That young man did a really nice job. Just this afternoon I finished my bathroom remodel, which features LVP flooring, by watching you share your knowledge. That floor was full of squeaks and had a hump right down the middle which caused some frustration, but I remembered how you said we could do it with the Lord's help.

I bought a cheap cyclone separator to run in-line before the shop vac. Really helps the vacuum out. Dust is really fine so it plugs vacuum bags really easy.

Oooh I bet this kid would make a good concrete finisher! He has some skills if this really is his first time troweling anything!!

Nice to see, my teacher wasn't nearly as nice you don't need to complain if they mess up they eventually just get it on their own 👍

Good video. Really helps to have an apprentice do it. You make it look easy. Since I've never done most of this stuff I'm at the level of your apprentice. Helps me see I can do it too.

Hello from Norway! Happy new year! Very educational video. I liked the concept of showing an amateur too. It was a great idea.

Wish i would've seen this video before redoing my living room 3 times and still didn't finish it properly. I have a hump in the middle of the slab and kept trying to add floor compound on each side to level it with the hump. Spent many hours just had to make my poor job work for now.

You make this look easy! What made you decide to use the Ardex feather finish rather than a Self leveling concrete/underlay? I'm also grinding down high spots but still have dips so am thinking of use SLC. But I also have 1 corner that is a full 1/2" lower than the opposite corner and now I'm thinking I should use Ardex for these big areas to make it level then use a thin layer of SLC over the dips. What do you think?

    Great video!
Would it be possible to talk about Carpet vs vinyl for homes for keeping heat within the house.
    Does it make a difference?

Would it work to dump a 50-lb bag of self leveler into a plastic tote bin, with a lid, and stir it all up to make sure all ingredients are mixed together. Then take mix out to make small batches as needed? All directions I've seen show to mix entire bag at once.

Great info! Can you use Mapei planipatch or Henrys 547 instead? Ardex is hard to find locally.

Henry 547 Feather Finish is basically the same product. And it’s available in ready to use as well as a mix at your local Home Depot.

Could you do a detailed explanation on how to find the dips and rises to mark them?

Can you use the Ardex on subfloors that are like the particle board material? I know that type of material swells when it gets wet. Thank so much!!

Also, if you use the Ardex on the OSB/particle board do I need to prime first with a special wood floor primer?

This was great to see. We are on adobe so have a hot mess under the carpet we took up. In the hallway and bedroom. We have plywood subfloor. Can you recommend what type of filler you use over wood? We feel like we can’t go too thick because of the shifting nature of adobe. We are going to try to put down LVP, but do you think laminate would be better just because it is thicker/more rigid?

PLEASE REPLY SIR. If money is not a concern would you choose Mannington Adura-Max LVP or Mohawk LVP? Brand new construction going everywhere except the bathrooms. Thank you so much.

      @sothatshowyoudothat  ปีที่แล้ว

My first choice is Flooret and then Mannington Adura Max. Mohawk is still a good choice. A new video is coming on my top choices. If Flooret was sold in a showroom, it would be a couple dollars more a sq foot on top of what it is priced at now. Check them out!

Can you do one of these for wood floors? I am redoing the flooring in my house and when I ripped up the stuff that was there it left a lot of glue and pits (as well as sagging subfloor) that made getting things level difficult.

I've used ardex for the first time last week ...it's so amazing ..I might use planipatch to start just cause of the pricing at our store but definitely ardex to finish things

I know this video is for concrete, but what floor patch do you use for OSB subfloor to fill dips? Do you use a primer on OSB before using that floor patch? I have dips that are 1/4” over 6 feet in some spots.

@@sothatshowyoudothat Thanks for the quick reply! In that video you apply that patch over Plywood. I’m stressing myself out because my subfloor is OSB and all of these flooring levelers/patches say do not use on OSB. I am going crazy over here not knowing what to do. Will this work just fine over OSB in your experience? Any additional floor prep needed to use this over OSB? Any words of wisdom will be much appreciated for this stressed out DIYer scared to use patch on OSB :(
