- This Rain world modded slug cat got an update with NEW features! So, the mod developer asked me to make a mod showcase for them to put up on their steam page!
If you want to have lizard pups of your own, then go give the mod a download, the future of it is looking promising!

I re-made this video, pretty much, from the ground up to show off new features of the mod that weren't present in the long video which is on my channel!

Lizards may accidentally eats you instead of the food your holding when trying to Hand feed them.
As a lizard owner myself i must say that thats actually realistic because mosr lizards have sideways facing eyes, so they can look right infront of them and just bite blind, at thing they have spottet when farther away.

Some stuff I found out about the new lizards (I tested with it yesterday so there have probably been changes):
The two lizards in the code (at least their name if you use dev tools and press L) are "Younglizard" and "Motherlizard."
Every single lizard is afraid of the mother lizard (I mean just look at it).
Mother lizard will hunt blues and strawberries, and kill greens and reds.
They are aggressive to slugcat if you don't have good lizard rep.
Have the usual green lizard diet (I'm pretty sure).
Very tanky and big bite damage.
Will try to kill many threats (even pole mimics and monster kelp).
Scavengers are bad at dealing with it, barely throwing things at it and often getting too close.
Young lizards are afraid of every lizard except blues, strawberries, and salamanders (idk why salamanders but it's there ig).
Greens and reds will hunt these lil beans.
They will eat batflies.
They are afraid of slugcat if it doesn't have good lizard rep.
Throwing a rock at them makes them scared of you even with good lizard rep.
Sympathetic scavs will prioritize throwing rocks at them (or maybe that's just a thing they do with all threats).
Any other scav won't hesitate to end them (so mean!)
They have extremely low body weight, making many things fling them.
Young lizards seem to like being somewhat close to mother lizards (if they see a threat they will run for their life tho)
Both are easy to tame, young lizards requiring only one food (easy with a batfly), and mother lizards requiring 1-2 feedings.
They are both cute :)
Woaaahh, that a lot of stuff
I only found a few things (other than what's in the video) such as, I found that scavengers are terrible at dealing with mama lizards and often just run or sit still while she just chomps them with a huge bite. I also found that if you *yoink* a baby lizard and throw it too high in the air and it hits the ground it will get very injured or just die (That was heart breaking to find out). I found a couple of the other things you already said too.
I didn't want to show off too much about the lizards since they aren't really out yet and I wanted players to be able to find things on their own which, I guess that worked since you found A LOT

@@Ruffles_RainWorld Mostly just testing in arena with them lol. Wonder if they no longer murder each other if you tame one (yes mama lizard bit her child into the next dimension). Was pretty funny seeing the young lizard try very hard to take down mama though, with her simply ignoring them.
Hol' up. So you're telling me that scavs kill Lups (lizard pups)... and that Lmoms (mother lizards) are good at killing scavs... man, you'd think the scavs would've learned by now, but nah. Angry moms (or former moms) are truly the ultimate weapon against the scab menace.

My favorite silly little fella has made a video on a silly little fella!
The neutrality towards lizards is huge in terms of difficulty change.
If you are still able to befriend the scavengers, then the whole prospect of “dying” becomes A LOT harder.
Their only real threat then are centipedes and spiders, the latter I noticed in droves on Saint’s campaign.
For reasons I cannot discuss due to spoilers, there is going to be a lot of rot added in at least one region (proof look at the workshop page) so that balances it a bit.
I wonder what else might be added to potentially balance the difficulty

don’t know why, but honestly those giant lizards look really really cool. the lizard pups are easily my favorite part of the mod though; they’re friggin *tiny* and i love them so much

if its untamed and the player isnt at full lizard rep, they run away from Slugcat, Very fragile little guys
I've played with THE FRIEND. It's pretty calm and you can appreciate the view a bit more not worrying too much about the lizzies around. Is also satisfying cause he jumps really high and moves as if he is made of *cotton candy*. 🥺

For anyone wondering about the change in the world state beyond lizards, blue fruit famine, and snow, here’s what I know:
-Shaded citadel is a little brighter, has less creatures, and has been abandoned by scavs.
-Rot that has fallen from 5P onto memory crypts have degraded too BLL’s along with a name change to the subregion.
-Most if not all of 5P related subregions have been renamed.
-Underhang has no mobile DLL’s
-Big Jellies have moved to shoreline and moon is powered
-The Rot/5P is still powered (Likely just so The Friend can still navigate while the dev works on an overhaul to the region)

oh I thought the big pixels in that room was a thing I only had, but nope.
Yeah, that's SB Camera scroll. It messes with snow textures and underwater textures, which makes them look pixelated and gross.

The Friend is easily the best modded cat I’ve seen so far, both in overall concept and in implementation (not being too broken, except maybe for the food)!
I really like The Friend, the movement is honestly so cool and befriending the lizard is just the best thing ever! So of course the only logical thing to do is killing every single being I see xd

My guy Ruffles, couldja' maybe upload a video explaining how to install slug base? Me thinks its got something more than just putting it in workshop due to the fact I can't seem to get it to work. I think that could help as ive been wanting to add more slug cats to me and my friends joly misadventures to give us more options and the Friend looks like alot of fun in this vido.
For me it was as simple as getting slug base and the modded slug cats from the workshop and then activating them both from the remix menu.
Verifying your Rain World steam files, unsubscribing from mods, re-ordering your mods in remix, and uninstalling/reinstalling the game might fix issues with modding. I hope they help :)
I might make a trouble shooting and steam workshop guide to rain world soon which might help people with these problems, because I know there is a lot of them right now.
@@Ruffles_RainWorld Thanks for the attempt at helping! Your doing great as one of I'd say a few consistant Rain World TH-camrs. Think yar' doing awesome though and happy your channels growing. Also i have tried reordering the mod list just not uninstalling and reinstalling just my rain world has old mod stuff because I used to do fancy slug cats like Tribe Cat, Porcelain Cat and Rot Cat. Also the western American one but nobody could download that one.

I've heard from a few modders in the community that deleting the "bep/index" folder in the rain world files and then verifying files through steam can help with some texture and overall mod problems. For me a quick modding fix is always verifying files. It's possible that those old mod files are breaking or conflicting with something. If nothing works then you can go to the modding category of the official rain world discord and use those resources or ask around. They are always happy to answer questions :)

@@Ruffles_RainWorld Yeah none of this stuffs been working, I'm not really a game files expert, I'm just an artist who did Fancy Slug Cats so my files are wierd. Ive rienstalled, validated the files, reordered them several times in remix, trie with just the bare minimum of just Slug Base, Joly and different Slugs but uh none of its working. I'm just gonna keep going through files to try to find anything for bepinex but Jesus christ I have no idea.
