaw bone which has a higher attack increase than the molduga. Which probably boosts it from 800 to 900 or somewhere in between.
That's not a bone, that's an insect's mandible. No bone bonus.

@@jameswalmsley9038 Go to a random well and drop all your weapons, shields, bows, and shoot all your arrows. Then warp to somewhere really far and then go to hateno village shop and sell all your sellable clothes, items and foods
Then go to the temple of time ruins in great plateau and bring out all your zonai devices then teleport to hyrule castle then go under hyrule castle save and then go to the menu and then make a new game and then boom you got the set yay

Repaired Knight’s Halberd + Molduga Jaw + 1 Heart left + Bone Proficiency + Attack Up 3 Food = ~500 damage on crit without a near-broken weapon.
Should also add: Critical Up skill makes this all the better

that isn't even the maximum damage ever found.
we've found a way to deal 3844 damage with one hit of one weapon.
but that's a really specific circumstance, so i bring you:
the same setup you showed, but using a pristine RG claymore, for a total of 874 damage
same setup but using a gibdo bone, 961 damage but it's one use only
if you want something that won't break, you'll have to sacrifice power, so you can make MNF deal 388 damage, or 432 if you use a gibdo bone, but it kind of defeats the point of an unbreakable weapon
plus a ton of others using things like freezing, sneakstrikes, jump attacks, that obviously increase the damage even more.
and if you REALLY want to go overboard, you can zuggle (basically hold multiple weapons at once) to deal enough damage to one shot gleeoks, and even Ganondorf himself
I'll even link a damage calculator made by KreaTV1. he's insane, but in a good way. Just play a bit with it, you'll find weapons that deal way more than 800

Most broken early game thing is fusing the bone arms to weapons. +20 attack bonus. Yes they break off the weapon quickly but it's good while it lasts
I also use it with Zora weapons so that I don’t have to break my Royal Guard weapons. Just use Sidon’s ability to make your character wet so that it doubles your attack damage.
The following weapons and items will get the Bone proficiency bonus. If any part of your weapon/arrow contains one of the below, the bonus applies
Dragonbone Boko Bow
Stal arms (Bokoblin, Moblin, Lizalfos)
Stalnox Horn
Molduga jaw
Spiny Bone (commonly found around death mountain)
Gibdo Bone
Don't forget Molgera Jaw
Not to mention bone weapons deal a lot of damage

For general use yeah that’s probably a good way to go, but rgc will always get you the highest damage
@@halcyon_exb highest damage yes, but only useful for lynel smacking. If you want a weapon you can use anytime on any monster, I'd suggest a scimitar of the seven fused with a saber horn. It doubles the fuse atk power, up to 138.

I ran into this issue when I tried out the OP bone weapon in the floating colosseum, I was lynel spanking and I accidentally hit my attack button after getting thrown off the lynel (I wasn't expecting the red lynel to die in three hits) and I broke it. Luckily I saved before the fight, so I tried again. All five fights didn't last that long
so happy to hear this, I loved the luminous luchador set in botw and felt it was a super fun build. the dragon bone club would deal *4 damage with the set if it also was on fire. the only downsides were it being outclassed by the guardian set and its low durability. so happy to see they're doing more with it in totk
5x arrow lynel bows with Gibdo bones deal even more damag
Assuming the order of applied multipliers in the damage formula used in the video is correct
72(32 base+40) gibdo bone arrow dmg*5 = 360
360*1.8(bone atk up) = 648
648*1.5(atk up lv3) = 972
972*2(headshot damage) = 1944
You can deal 1944 damage in a single shot, and because of bullet time, your total DPS is way higher than that

There’s a way to make this damage higher, if you use a Royal guards claymore until it is badly damaged and then fuse the molduga bone to it, the Royal guards claymore preserves the bonus it got from being badly damaged and then you can proceed with the rest of the steps

If you have a pristine eightfold blade with + 10 attack up with a molduga Jan and bone armor and attack up food you can deal 2505 dampgenerator with a sneakstrike.

How to make it even MORE broken:
Search for the best zora weapon you can find, Fuse bone to the Zora weapon, then when in a fight, put down a hydrant or splash yourself with a fruit and boom. Now it’s even more powerful.

Just slap an ancient blade on the scimitar of the seven, and you instantly already have over two hundred. You won't be able to use the bone proficiency bonus, but I'm sure you'll be able to figure something out.
Ancient blade just deletes the target with no item drops though?
Scimitar has 28 Base damage. if you add an ancient blade, that brings it to 78, but given the scimitar has strong fusion, it ups it to 128. Still not up to two hundred.
Also, ancient blade breaks after one hit no matter what, even if you're on lynelback.
You can actually push this even higher with the weather damage amps because they apply separately from the attack up buff
