@@carlosdgutierrez6570 I have it now since I was tired of getting my shields absolutely destroyed and I even took it to one of those rock octoroks to get its durability up
Depending on how froggy you're feeling, you can use the Phantom Ganon set (or radiant set upgraded to level 2 if you're scared) and fuse a Moldoga jaw to your Royal Guard's Claymore. This turns the weapon into a bone weapon for the purpose of scaling. This can be combined with Attack Up (you'll have to eat for it) to edge out Silver Lynel horns as the top damage dealing weapon. I also heard that you can further double the Royal Guard's Claymore damage (regardless fuse, set bonus, etc.) by leaving 1 hit remaining in It's durability. I haven't tried it so I can't confirm that part.
Fantastic guide! Didn’t find this until I was further in the game but still immensely helped! Having 3 of the 4 sages I can say that they just get in the way except for Tulin who came in clutch and staggered the final Lynel when I was out of Fairies and down to my last heart. I was then able to mount and finish him off.
@@Perpetual-lunacy For sure! I rarely use any other sage but Tulin is out 99% of the time. My only complaint is when I forget to put him away when using octorocks to fix weapons. It sucks every time he one shots them and I have to go find another. Lol
For lynels, it helps to aim for the beard, lower than the eyes. This seems to consistently stagger them. So try aiming lower then you might otherwise try to. It also gets much easier with multi-shot bows.
Literally watched this then did it all within the hour and it's an excellent guide. I especially found the hint to lock onto the Lynels helpful to get more consistent headshots. Thanks bud!
What was TREMENDOUSLY helpful was autobuilding yourself a Z-shaped wooden platform that you could hook over the railing on the "spectator area" and use it to Ascend to higher ground instantly, and bullet-time those bastards from above. This doesn't trigger the "roar" effect because it doesn't touch the ground (?), and you can put it in place before the fight even begins. This was a game changer. Aside from that, I was having a lot of trouble getting the lynels to go down after a headshot, despite the "ding" sound. So I mostly ended up wearing them down with arrows (but the overpowered sword trick came in handy a few times). Thank you for the guide.
Bro you're a life saver. I've been hunting Lynels for awhile now and only found a few for farming. I never knew there was an entire colosseum of these guys in the depths.
If you use the item duplication glitch there’s no need to farm anything after killing the first one. That being said, using glitches isn’t a particularly “honorable” so if you have an issue with it I get it.
If you fuse a Zonai wing to you shield, you get extra height when jumping it shield surf. It lets you activate the bullet time effect with you bow. Makes the headshots much easier.
Also, I believe you can smack the Royal Guard Claymore into the ground *TWO* more times after it gives the message that it's badly damaged. Which will max out it's attack power, making the fights that much quicker. Just... Gotta make sure you don't spam attack too much and break the thing with a jump strike after the forced dismount.
If you fuse a wing shield to your bow, you can access bullet time while jumping with your shield, it can make it waaaay easier to hit the lynel in the face to stagger it
It’s stupid how well this worked. Once I did all the prep, I managed to slice through those lynels like butter. Thank you so much for the super helpful guide!
tip for anyone with bad aim: if you attach a wing device to your shield, and use that shield to Shield-Jump in combat you will gain enough height to enter Bullet-time with you bow. which should give you plenty oppertunity to aim your shots.
I was having trouble getting the fusion part to work. Just had to fuse the material and sword first then damaged it. Thank God for saves. Great video. Can't wait to get through the rest of it.
For anyone else struggling with the head shots - use the stairs on either side of the entrance to get some height and fly off to get slow motion aiming. Don’t go all the way up the stairs though as the headshot won’t count or the lynel will disappear, just go up like half way
This dude is a legend the most in depth guide I’ve seen since totk came out he even put in the video how to get the fierce deity set instead of putting some random link amazing video
pro tip, you get kicked off the back of the lynel after a certain amount of hits. If you still have stamina, you can actually just start aiming with your bow to get into bullet time. You will be able to get a few shots in, which is quite a bit of dmg with a savage lynel bow.
Tip to make fighting the lynels even easier: In brief.....The stairs, use the starirs. There are a couple of stairs around the coliseum, just lure them close to the stairs and you can use them to avoid taking any damage and also take advantage of the height to enter bullet time and get an easy headshot. Repeat the process with each and every Lynel and you're done. Also have a shield ready because if the Lynel starts using the bow, no headshot is going to save you. I'll upload a clip for even more detail. P.S: Nice tutorial 🙌
If you're far along enough you can use Mineru construct to get air time instead. Using the stairs will trigger Lynels into using their bow and make them impervious to being stunned from a headshot.
bro, this is literally the best video of seen on ToTK yet. i followed this guide step by step. the only thing i did different was just dodge on every rush attack and mount them. thank you bro i’m feeling OP already!!! great vid. earned a sub. 🎉
One of my least favorite aspects of BotW was that Majora's Mask was a DLC freebie you could grab right after the tutorial area. It totally broke the game and replaced the monster masks which you have to travel far and work hard to get. I'm glad it's such an undertaking now.
To the two guys who commented “Just don’t use it”. The whole thing about Majora’s mask being right outside of the starter area is a problem for a lot of people (me included) because anyone who starts playing the game with already buying the dlc, means that they can basically play the rest of the game without fighting anything, and not having the experience of having to work for the monster masks. On the other hand, it has been 6 years since botw released so I’d say it’s fair game by now
one of the most straight forward and informative guides I've ever seen. you earned a sub. Below is only for Its Shatter but if you want to read it you can. *edit* I have been farming this for materials and zonite and I just want to thank you. Please, please continue what you doing. You are amazing (I wrote an entire 3.5 paragraphs about why your so good but figured no one would want to read that.)
Here's a tip no one has said yet: Stick close to the chest in the centre and strafe around it. It acts as a wall and lynels AI gets confused and any charge attacks will stop right at the treasure chest. Also you don't need to do them all in one go. You can kill one and come back later. Also when you kill one the autosave will take you back to the latest one you are fighting when you die. Ultimately learn the different attacks and use the chest to and multi-shot bows the lynels drop to your advantage.
After watching your vid I defeated all 5 of the lynels and got the majoras mask. I didnt use bomb flowers for the last one because I did not bring any with me, and used a hammer I had to destroy his armor instead. This guide was soooo helpful!!!
You can also attach monster eyes to your arrows to increase the odds of a headshot. I don’t know if this clashes with the three arrow burst of the lynel bows though, so you may just want this for single shot arrows. Edit: forget monster eyes. Use rockets. They eat away Lynel armor in a few shots, are an instant snipe and they headshot hard.
Heres a tip: Make a critical attack meal. After that, go get your claymore Break that claymore Go find a pristine version in the depths. Go find a molduga. Kill said molduga and fuse the jaw to the pristine royal guards claymore. Bring that down to 1 hp (not just badly damaged, it gets an extra buff on the last hit.) Get either bone prof armor set (skeleton or ganon) Now, when you go to fight the lynel, use your attack up meal with the bone up stuff equipped. And use the sword on its back. This does nearly 2000 damage per swing
It doesn't come close of doing 2,000 damage per hit. It does 918 damage per hit. The math is (49+32)*2*2*1.05*1.8*1.5=918. The 49 for the claymore is from getting a modifier of +10.
Man i never knew that combat technique with thr Lynels and especially the part about no weapon durability loss from the back...that changes everything! I will be running this with the bone weap upgrade version...thank you sir
If you want to pack a bit more punch, if you destroy your Royal Guard's Claymore it can respawn as a "pristine" version in the depths from the shadow soldiers holding the weapons. There is a whole method of getting the exact pristine version of an item, and pristine versions do more damage and even allows for you to re-roll for special modifiers when first obtaining them.
Fierce deity should have been links power up in the storyline! I feel like everyone had their moment, man give him that DBZ power up moment like Ganondorf had in this game
Agreed...the sages all got their power up moments via the secret stones. Link should've achieved a more powerful form via the Deity set like he did in Majora's Mask complete with the beam attacks on every swing. Just makes me mad they didn't make the sword for it a 1h weapon as it was originally whenever he would don the mask.
Instead of a black bokoblin horn, I would use a Captain III construct horn. They have a fuse attack power of 25, and 2 captain 3s are guaranteed at the ruins at the top of the map with a sky view tower in them.
Something i did for the Lynel fight is attach a glider to a shield and did shield jumps which now go higher than normal. If timed right, you can do a bullet timed arrow shot which makes aiming for the chin a lot easier.
If you have a lot of healing items it’s not all that crazy, you have a 1shot protection if you have full hearts, so as long as you keep yourself at full health you won’t get oneshotted.
It’s not so bad once you’re used to fighting Lynels since the mechanics were not changed at all from BOTW. Normally would stand with shield up and wait for them to charge you and Parry them then shoot the face and repeat. Once you get used to how they move and where to aim, you’re golden. And just like Rureno just said, as long as your hearts are capped they can’t 1-shot you. *FAIR WARNING THOUGH* if you have Bonus hearts, it does away with the one-shot protection and you will then get 1-shotted if you don’t have a fairy. (I got surprised by that little issue while fighting Moldugas lol)
Kinda cheese but you can kite the lynels hard using the chest in the center of the colosseum, (if you didn’t already grab it). No attack he has can go through it. Do be careful with the spear lynel. It has farther range and it can jump over it.
So I found another way to deal with armor, lighting damage does a significant amount of damage to armor, sometimes more than explosives. The lightning companion you get after completing the Gerudo desert temple allows you to peel armor, almost instantly off nearly every enemy in the game with a single arrow (you don't even need to directly hit them, just get close enough). It involves another quest but honestly it's worth it
Another tip is to find the lightning dragon, it's relatively easy to find and has a lot of materials on its back, you just need acess to a high enough place to catch it's up draft or you can catch it on its way to the depths. It should be close to the Gerudo desert, it's got a lot of good weapon fusion materials on its back that respawn pretty frequently abd if you ride it through the depths you can mark a lot of bright bulbs for late while remaining completely safe. It's just a little bit of a long trip
You can also skip all of this and then glue two chests to eachother, the lynels will just scream at it forever and not do anything. It does take a little trouble to get them to start the scream, but once you do you've won the fight.
Thanks soo much man! this worked and it was sooo easy. I had fused my claymore with a diamond so it didn’t break midway through, and i pretty much 2 phased every one! appreciate it so much!!!
Nice video, nice guide and nice farewell. Thank you for all that and best lucks to you and Marshmallow (she could definitely beat the Lynels without much effort considering how agile she seems)
I have to say, good sir, that this is some of the finest TotK content I've found on TH-cam. Extensive and thorough, well shot, well edited, and well explained, and smart gameplay and tips all around. Absolutely subbed. Thanks for the guide and I look forward to using the it to get some major upgrades soon. Give Marshmallow some extra head scritches from me :D
A good tip to do when your in the santum getting the claymore, bow, and sheild is to light the 2 torch things with fire (they are right infront of the throne if you go up the stairs) and you get a peice of armor
I fused the claymore with a diamond first. I used it in battle normally for the first two lynels before letting it become heavily damaged and using the strategy. A tip for hitting headshots with the arrows: drop a spicy pepper on the ground and shoot it with a fire fruit. It will create an updraft you can use to go into bullet time and get easy headshots.
Hi. For feeding the dogs, I found that 4 pieces of raw meat work very well. After the dog eats the 4th piece, the dog will sparkle brightly, jump a bit, then lead you to treasure. This includes stables, except Snowfield Stable, where feeding dogs without the food freezing is difficult.
Just an FYI, if you feed a weapon to the rock octorock they will repair it (most weapons at least) and add a random enhancement, saving the need of constantly seperating fusions.
If you manage to get a head-shot on the Lynel from behind while in midair post backflip, won't that just stun them again to reset the ride so you can get even more free hits with your uber strong weapon? I tend to do the very same thing vs a Frox when they shake me off and bump me up into the air in an attempt to swallow me. I pop my paraglider and either line up another shot on the eye manually in midair via slo-mo, or I attach a Keese eyeball for an easy snipe, stunning him again, thus allowing me to drop back down to attack it some more.
Thankyou! Use to be a seasonal lynel hunter back in botw and this was hella fun, did it my first try too! Had slight trouble with the armoured one, but that blunt weapon trick came in clutch!
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but there's an item that will break Lynels armor easier. Fuse a Lynel hoof to your arrow does considerably more damage, although you'll need 4 or 5 to break it's armor entirely. Also, and I don't know if anyone knows this, (and believe me, it's totally nuts!!) But a lightweight vehicle, utilizing 3 or 4 small wheels can break a Lynel's armor completely. (He recommended doing this with using a cart as it's base.) But with the way they move, it has to be timed remarkably well, and with good speed, it will be broken all at once. I was watching someone who specializes in vehicles, and he discovered this very randomly. If this appeals to anyone, King X is the TH-camr who discovered this, by remaking a similar vehicle that someone else had once made, with their approval, of course.
For what it's worth, you can still get the Fierce Deity set from the Young Link amiibo. I can personally confirm at least the mask is available from the amiibo.
@@shaftinc8739 same thing. Sell the extra for a ton of rupees. I got 2 val Dahl masks, one from amiibo and then from chest. Sold the extra for 600 rupees.
Wouldn't a better fuse material be gibdo bones? It's really easy to farm them if you haven't done the gerudo story yet. They have 40 fuse power and if they don't break in one hit then that is twice as good as black monster horns. And its probably easier to get a gerudo claymore that doubles the just the fuse material than having to worry about accidentally smashing your royal guard claymore.
@@taha51617 the gibdo bone will break just not the sword, the gibdo bone is a 1 and done thing so it is more ideal to use them with arrows instead of melee weapons
TIPS: 1. if you are bad at aiming, use keese eyes or other monster eyes for basically aimbot for headshots(its a 50/50 chance for headshots) buy make sure the lynel is facing you 2. fight a black boss bokoblin (use bombs far away to lower its health before attacking it) a boss bokoblin in found in lurelin village in the pirate ship 3. dont be sacred! it is just a game, if you die, just reload your save! and dont be scared because the lynels have the gloom on them, they are the same! just always keep your distance ifbyou are not going on its back
Another tip for the fight. Put down a fan or fuse something to a shield so you can get into the air & shoot them on the way down. It's way easier to hit them with bullet time.
I duplicated an ancient blade (which has 50 fuse power) and got a weapons with 164 damage. I feel like I’m going to SHRED that lynel. Edit: Don’t be like me, it just makes the lynel disappear, without dropping the Loot.
Some tips that may have been covered by the other commenter. Get a wing device for your shield. You can perform a shield surf and bullet time to hit Lionel face for all Lionel. For the last Lionel u can run towards the steps and jump off the ledge turn 180° and consecutive bullet time bomb arrows until the armor breaks.
It bears mentioning that you don't have to run to the side or back of the lynel to get the Mount prompt; you can roll right up on him from any angle and press A to ride the ride.
Thank you so much for this!! This was so incredibly helpful. I’m still relatively early on in TOTK and the idea of facing the Lynels again was petrifying. 😂 And I saw another commenter give some very helpful information about ways to get the fierce deity sword back when it breaks by going to one of the Poe statues. All super helpful! Thank you!!
I used a Blue Mane Lynel Saber Horn with the damaged Royal Guard's Claymore giving me 130 attack damage, and I took out a White Maned Lynel in the Depths with only 5 mounted attacks. And there are other fuse materials that are even higher than this Saber Horn. Side note, after you attach the fuse material, you have to "redamage" your weapon. For some reason, for me at least, it seems to reset the durability when you attach the fuse material.
If anyone may be struggling to hit the lynels head. Try furing a zonaite wing to your shield, perform a shield hop (ZL, X and then A) and now you can trigger bullet time. Gives you an easy shot at their head
PHEW, man that was INTENSE!! I probably died about 20 times, did BETTER with motion aiming turned on, AND I had to disable my sages, but I got it!! I did fuse my weapon with the silver lynel horn and BOY was it worth it. I only had to mount the final Lynel twice to kill it. And I beat it with ONE HEART LEFT!!! I was sweating so much but it was worth it!!!

I can confirm it does double the damage again on the claymore
Fantastic guide! Didn’t find this until I was further in the game but still immensely helped!
Having 3 of the 4 sages I can say that they just get in the way except for Tulin who came in clutch and staggered the final Lynel when I was out of Fairies and down to my last heart. I was then able to mount and finish him off.
Thanks for the kind donation Nooblar! Happy to hear this video was helpful, cheers to that!

@@Perpetual-lunacy For sure! I rarely use any other sage but Tulin is out 99% of the time. My only complaint is when I forget to put him away when using octorocks to fix weapons. It sucks every time he one shots them and I have to go find another. Lol
@@n00blar2006 ikr also his aim can get Lynel headshots
Your videos are by far the best. No fluff, straight to the point, great guides.

Tip: You can also focus mainly on getting hearts and also upgrading the fierce deity armor to get more op.
If you fuse a wing shield to your bow, you can access bullet time while jumping with your shield, it can make it waaaay easier to hit the lynel in the face to stagger it
It’s stupid how well this worked. Once I did all the prep, I managed to slice through those lynels like butter.
Thank you so much for the super helpful guide!

tip for anyone with bad aim:
if you attach a wing device to your shield, and use that shield to Shield-Jump in combat you will gain enough height to enter Bullet-time with you bow. which should give you plenty oppertunity to aim your shots.
That is such a fire tip thanks bro

I love exploits in games that aren't gamebreaking, just taking advantage of mechanics in the game. Great video, thank you!
Thanks to you two weeks into buying tears of the kingdom. I got majora’s mask. Thank you a lot.
For anyone else struggling with the head shots - use the stairs on either side of the entrance to get some height and fly off to get slow motion aiming. Don’t go all the way up the stairs though as the headshot won’t count or the lynel will disappear, just go up like half way
you can attach a wing to your shield which will deliver the same effect but you can enter slow motion aiming anywhere you want
You will be able to get a few shots in, which is quite a bit of dmg with a savage lynel bow.
my bow dies before the lynel dies thou.....
If you keep the chest between you and the lynel, it's easier to hit him with the bow. The lynels can't jump over the chest and often get stuck on it.
Tysm for this i coulndt land all three headshots but air time makes it a ton easier😊
The real pro tips always in the comments. Thanks, this helped so much!
Wow, amazing guide. And one of the most useful tears of the kingdom videos i have seen so far. Getting a sub!
thanks, Will!
Agreed I subbed too
Same, there's so many useful little details that are often left out. I've been missing a lot
If you put a stalnox horn on the royal guards claymore you can get it up to 122
One of my least favorite aspects of BotW was that Majora's Mask was a DLC freebie you could grab right after the tutorial area. It totally broke the game and replaced the monster masks which you have to travel far and work hard to get. I'm glad it's such an undertaking now.
Yeah but its an option just like picking a hard mode vs an easy mode to a game...
you can just not use it... it's that simple
I agree I really feel like I've earned it now
To the two guys who commented “Just don’t use it”.

Great video. Note you can skip the whole quest and go directly to the Fierce armor locations. You don't need the quest at all.
Here's a tip no one has said yet:
Stick close to the chest in the centre and strafe around it.
They eat away Lynel armor in a few shots, are an instant snipe and they headshot hard.
it doesn't and its a great way for killing gleeok's too as all 3 arrows go for their eyes
The fact that you can save between them is really nice, I thought you couldn't do it. Now I can finally get the mask
Heres a tip:
Make a critical attack meal.
After that, go get your claymore
Break that claymore
Go find a pristine version in the depths.
Go find a molduga.
Kill said molduga and fuse the jaw to the pristine royal guards claymore.
Bring that down to 1 hp (not just badly damaged, it gets an extra buff on the last hit.)
Get either bone prof armor set (skeleton or ganon)
Now, when you go to fight the lynel, use your attack up meal with the bone up stuff equipped.
What an amazing tutorial and straight to the point video! Thanks. Marshmallow is best, also.
Just makes me mad they didn't make the sword for it a 1h weapon as it was originally whenever he would don the mask.
omg thank you so much i’ve never beaten any lynels before and i was able to beat them all super easily with your tutorial, thank you
Instead of a black bokoblin horn, I would use a Captain III construct horn. They have a fuse attack power of 25, and 2 captain 3s are guaranteed at the ruins at the top of the map with a sky view tower in them.
that's what I did as well worked great
I used a silver horriblin or whatever it had like a 32 and gave me 128 damage
Something i did for the Lynel fight is attach a glider to a shield and did shield jumps which now go higher than normal. If timed right, you can do a bullet timed arrow shot which makes aiming for the chin a lot easier.
Fighting a lionel with 4 hearts. Thats crazy even with all equipment
It’s easy if you have good weapons and an attack buff active
I always fight lynels with 3 hearts
Followed this guide. Can run through 5 lynels flawlessly. Needless to say, im OP now. Thanks!
Lovely to hear, now try Malenia with max 15 vigor solo.
Bro wrong game
Kinda cheese but you can kite the lynels hard using the chest in the center of the colosseum, (if you didn’t already grab it). No attack he has can go through it. Do be careful with the spear lynel. It has farther range and it can jump over it.
i beat it 1 hp pure skillz whatever the cheese xD
What do you do with the chest?
It's just a little bit of a long trip
when you jump off the lynrl you should go into bullet time for that extra chip of damage
That is an option, I just like to conserve bow durability since the majority of damage is dealt with the sword without having to damage anything.
@@ItsShatter tru
I bought this game last week and I learn something new literally every hour
You can also skip all of this and then glue two chests to eachother, the lynels will just scream at it forever and not do anything.
It does take a little trouble to get them to start the scream, but once you do you've won the fight.
Thanks soo much man! this worked and it was sooo easy. I had fused my claymore with a diamond so it didn’t break midway through, and i pretty much 2 phased every one! appreciate it so much!!!

Easier, fuse Wing with the Shield and JumpSurf the Shield, while in the air shoot an arrow and you will be in Bullet time
This is really well made, excellent guide man.
Just an FYI, if you feed a weapon to the rock octorock they will repair it (most weapons at least) and add a random enhancement, saving the need of constantly seperating fusions.

After mounting the lynel and getting your hits, when you backflip off, go into bullet-time (slow-mo) and get some arrow hits in as your combo ender 👍
cant pull the bow out while doing that
@@MichMasteR you can at the end when you get hit off while in bullet time
If you manage to get a head-shot on the Lynel from behind while in midair post backflip, won't that just stun them again to reset the ride so you can get even more free hits with your uber strong weapon? I tend to do the very same thing vs a Frox when they shake me off and bump me up into the air in an attempt to swallow me. I pop my paraglider and either line up another shot on the eye manually in midair via slo-mo, or I attach a Keese eyeball for an easy snipe, stunning him again, thus allowing me to drop back down to attack it some more.
Thankyou! Use to be a seasonal lynel hunter back in botw and this was hella fun, did it my first try too! Had slight trouble with the armoured one, but that blunt weapon trick came in clutch!
I really bad at aiming,so i always use keese eyeball...

Another tip for the fight. Put down a fan or fuse something to a shield so you can get into the air & shoot them on the way down. It's way easier to hit them with bullet time.
