Man, this was perfect timing. Me and my wife are planning our LVP install on a concrete slab. Thank you for the prayers, that is awesome. Praying for you and your family and especially that you can quit smoking. It is hard. I dipped for almost 30 years and quit cold turkey one day. First week was rough, but got easier. 3 years ago this June. Nothing too big for our Lord and Savior to handle! God Bless you.

Thanks Joe! I'm a hardwood floor contractor and I have been installing LVP and LVT for about 10 years now to satisfy demand in the New England area. Your videos are great and informative. While most of your videos, the information you give, I already use in my installations, but it's the obscure "tricks" and maybe a tool that you use that helps me with my installs. God bless you with your continued success and I look forward to watching all your videos.

God bless you and your family, thanks for your prayers. My teen son and I (mom) are doing this blind fold because handymen kept cancelling or no shows for our work. My father was a universal(self thought) handyman and thought that there was nothing a person could not do, just try and seek help. I watch all your videos and I have learned a lot and also learned I have been instructed wrong be the flooring store. I have a concrete base with very unleveled floors and 2x4 wood on door entrances. The hardest work is leveling all the floors, especially the corners and hallways - doesn't help I'm allergic to the cement (lime) mixture. Thank you again.

Hey Joe. Thanks for everything that you do. You are making a difference. I used all of your tips and recommendations (hot glue, tool selection, cheater board, using Mannington planks, concrete leveling, gorilla clear glue....everything!). My project came out absolutely PRO! I have done lots of projects but have never done the LVP until now.....and with your help it went smooth. I thank God first and foremost and you for the great content that you are providing and for your prayers for us. The tip I liked the most was actually the tapping block. It is simple but that thing was awesome and had a good weight and closed up any joints like nothing. I didn't even damage a single plank with it for my project. Prayers for you to stop smoking and for your family. I hope you stay healthy to bless your family and continue to help others like myself for years to come. Thanks again my Brother!

Thank you for your simple, straight-forward approach to explaining the process of laying vinyl planking over concrete. I am just getting started with a LVP on concrete in the kitchen and laundry room. Your tips are great, never thought of securing the planking with scrap pieces to hold it in place. There is a lot of info on installation of LVP on TH-cam so I too prayed for wisdom for doing this project. Then the first video I came upon was yours's, and when you prayed for your viewers to have wisdom, I knew I came to the right place, especially that last slide. Prayers to you and your family brother, and I pray that you can quit smoking.

I am SO grateful you made this video about the Quietwalk. I live in an apartment with sound-deadening requirements. Before I learned about the new Quietwalk product, I thought we could only use LVP with a pad that net the sound requirements we need, which are really hard to come by, or find a product I liked without a pad, which also hasn’t been easy in my area. So happy about this. Thank you!

Quitting is tough Joe. I needed to quit after 44 years of smoking. I went to a laser guy the night before, I got the generic wellbutrin from my doctor (stopped taking within a week of quit day because of side effects ,nothing terrible), and used nicoderm patches up to the end up step 2. I'm a ex-smoker for 1 year and 9 mos now. The desire never goes away! You have to want to be a non-smoker. HERE'S MY TRICK, on quit day I had half a pack and one full pack left. (I'm single and live alone and smoked in my house) The open pack is in my living room end table, and my full pack, along with the ashtray, are on the top shelf of a kitchen cabinet! I NEEDED to know my cigs were here in order to quit. I wish you the best~

Great video, brother! I'm getting ready to lay vinyl plank throughout my house on a concrete floor. At 15:20 you talked about still needing some spacers and I was wondering if I could use a glob of glue instead of a spacer. It would be faster and more convenient and the glue should be out of the way so it wouldn't need to be removed later. Could you lend your professional advice, please? Thanks.

Made a lot more sense than the previous videos that I watched from you where you're actually in the room showing it. I only secure the floor in certain situations. Its overkill most of the time. After a few rows the floor doesnt move much, especially if youre kneeling on row before. Time is money. But If you want perfection over time, then securing is best.

Something you might want to sell as an installation package is caulking the space where the drywall meets the floor. I have a FLIR Gun and I found out that almost all the that area was leaking air into the house with a blower door test.

    • @KM15-13
      @KM15-13 ปีที่แล้ว

Addressing today the same problem you have with air leaks along baseboard. Enough that you could actually feel the draft on very cold windy days. Thermal image showed temps of 41 degrees coming in. Found there is zero sill sealer or house wrap installed. Took the last two rows of vinyl siding off and sprayed closed cell foam along / closest to the sill plate. Couldn't get to all of it. When we go to replace our flooring we're going to remove baseboard and either spray foam or caulk.

Can I install a vinyl plank over engineered hardwood that sits on concrete? Initially thought this would work fine, but had a flooring contractor tell me not to do that because of the moisture coming up through the concrete that would eventually rot and mold the hardwood floor as the moisture would be trapped by the vinyl planks. Any experience or recommendations on this?

Hey Joe. Bought a house last year, and my kitchen smells musty only during the Summers. The kitchen concrete has lenoleum flooring, and I suspect there was a water leak in the kitchen before I bought the house since it is discolored and there are a couple of black small spots ( the floor also feels soft to the touch) I thought the mustiness was mold, but a mold inspector took tests of the entire first floor and found no mold. Do you think that after more than a year there is still pockets of humidity under the lenoleum flooring? Because I was not sure, I ran the Emergency Heat on my thermostat occasionally since August if this was the case. Can I install vinyl planks over this linoleum? Should I use a quiet walk pad shown in your video? Please help

Did you kick the smoking habit?
I just quit in February of this year (2023) ...and there are still days when I find myself craving a cigarette (today was one of those days) but I've still got some nicotine gum for such moments. I started smoking when I was about 13 years old....quit when I was pregnant, and then started again 5 years later and could never really get motivated enough to quit again until now (about 25 years later, I'm embarassed to admit!) but I'm very motivated this time, and feel like the longer I go without smoking, the more of a "big waste" it would be to start again, so that's helping me too. It also helps to just not have cigarettes anywhere nearby. If I have to get in the car and drive to the minimart to get cigarettes, I'm less likely to "cave" to any cravings (way to put my laziness to good use!)

But, it is not a coincidence that you posted this because today the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about the fruit of the Spirit and self control is one of the fruits. I have practiced self control with so many things and it is ridiculous that I have decided for so many years that I can't quit, when indeed I can. Thank you again for sharing this! It is a confirmation to me.

We should NOT drill into concrete in high rise buildings and condominiums. It's not allowed by condo regulations and you can get a fine if someone reports it. Floor and ceilings are considered common elements in high rise buildings.
    Glue probably works better.
Other than that, great content. Thank you!

I can safely say LifeProof is definitely one that states if you use any type of barrier or pad under it, it will void the warranty. .
