- The RunCam Split give you the ability to use 1 camera for FPV and recording Hi-Def. This is NOT a review of the RunCam, but an installation video on how to install the Run Cam Split into the Original Eachine Wizard x220.
All you need to do is solder 3 wires. Super simple.

thanks for this video just installed my runcam split 2 :D with no issues at all i did it with a cheap soldering iron and and the solder joints aren't perfect but it works fine and the colors are awesome :D

Grayson Hobby I wish I wasn't getting it now! I'm new to all this. I kept reading all about the 220 and how popular it was. I then saw that a newer version was coming out, the s. I watched a few of the initial reviews on TH-cam and the feedback was good so I went ahead and ordered. Since then, the faults have started to surface. Contacted Banggood and their response was that it's already shipped and there's nothing they can do about it. Great. Just great.
There are lots of good things about it! Banggood and Eachine acknowledged that the body was junk and said they were sending replacement arms. Instead they sent a whole new quad with a full carbon frame. 4-in-1 ESC is great. So is 5s!
Ryan Greene Yeah, apparently mine has the full carbon frame. Nice. Still have to replace the receiver, though. And maybe the antenna. The props, too. Um . . .
Ryan.... On paper the 220S is great, but the initial batch of them is just a mess, many just oversights in assembly which i'm sure will get better with time.
We have pointed out a lot of things directly to Eachine, hopefully in short time everything will be addressed.
I'm seeing a lot of youtube reviews popping up, most newer "reviewers" are omitting negatives so they can try to score more product in the future to review. Look at some established reviewers that have been around, not as solid of ratings are they?
If you like to tinker as an individual go for it, but for us, as a retailer, the product just is too problematic for us to sell to the average joe that just wants a "turn key" rtf quad free of issues. In the state of the first batch unit we have, it would need too much labor time to correct these issues before we ship. Hope this makes sense.

Change RX to something that wont fail on you, rotate VTX and add antenna extension so you can change channel without taking apart. check for shorting led's under motors yet again, the CCD camera is great, but the video feed has horrible noise out of box...add LC filter if you want cleaner video. get different props. FYI, has no one noticed the ESC is labeled for 2-4s, not 2-5s...(this may have updated, can anyone confirm?), so you may literally be playing with fire on 5 cell. Just have to ask yourself is the risk worth the reward.
Eachine needs to lengthen the motor wires a bit also, they are a bit too short going to esc.

I think the both way the fpv antennas are mounted are not ideal. The sma connector (or rpsma) is too fragile to carry the antenna and it's going to break soon just with hard landing. The antenna coming off the top plate is the first thin I've broken. The best solution I've found is to zip tie the antenna in two points or use an extension cable zip tied horizontally. Lol been waiting for you guys to do the vid on Split install after seeing you had it in stock. As always great easy to follow video!! I just installed Split on my Wizard x220 that I had purchased from you guys a while back (gold tune baby )and absolutely love that I capture my flight progression without having to carry around a GoPro. I've uploaded a few Split videos on TH-cam. Check it out.
Nice flying yatti, I noticed progression in flying just between the 2 videos you posted.
I prefer to fly without Hd cams on the wizard myself, so this was a must have mod for me, was installed and flying the day they came instock :)

Thanks for the video. I have read that you have to install a diode on the cable to not burn the camera when plugged in via USB. Could you please tell more about hat issue please? Or there is no need to do that with Eachine Wizard x220?

Why not use the old pads for power and ground? Confused, isn't that 5v, why solder to the LEDs?
Help me understand, the + and - next to VTX pad, why they can not be used?
Is the pad that the original camera was soldered to 12v? If so, and if I am running 4s with a RunCam Split 2 (which can handle 17v), should I solder the leads to the pad that the original camera was soldered to?
after all this the board isnt the same, i have no slot for the black, red and yellow wired plug. any idea what i do instead?

Hey guys, please help! I just installed a RunCam split in my Wizard X220 after watching this video, you made it easy to follow along, so thanks. After I was done, I connected a battery, armed and gave it a little throttle, so the quad and the controller were working. The next morning I went to the field to fly and I could not get the quad to arm. When I got home I checked the receiver and made sure it was connected properly, and it was. When I connected it to Betaflight and went to the receiver tab, there were no values or colored bars and most of the channels were gone. I change the receiver out with a quad that I flew that same day, I got the same results in Betaflight. I'm using the Turnigy TGY-i6C receiver and a Turnigy Evolution trasmiter. I have no idea whats not working and how to fix it, can you help?
Breton Woodford i had the same issue, i had to factory reset the FC to get it to work again.
Forgive me if this is an idiotic question, I am considering the runcam split for my diatone blade 250. I use a eachine VR D2 headset, which has built in recording. Am I right in my assumption that if I recorded via my headset rather than on board, I won't have hd recording

if the 5v bridge is activated how you can connect the vtx(7-24v) there? no must be solded on the vtx pad where is the bride on 12v?

I'm having issues getting the osd on my runcam split to work. I have everything hooked up per instructions, and it all works, but no osd. In fact I'm not even getting osd on my FC, which has it built in. I've tried every available uart, but still nothing! Heeeeelp!!

If your using a 4s on the wizard, do you have to set it up for 4s or can you just leave it. Seems there is a debate wether you should or don't have to. What do you guys think?
100% a must - not debatable at all. We seen 1000s of Wizards other who claim other wise seen 1 maybe 2

When you fasten the 2 screws on the left and right sides of the Split camera to its tiny mount, were these screws from the Split package? And more importantly, does the whole assembly (Split+tiny mount+screws) fit the width of X220S FPV camera bay? I tried really hard but I could never get the camera side plates to fit into the slots of the top and bottom plates; it was simply too wide. The only way to squeeze the Split+tiny mount in, is to remove the 2 screws that hold them together. Without screws, I tied the 2 with zipties.
All hardware comes with RunCam Split - and install is easy on the X220 Wizard
It will NOT fit on the 220s - watch our video - we have already reviewed that there is no room
Grayson Hobby i have the same issue with the original x220.. i really have squeeze the side plate to the fit in both the top plate and bottom plate..
what props are these? Just wanna try them out since I haven't found any good ones for my wizard x220

I’m having trouble as don’t have the option to change between “auto ntsc pal” since betaflight updated. I’ve got the vbat displayed . I’ve actually got the eagle 2pro but guessing that they are similar

Why does the camera signal go into the PDB? Why not just go straight to the VTX? Is there any pros or cons for wiring it either way? Also you can swap the lens with a gopro lens and it will eliminate a lot of the props/frame in view.
Exactly - we show the 'easiest' that will get you by, but as Zee said, there is more one way to do this which may or may not require more skills.
I'm wondering this myself. seems that if u go thru the pdb. it will be more susceptible to noise unless it's filtered. just my thoughts. I could be way off.
Hey there, Would it be possible to just power the camera from the 2 battery pads with a 5v bec, and run Video+GND wires to the 3 pin connector to the module?

I've had two Eachine quads. A falcon and a Wizard. Both a waste of money and pure junk! Why are you pushing this garbage?
