Seems like an issue that can be easily fixed with a split dpad. I've got too many issues with my PS5 controller like random diagonals which was fixed with split dpad.
Thanks for sharing though, I will still gonna buy it and upgrade with the battlebeaver or extremerate split dpad.
As I've seen on X many people upgraded to split dpad I understand why now.
Please update if you decide to change it I'm invested in this.

on second thoughts it might be the design intent. I played with many pads and some of them the diagonals are so hard to achieve meaning you have to press hard.
In this case maybe the diagonals are very easy to achieve but if you design it like that you might have issues like the one you showed.
      Thanks for sharing anyway.

Thanks for the comment. I wasn't sure if I was being hard on them but its being sold at a decently high price (almost 200$) so to me at a price like that its a bit of a cop out for just someone to say "just swap the dpad bro" or for them to expect the consumer to swap the dpad when at that price point you can get very well functional hitboxes and/or joysticks with full sanwa parts on both the movement and button side. So to me even if this is just an issue with the stock dpad (which I'm not sure it is but I'll pick up a split dpad myself as well and check it out) at this price point it's worth pointing out. If this were like 50-80 bucks cheaper I think it could pass but this is sold at a premium price.
There's other issues too but to me they're not as serious. Like the handle at which you hold the controller is incredibly slippery and again at this price point you'd expect some kind of antislip grip or tape/sticker or something but to me this wasn't as big of a deal as a dpad. Part of me is wondering if they can also get away with this as well since lets be real theres no competition with these sort of controllers.

@ I mean yes it’s expensive you’re not wrong, but don’t forget that 75$ is the brook board only, add 9 sanwa buttons 3-4$ each its 30$ so you have 100$ + hardware only. (not counting the dpad and plastic).
Also I think it’s only one guy making them haha he always talk in the first person. Which means they are handmade and this increases the cost.
Price wise I think 180$ is well priced for a handmade controller. Anyway I hope the guy reads this and try to upgrade the design.

@@tesoufgc Agreed. He's a nice guy too so I feel bad about kinda shitting on the product too lol. I had an issue with shipping and he went the extra mile to help out. There's one more thing I didn't mention in the video but it's why I'm not too keen on rolling the dpad to guarantee forward and that's that it kind of hurts. No joke, I played after this video for like 20-30 minutes and I almost got blisters on my thumb. I'm sure I can also find a technique without rolling but rolling is definitely the fastest and most consistent way I found with this sort of design

@@TheRealSorav Yeah give it more time if you just got your Padbox.
However if the stock one is not good for you try the split dpad it will fix the issue you're showing. At least that way you could continue playing with it.
Can't wait to get one and tinker with it
